The biggest job I've hired him for so far was to brace/strengthen and refinish my deck. I had the decking replaced last year, but didn't get around to finishing it after it had seasoned. A year passed and the wood was starting to look dry and cracked. My little daughter couldn't go out barefoot anymore because she would get splinters every time. Kris gave me a competitive quote and made an excellent recommendation on a material to refinish and protect the decking. Now the deck looks brand new, it has a little bit of texture to provide traction if it's wet, no more splinters, and it's super easy to clean. It was an all-day job for Kris and two helpers, and I couldn't be happier. I appreciate that Kris is willing to do some little jobs too. I hired him to clean my gutters, and another time I hired him to do some repair work and repainting to part of the exterior of my house. It's good to have a business like KAR that you can always call on to do good work for anything related to home improvement or home repair.

Kris and his crew essentially rebuilt my entire home over a 3 month period. Spanning from wall removal, bathroom renovation, rerouting electrical, custom sink installs,, adjusting floor deflections, baseboard customization, door installs, crown molding and painting. Literally everything I could throw at him was not only done on time, but it was done right and at the price quoted with no surprises and there was zero worry about leaving him and his team to work without me home or around my dog. Even the most mundane jobs, like silencing every creak in every floorboard and hot water pipe in the house was done and Kris refused to leave the job site until it was completed. You're not getting a guy that does contracting as his job. You're getting a contractor that DOES his job, period. We needed someone who was above all honest, trustworthy, and made things easy. We were very nervous because the work we were having done was much more than we had engaged someone to do before, and everyone has heard a horror story about a contractor / bad home project. Our project was a finished half of our basement, including a full bath, mini-split HVAC, new electrical panel and framing around mechanicals that meant creating a mini-boiler room. The work that Eric's team did came out beautifully, the electrical and plumbing team he used was top notch, and we have a space we are very happy with. It seemed almost miraculous to us that with Eric, there really *was* nothing to worry about. What he said would happen, happened. When we had a question, we called him -- and he always took our calls and responded, fast, not to mention he was always up for a good laugh. He made practical recommendations that met what we said we needed, his people showed up when he said, and the work got done while staying completely out of our hair. It is true what their site says, that NEC is a family-run, long time business in this area, and it shows. Eric is a great guy, fun person to talk to, and he takes true pride in his work, as does his family who work with him every day. We contracted Bona-Fide Construction in January 2023 for a small bathroom remodel. Initially, we…read morewere informed that this would be a collaborative project in which they worked with the owner of the home to ensure satisfaction so we were looking forward to working with the company. However, we noticed that accessories, and appliance like the bathtup, towel racks, lighting fixtures were mostly their "idea". When they were done, there was quite a bit of cleanup that we had to bring to their attention like messy grout under the vanity which looked awful and paint causing the door to stick. There was also a lot of cleanup we had to do as there was dust all over even though they told us we did not have to move anything "out of the way". Fast forward to June, I contacted them due to several nails popping out of the "new" ceiling and they informed me that the warranty on their work had expired but as "courtesy" they would fix this item. Important to note here here is that the nails were popping out of the ceiling initially when they began the work and this was brought to their attention to which they responded that they would "take care of it". Initial issues included hot water coming out of "cold" water faucet; installation of a vanity which may have been damaged as it seems crooked as installed and the door - to this day - does not close properly. Technically, it was the wrong vanity to replace the old one as it's too high as well. Based on our experience, they do not work as collaboratively as they should with the owners. We depended on their guidance as supposed "experts in the field". I would not recommend them for bathroom remodeling.

We were responsible for the purchase of the tub, tiles, niche background, and shower fixture, and tub installation kit. The estimate noted that the job would be completed in 4-6 days. This 4-6 day job was not completed by the 9th day due to the staff working half days, not coming due to car issues and by the 9th day, the staff still had not properly replaced the shower handle they lost, they caused damage to our bathroom tile, and damaged the new water spout for the tub. Furthermore, the electrical work for the exhaust fan was not done. After discussion with my husband, we decided that we did not want Jason or his staff back in our home as we were not pleased with the quality of work done, the damage to bathroom floor tile, and for the poor solution to replacing the shower fixture that his employees lost(instead of replacing the shower handle with a handle to properly fit the shower, they used a standard handle and pried it open to fit the shower mount). In the end Jason, did deduct money from the final balance owed but that doesn't take away from the poor experience we had working with his company. While Jason was apologetic, we selected him because of the reviews online. I would hate to see someone else go through what we went through without being properly informed. I do not feel like this job was done properly, or managed properly. I would surely say that I will never hire another company based on online reviews. I just can't trust it. This experience really made me disinterested in hiring anyone that is not referred to us by words of mouth.

The work began in September and ended in October. We were fortunate that the weather was gorgeous but it could have turned quickly. So Anton and his crew would often work till dark ( 8:00 PM) and showed up on Saturdays when necessary. The job was completed as promised. Promises made, promises kept. You can't beat that! Another professional and amazing point I should add is their respect for your home. Everyone expects a crew to clean up when the full job is complete. But Anton and his crew cleaned the entire place every single day they worked. I often watched Anton late in the evening "dusting off" the saw dust created from the carpentry work from our lawn. I doubt other crews do the same. This is the only crew we will be hiring from now on, and neighbors have been asking who did our job and can they get the contact info. Yup.
