Please note that I have written my review specifically for O La La Hair Design at 895 Palisade Avenue, Fort Lee, New Jersey. This salon is in an easily accessible area, has parking, is welcoming, clean, comfortable, and the fee structure is consistent with industry standards for the level of expertise offered. I found that Walid Elkhechen (Wally) is an incredible Master Stylist. I found his talent to be equal to or even better for me than top salons in NYC that I occasionally visited for special occasions such as John Barrett Salon in Bergdorf Goodman and Fredrick Fekkai's flagship on Fifth Avenue because he actually listened very carefully to what I wanted and his end result produced an exquisite cut with an amazing comb-out. He is also punctual and has impressive patience, is exceptionally talented and has decades of expertise to offer his clients. Not everyone has the ability to make fine hair look terrific but Wally has the wonderful creative ability to do so! Finding a stylist and a salon I truly click with is like hitting the jackpot! From the outside, it's easy to pass by it. It's small looking, and tucked in a corner. It's right next to my old favorite donut place that closed down. From the inside, it was nice and clean. Everyone was busy when I entered, but there was a wall of products calling my name. Any place that sells Moroccan Oil is automatically somewhere I like to be. They also had bagels and beverages available to customers which was great after a long day at work. For the stylist, Rick did my hair. He was super friendly, sarcastic, knowledgeable, and caring. He was very attentive and talkative which I really appreciated. I didn't feel like a stranger. He talked me through color options, hair cut options, and why's for each thing. What I left with, is exactly what I wanted. He left the length I wanted, and the color was spot on. He double and triple checked his measurements to ensure all was perfect. Something I really enjoyed was his color application. For the first time, I didn't leave the salon with dye on my face and ears. It looked natural and not obvious. I bought some of my favorite products, and I was on my way. Just wanted to say thanks again. I'm looking forward to coming back in for my next visit.
