ESP owner, Jeff provided a competitive bid for exterior painting of our house and we chose him to do the job. 4.5 stars. I had them paint 2 room about 2 years ago. I think they fit me between jobs, so that could have affected things. They were efficient and the crew was nice and did good job painting. For the price, I expected better prep on the trim. I pointed out that the old trim paint was probably oil based. Now there has been several places that have chipped. A couple are in places where high traffic is maybe the cause, but others look like it just didn't adhere well. Anyway, Jeff is proud of his business and his crew, and they seem to enjoy their work, which says a lot. I would use them again and just review the prep. read more

ESP provides professional and personable service at a reasonable price. Jeff Sommers hires conscientious, hard working painters, pays them well, and they stay with him, so you're getting an experienced crew that knows what they're doing. They do extensive prep work before applying paint and are super careful about masking windows and doors to protect unpainted surfaces. They are also super responsive to the homeowner's requests, acting immediately to attend to them. Our eaves are varnished wood, and they took special care to sand and prep them before putting on new varnish. They also scraped and caulked our house VERY thoroughly before painting. The results are outstanding, and we couldn't be more pleased with how great our house looks. A big shout out to Alonso, Edgar and Jacob who worked so hard to make our house look beautiful. We had the exterior of our house painted in Jun-2009. Jeff was very professional and the work was completed on-time and looks great. The crew were also very professional and cleanup was done well. We had one early-on miscommunication and Jeff was on my doorstep to straighten things out within a few hours (and had to drive from Hillsboro to SE PDX on a weekday afternoon to do that.) Highly recommended for both Interior and Exterior. Last year we did a major remodel with lots of woodwork and this year we had a problem outside with some rot that needed major painting after the wood was replaced. Jeff and his team from ESP Painting are fantastic. He worked around my schedule, and even matched my exterior paint when I couldn't find the can. With the weather changing quickly, he made sure to come up and take care of my little job when the sun came out. In addition, their attention to detail is phenomenal. Arrived on time to a scheduled estimate, had an ipad with him and was taking pictures and making notes, made a proposal on-site, and had me scheduled to have job started and completed in two days time. Was communicative and accessible by cell phone for all coordinating of and performing the job. Professional, helpful in guiding decision making and spent extra time assisting in DIY how-to so I could save money. Did a tremendous job with accent walls in three rooms, all Sherwin-Williams Duration Matte paint (awesome looking paint) included for over a grand less than other companies were charging. We just had ESP paint the outside of our home and the experience couldn't have gone better. Jeff was great to work with and provided a detailed estimate that beat most of the other bids we had. We also needed some siding repaired and they were one of the few companies we talked to that included that in the estimate. Once we decided to go with ESP, everything went great! They got the siding repaired promptly and made sure we got our house painted pretty soon after that. I saw the ESP truck across the street. My neighbors were very happy with the exterior job that ESP did. So I called Jeff and asked him to provide me with an estimate on painting my living room and hall. He came by right on schedule. We had to wait for a rainy day, as this time of the year, the painters are busy doing exterior work. But Jeff kept me posted and gave me plenty of notice as to the start date. The guys came on a Monday and finished up a couple of days later. This is the best experience I have had with a painting company. The painters took meticulous care of my home. Their preparation of the rooms was detailed and thorough. I was going from a dark to light color, so in addition to priming the walls, the job required three coats of paint. My home looks like new and I couldn't be happier. They cleaned the place up and even helped me move some of the heavier furniture back in place. And when the job was complete and I realized I did not want the old window coverings up after all, they came back, patched the holes and painted the areas where the fixtures were. This was the best money I have ever spent on my home. I am so glad that I found them and will call them in the future. read more

We had a fantastic experience with ESP Painting. We called them after we fired our other painters. ESP fixed the mess the other company made and painted the walls and woodwork in the majority of our house. They painted some built-in shelves in our family room and revarnished the cabinets in the bathroom. Manuel's attention to detail was exceptional. For example, the other company had removed wall paper and then a dry wall company came in to texture the walls. The drywall company left gobs or drywall plaster behind the toilet. The other painting company just painted over it. I didn't mention this to Manuel as there were too many other things that needed to be fixed. However, he scraped off all of the paint and drywall behind the toilet and repainted. We had a darker colored paint against whiter woodwork so the lines had to be exact. They did a great job. They came on time and worked long hours to accomplish the job in a timely manner. Manuel has been with the company for nearly 10 years so he has a lot of experience (and speaks good English).
