The facility is clean and the staff is friendly. The restrooms, personal training areas, and pool are downstairs and free weights, cardio equipment, cycle area, and aerobics classes are located upstairs. This facility is not a top tier facility for the franchise because it is not the most sanitary place to come to. The locker room is always void of paper towels, but that is not the fault of the cleanup crew because they can only install what the club managers purchases for the installations. The workout machines are always in disrepair. The rubber that encases the hand grips on most of the machines are either tattered or missing. A member should not have to notify a counselor of that because the counselors walk around and should be able to see that for themselves. The facility has not been ADA Compliant for over one month with the "out of order" elevator, but that problem should be handled by the property owners, and it is not being done. The New Years, always flood the Memphis health spas with "New Year Resolution" Members, but this new year has not shown any new faces at this facility; maybe the new year's people are going to the Polo Grounds Site, that is always in perfect repair. read more

I WAS a huge fan of this gym. However, they have given more and more reasons not to. Pros: The gym is spacious, they offer towels for guests and the other locations don't (maybe Collierville location), coed sauna, pool, big locker rooms, remodeled, and it's a central location for many. Cons: They need to upgrade their security plan/process and they need have better customer service. Earlier this week, my friend and 6 other gentleman (in the men's locker room) had their personal property stolen from them. Someone cut the locks off and took their things while they were working out. After the fact it happened, we told the staff in the front and they seemed concerned but they did not do anything about it at the time. Please give us some comfort that this will not occur again. I come here multiple times a week and I need to know it is safe for me and my belongings. read more

I paid for group training sessions for 6 months, my guy told them he wanted to stop after that, but they kept charging me until I went in personally to speak with someone. I had called several times prior and they couldn't figure out how to do their jobs. And when I asked for a refund on the payments I had made after we requested to stop, they lied. The ESPORTA branch in Cordova is always a hot spot for car break in. I never thought I'll be a victim last March 02, 2023 , time between 10-11 PM. As we headed home, the window of driver side been smashed. We are the only one in the parking lot and police didn't show up and we're advised to go home by 12 ish AM. I join Esporta last July 2022 and since then lots of car break ins in this location. There is one Friday evening that three incidents of break in span of 30 minutes to an hour. I sent email last Sunday addressing the concerns, suggestions and hoping they can improve the camera or their surveillance . Sadly, it will continue to happen if the business owner will not do something about it. As the saying goes , in order evil to triumph is to do nothing. read more

I love the gym. I have a membership in planet fitness but it is nice to come here as a guest with my friend. They have machines similar to planet fitness but they have classes available. This gym is terrible when it comes to security. People get their cars broken into here every other day and the gym manager does nothing about it. There's been endless police reports made and it's still an on going issue. I signed up maybe 3 or 4 months ago and the same day my truck got broken into, and it just happened again. That's twice and the gym won't hire a security for the parking lot. They have cameras all over the place and it still isn't any help. I switched gyms cuz I thought it'd be a better area to go compared to atc but it's only been way worse. read more

I have been a member of LA fitness for almost two years and I was so close to cancelling my membership in the months waiting for this location to open. The location I was going to on Polo Grounds was very dirty, especially in the locker rooms. This location is much different. Their cleaning is impeccable. I let the lady who does the cleaning know how great of a job she does. I know it is new and shiny, but she really takes the time to ensure it has stayed that way since this place opened. This five star rating is for her. The gym is large and it has never been too busy for me to get in a good workout. I appreciate the provided towels and the hair dryer in the locker room so I can work out before or during work. I didn't let this impact the perfect 5 stars I rated it; however, there have been numerous times I have gone to work out and they were not open. Most recently this past weekend at 8:00 Sunday morning they didn't have the right key as I waited in the parking lot to work out. Other feedback to consider are the kid zone hours. I feel Sunday is the prime day to have the kid zone open for parents to be able to work out, yet it is closed this day. The weekend hours should be expended for sure. read more

I've been going for a few weeks and this place is awesome. The staff is very friendly. If you have questions about exercises or health, they have an answer. The trainers aren't afraid to really kick my butt when I need it. (And I need it)The staff motivates and give me pointers in what I can do for my body transformation and health. Gym is ok, staff not ok. I signed up for Personal trainer, got home and found out I got approved for my house. So I called the following day to cancel, being that contract states you have 3 days to cancel from start date. Contract also states to mail letter. So I called spoke with Mahlayia, she understood took everything down. Said she would pass along to her manager to take care of it. Month later I'm charged $198 for PT fee that I did not receive due to cancellation. So I called same day got her on the phone and of course she said she would handle it. Said the system was down, I understood that. Said she pass all notes to manger to get the situation handled. So I said I would follow up in a few days. Called back, she said "oh my manager said he reached out to you, that he had you on the other line". I hadn't heard from NO manager. Week later, manager calls, "Oh this is Josh, our system has been down, but I would get you payment expedited to you. This is my personal cell you can call me anytime". Still haven't received any money, and calls go unanswered. It's been 3 weeks, so I felt like I was scammed out of my money. All I want is a REFUN!!! read more

I moved and filed my required cancellation by mail and was totally willing to pay my cancellation fee, but I could never get in touch with the only single person at the club, that was able to take my payment. TERRIBLE! Find another gym. The sauna is broken every week, multiple machines need to be fixed, and half the tv's on the exercise equipment don't work. Their female employees just walk in the men's locker room like they belong. Cleaning the lockers while I'm standing there changing clothes... Honestly, at first glance, I thought this LA Fitness was going to be the best one in the Memphis area. However, I was completely wrong. For 2 months they continually have to wait on ONE single piece of equipment for the sauna to begin working again. The employees seemed genuine and nice when I was signing up. They told me they would waive my processing fee AND said that they would waive the cancellation fee. However, when I was trying to cancel, they said that they may have told me that but it was not in the ELECTRONIC contract I had signed. Therefore, I was to pay the cancellation fee. At the time they were in desperate need for people to sign up so that is why they said they could waive it. Now I can see why they were in such a desperate need. Terrible business model, horrible ethics. 1/5 rating. Would give it a 0 if I could. read more

Gym is great, sales tactics, not so much. Maybe it is because I was always a YMCA member that I never dealt with pushy salesmen, but this place is something else! The equipment is nice, pool is beautiful and facility is great, but I didn't appreciate being hustled around by their sales team and interrogated as to why I didn't want a membership (I came in for a tour).
