On-site dynamic stretch therapists with beds by cryo/heat therapy bed, hydro massager both glorious after workout (15 min changeovers, sharing=caring), decent # weights, Olympic weights and machines but could easily get crowded at peak times. LOCKER RMS Individual Steam and Sauna rooms attached to locker rooms supplied with towels, lotion, razors, cotton buds and balls and a well lit vanity station in each set of locker stalls. CAFE and SPA!! All-in-One relaxation with On-site Spa services, and cafe offers more than just customized hot/cold sips but eats too and BILaw loves their sandwiches, ham in particular though we didn't have time to attest to that haha. I have been a member for about a year. The people working there normally nice especially in the coffee shop and checkin. The sauna is now closed and I went to an employee, Sam, and began expressing my concerns to the constant issues with the sauna. End of it Sam argued, didn't care and said it is my choice to be a member and I could find somewhere else. Sam doesn't understand I do my chemo treatment Monday afternoon and my routine includes coming to the gym for mind body and spirt before the infusion center. This is not about a sauna thing this is about a routine I've been doing for a year and some employee with zero care. Sam didn't know and doesn't care because Sam is all about Sam. Anyway end of the day Sam is right. I can choose any gym and just start a new Monday routine there. Please don't hire anymore like Sam. I just spoke to the manager who took time to hear me. I had the chance to visit Life Time Fitness in Collierville because my friend had a guest pass and invited me, and I'm so glad she did. We attended the Surrender Yoga class with Heidi, and it was such a good experience. The class was relaxing but also really effective it opened me up and helped me stretch in ways I didn't even realize I needed. Heidi was calming, knowledgeable, and made the atmosphere feel welcoming. After class, we sat in the sauna for about 15 minutes, which was the perfect way to wind down. Before we left, my friend gave me a full tour of the facility. She showed me the different floors, the daycare area, locker rooms, pool area, pickleball courts, and the basketball court. I joined a few months ago and while I love the gym itself, the cleanliness (or lack of it) is a huge problem. Machines are visibly dirty, like they haven't been wiped in ages. Several times I've gone into the bathroom only to find no toilet paper or paper towels, and counters left grimy. The pool? Same story, especially on weekends. This is supposed to be a luxury gym, yet it's being run like a cut-rate chain. Actually, I've seen MUCH cleaner at Planet Fitness. Either they don't have enough staff, don't pay them well, or don't train them properly, whatever the reason, the result is obvious. Dirt everywhere. A luxury gym should be spotless. Sparkling. Instead, it feels mismanaged to me. What's worse, they don't seem to listen to feedback. I'm sure someone will post a canned response here about how they "value member concerns," but if the gym actually cared, it would show in the cleaning. There are no better options around here so I will continue to go, but this bothers me a lot and I would tell anyone else before they joined. read more

I absolutely adore this gym. I have disabilities and trying to stay active, work on my mobility. This facility offers various classes for every level of fitness. The class instructors are very helpful and it feels very personable. Even though I take majority Arora classes/senior classes it has helped me physically and mentally. They offer everything from weight training to swimming to steam saunas , massages or get lunch from the cafe. Heidi is amazing for yoga, Jule is a doll in teaching the Arora workouts. This place is pretty nice! I love the fact that this is the cleanest gym I've seen. The people in the gym are all super nice and considerate (employees and staff alike). It's not insanely crowded. There are plenty of each machine, there are tons of classes, there's a salon, a massage spa, a cafe with a mini store, there's three pools, two huge hot tubs, steam rooms, saunas, pickleball courts, a basketball court great locker rooms to include a family locker room. They seem to sterilize the locker rooms and everything else every night (maybe first thing in the morning). While the gym membership is $130 a month, it's nice to not deal with the packed gyms full of insanity. If you can afford the membership, do it. You probably won't regret it. read more

Military and am new to the area. Reached out to see if they offered any discounts or a couple free day passes so you can check out the gym and was disappointed to learn they only give tours. A walkthrough just doesn't compete with a day or two of actually using the place and experiencing the people and environment on your own. Since they charge a rather premium price, I'll just go elsewhere. Guess we won't know if it was a good fit or not. I've taken enough marketing classes to understand the promotion opportunities being missed here. Clearly a push towards full on memberships with a visitor/guest experience that clearly needs improvement, which reads consistent with several reviews I just skimmed. Two or three day passes, with your already existing operations cost, likely just cost you several months of membership fees. I hope you understand this as a company. Unless your gym is overflowing, you can only gain equity in basic promotions like this. You can even limit it to like 200 promotion passes at first come. This will also make it seem like your business is more popular... At the cost of washing a few more towels since everything else is already being cleaned and maintained. Should charge you for this entry level marketing education! Best of luck long term, would put money on the fact your bottom line is stable, but only due to increased fees and decreased customer base. ... I admit the place did look like it had a lot to offer, but your failing to account for the unknown experience consumers have. Recommend fixing that moving forward. read more

My family and I have been members for about a year now and we love this Lifetime! The amenities have always been great and clean. I highly recommend using this gym if you are looking for a great place to work out, join classes (and a community), and relax (we love the pool!). I have a story that I think truly shows how much the staff cares and is well maintained: Recently, we were sitting out at the pool for a while and we got up to leave. As we were exiting the outdoor pool region and entering the indoor pool region, my sister fainted due to heat exhaustion. The staff was right there to catch her in a heartbeat and carried her inside to a cooler room. They stayed with her and brought ice bags and water for her to cool her body temperature down. They also called the EMT and guided them to where she was. They were so attentive and kind during all of this and I am beyond grateful for their help. My sister is fine now, and I truly believe that was due to the staff's quick thinking and excellent first aid training! Thank you!! read more

Good luck canceling your membership. I moved out of the city and sent an email asking that my membership be canceled. Months later, they are still trying to charge my American Express monthly. My family and I have been coming to this location of Lifetime fitness since the day it opened over 10 years ago. In fact, we joined the club even before it opened. When I left for college (out of state), I cancelled my membership. This year when I came to visit, I used my brother guest pass to enter the club. The next day a member of the sales department contacted me after noticing I had used my brother's guest pass and offered to give me a week long guest pass. I thought that was very nice of her and accepted the offer. The pass was issued for December 15 - 21, the days I would be in town for the holidays (you can see a picture of the pass attached). After two days of me going to Lifetime and on the third day I went, this sales representative told me that my guest pass had been cancelled because "too many people were coming to the club." When I asked why she never told me over the phone that there was a chance I wouldn't be allowed in the club, she said "Dalton Alexander (Sales Manager) told me we only allow guests to come a couple of times every few months. You can purchase a day pass for $30 or a full membership for the next couple of days you are in town." I have a few thoughts about that rule: 1) I would have been happy to pay for a guest pass, but why did you issue a complimentary 7 day guest pass for me if this is the case? 2) That should have been communicated to me when you issued the guest pass. 3) No where on the electronic guest pass does it say guest passes will be cancelled after x amount of days of usage. This sales representative is brand new, and it's clear to me from this experience that this Lifetime location is clearly not training its employees. It's also clear to me that they will make whatever sort of rules they want and enforce them at their own will. My family has been incredibly disappointed with the service given they have been going to this club for over a decade. It is clear that the priority of this club is to just sell memberships, so they aren't concerned at all about the quality of service they offer to existing members (my entire family). If you're looking to join a fitness club or even go as a guest, I would highly discourage you from doing that. read more

So this location made the decision to become a "pickleball" facility and used skewed metrics to justify replacing both basketball courts by 1/4/2023. I've been a member of Lifetime for 5 years now and this is effectively the last straw for me. By removing the only location where you can spend time with your children outside of the pool, and the only place where children from 10- 20 can practice a variety of sports you have killed the "family" gym. If I wanted to be a member of a racket club, I would have joined a racket club... not Lifetime. The "fastest growing sport" is growing quickly because the established number of players is far lower than the established number of players of major institutional sports. read more

Wide selection of work out equipment that is expanded upon fairly frequently, but their handling of the basketball court is so annoying. In the summer, they use up the entire court for their daycare classes five days out of the week and they last virtually all day, so if you're into basketball you can only play on the weekends. This is incredibly frustrating as they're offering less ammentities for the same monthly membership cost, which is crazy expensive. read more

I've been a member of Life Time now for around a year and a half. Being a foodie and a self proclaimed beer connoisseur, I've come to the conclusion I can either work out...a lot, or give up my love for food and alcoholic beverages. I've also, for some reason, been getting solicitations from AARP. Well, I'm not saying I'm old but I find it a lot harder to keep the pounds off now then when I was a few years younger. I have a nice gym at home but lack the all important motivation factor. This is why I decided to join Life Time Fitness - Peer motivation and their classes. First the pluses: The club is huge, well equipped and clean. They have just about every cardio machine available and even when the club is packed there is no problem finding a tread mill or elliptical machine to use. They have a nice free weight section as well and there circuit machines are also adequate. I used to be an early riser but my current job changed all that and now when I'm off, my normal routine is up around 9:00 to 10:00AM, make myself a nice cappuccino, watch the news and finally wander out around noon. I know its pathetic but what can I say. It works for Life Time because it's usually fairly quiet around noon. It starts to get packed around 4:30pm. They also have several pools both inside and outside, his and her steam rooms and pretty nice spa's (Hot tubs). The club also has a nice Cafe serving healthy bites and a full service spa where you can get hair cuts, facials, nails, massages and pedicures. The negatives: It tends to get very packed around 4:30PM. They have numerous classes; most are free, some you pay a fee. I like the spin classes but they tend to be early. I'm still in la la land before 8:00AM and have a hard time making these classes. They do have some in the evenings but as I said it tends to get very crowded after 4:30 and the classes are first come first serve, so you need to get there early to claim your bike. As I said earlier, I'm a beer connoisseur and need lots of core/AB classes. Unfortunately, they don't seem to offer too many AB classes. Price: They have a number of different programs. You can pay per month without a contract. I hate those clubs that give you the super low rate if you sign for a year or two because they know, generally speaking, you'll stop going at some point and have to continue paying for the remainder of the contract period. I pay per month and during the summer I put my membership on hold. When its nice out, I just can't stay indoors. I love to mountain bike and I'm generally pretty active in the summer so I do outside stuff and stay out of the health clubs. They charge you $10/month to do that. You can't use the club during this time but when you're ready to return you avoid the $175 signing /processing fee. If your with FedEx, they give you a discount and you can sometime negotiate the signing fee. Overall, I like the club...The people are friendly and helpful. They have all kinds of classes including Yoga and kick boxing and finally the club is open 24/7. It's also a chain and if you're traveling you can use their other clubs for free as well. read more

I am from Los Angeles, CA and gyms like these cost of $100 per person here however we had a family membership for 4 @ $110. This is a great gym for everyone in the family. I think the previous reviewer has done a great job of describing their eminities so I won't get into that. I have been to several gyms but the day care here is exceptional. My 4 year old truly looks to go every day. I usually workout super early in the morning however I have been there doing peak hours and I still had plenty of equipment available for use. My 12 year old and I go practice at the basketball court before his games and he also enjoyed their rock climbing. Now that he is 12 he gets the opportunity to use the big machines upstairs. My wife loves the classes and attends them all week long. I love the spin classes and join my wife in some of her classes. You could be there all day and have a great time. Oh and if you get hungry their cafe has all the healy breakfast lunch & dinner menu items you could want with a nutritional breakdown. Its a really fun place to be. read more

My ideal gym: barbells, dumbbells, assorted tubing, 1 Bosu, 1 medium and 1 large stability ball, 2 medicine balls, a couple of Plyo boxes, a TRX, and an adjustable arm FreeMotion machine. My impression of LifeTime: Globo-Gym. The gym had the most equipment I've ever seen in my 30 years of being a gym rat. All the equipment worked really well, and I could see that it was well-maintained. It was difficult to make up my mind which ones to use. If my kids were little again, I can see this would be a go-to place because of the pool and other things to do. BUT... I guess I'm just accustomed to those smaller, more intense atmospheres. read more

I'm such a fan of Lifetime fitness. I love that they have an app for guests to use to really take advantage of all the facilities. You can see schedules for classes, book sessions and spa appointments, and see how many workouts you have completed that month! Lifetime spa-- I posted a separate review for lifetime spa but WOW I'm a fan! I love having a spa right here in my gym! Classes -- there's something for everyone. There's Zumba, CrossFit, kickboxing, yoga-- every kind of fitness class you could ever want! I love that they also have physical therapists to assist with strained muscles and repairing injuries as well as personal trainers to assist with individual fitness requests and goals! Cafe-- such a convenient location! Their salads and smoothies are amazing and there's something everyone likes here. I love that I can snag a water if I forgot mine and that I can charge it right to my account! The Locker rooms are MASSIVE and I love that they have a sauna and a eucalyptus infused steam room. They always have towels on hand which I LOVE because so many gyms never have towels anymore?? The workout facilities are always clean and wiped down, I've never seen a machine that's out of order for more than a day. I love that there's towels available on the workout floor to keep you fresh and plenty of water fountains to Keep you hydrated. Friend of mine invited me to a workout here. I'd never been and wanted to see what it was like. We meet at the gym , he checks in and gives the guy a guest pass for me. Clerk says the new pool icy is no guests after 9pm. It was 9:30. My friend was unaware of when the new policy had been implemented as he didn't receive a letter or email. So we ask to speak to the manger . Manger comes out with the police lol. Mind you , no one got loud, used profanity or anything if the sort. My friend tells the manager that he was unaware of the new policy and that I drove a nice ways to try the facility out & could we get a pass for the night since he didn't know about the policy. Manager says I'd have to pay for 1 day pass ($25) to get in . Ultimately we decide to leave because the vibe is all ****** up now . We go outside to find two more cops have showed up lol. We're like you've got to be kidding me right. I mean I kno I'm 6'2 and change but damn ‍ I just felt like the situation could've been handled wayyy better, and bringing out the police was totally unnecessary‼ Not really sure if I wanna go back now. I want to warn anyone who attends this place that this place has something very wrong with it. They think they are more than a gym. The goal is to get you to join and then nickel and dime you to the 10th degree. My experience is that I joined just to have access to a nice gym near my home. I wanted to get my wife to join but she was resistant. I got her multiple guest passes and she would never use them. One day one of her close friends asked her to attend with the kids. I was happy as this was the perfect opportunity to get her to join with me. When she arrived the front desk banned her from entry and got irate with her. I had been begging my wife to go see it for months and then when she arrived they belittled her and yelled at her. After this I went down to cancel my account. The person I dealt with apologized and then suggested I pay a one time fee of $15 so I could change my mind and return. For the several months I was working my tail off...I never checked the spam folder on my personal email. It turns out I WAS BEING CHARGED $15 a month to hold open my membership and not use it. I called and spoke with someone nice (Jessica) and then she indicated I HAD to come down there to shut the account down or send a certified letter. I went down there and they demanded ANOTHER monthly $15 fee! I would be very wary of ever giving them a credit card number....I will never return. read more

I just recently moved here from Dallas. I have been a member for almost 10 years. I have never had problem until my uncomfortable and complete unprofessional encounter last night. About 15-20 minutes into my workout I get some guy rudely and with an attitude telling me "you need to get out of the pool! The pool is closed." I begin to argue back and due to the fact that there is no signs that says the pool is closed. There are signs everywhere about the remodeling that's currently going on, but NOTHING that says that the outdoor pool is closed. Usually when it rains they have a big sign they put in front of the door. No sign that stated that the pool was closed. He said "pool closes at 9 because that's when the lifeguards leave." 1st of all the lifeguards leave at 8, I don't even work here and I know that. after 8 the pool is open to anyone 12 years or older. I'm still in the pool while this is going on. He then said "we can do this the easy way by you getting out of the pool right now, or we can call the police." Like seriously threatening me by calling the police because I was still in the pool? So at this point I'm livid I then ask to speak with the manager, there was a lady there with him she steps in and says "I'm in charge there is no manager right now" She then said "I tried to get you out 10 minutes ago but you weren't listening so I had to bring him to help you get you out" (because I wasn't listening?) are you freaking kidding me? I'm swimming laps I'm in the water obviously I can't hear you. At this point I'm just straight pissed off. I then get threaten again by getting the cops called by this lady because she felt threaten by me.. I was shocked on the way I was treated. This location is currently going through remodeling like I said, so the indoor pools are closed at the moment. I've been late night swimming in the outdoor pool for the last week no problem until last night. I was unbelievably shocked on the way they handled the situation. They need an actual manager on site that has the capability and capacity to handle situation like this THE RIGHT WAY. I'm still unsure of what just happened. I just left Lifetime Fitness on Houston Levee and it's 10:45a.m. I pulled up with the intention of purchasing a membership for my husband and I. I noticed one door was for members and one said guests. The sign on the guest door said closed but I noticed members using it so I assumed that it had been overlooked and someone forgot to flip the sign to open. I walked in and a lady told me to hang on and she'd get an employee to help me so I thanked her and waited a couple minutes. So, this lady came out of one of the rooms with a scowl on her face and before I could even say hello she said "The sign says we're closed, come back at 4:30pm" Now as she did this she had her hand on my shoulder literally escorting me out the door. I asked if there was a piece of paper or flyer she could give me regarding the gym and she said NO and repeated herself that they were closed and she had to get back to her class. Um ok I said thank you as she pushed me out the door. Now I understand if she was busy but wow she actually had her hands on me pushing me towards the door and was incredibly rude. There was no hello I'm so sorry no one is here to help you right now. Just a rude employee representing this gym. I'm a 5ft tall petite woman in my late 40's who barely spoke a sentence before being escorted out. To the owners- If you're closed than your guest door should be locked and your employees shouldn't be putting their hands on possible future members. A really nice gym but kinda pricey. It's $60 for just one person. If you're going to sign up I do recommending waiting for one of their "no intro fee" periods which happen frequently. I also recommend joining when they offer perks. When I signed up I got $100 in club credit that I used at the spa and two free personal training sessions. The facility is large and if you're there to workout on the machines then you're hardly ever going to find a time where you're not able to do that. If you want to do yoga there is also a space for that. I will say the pool is kinda small and with so many kids in it they just can't keep it clean so know that. There are also jacuzzis, saunas, indoor and outdoor pools, a cafe, rock climbing wall, and a spa. That's only some of the things they have! read more

If I could give this place zero stars, I would. Horrible! They were fabulous when they first opened but it has gone WAY down hill in the past 2 years. The clientale' is shady, cars are broken into, showers are not clean and many do not work a lot. Their child care was recently in news for possible molestation in the day care by a male employee. The pool rules are ridiculous...they make everyone get out every hour for 15 minutes. This is HORRIBLE if you have small kids that have to sit there. They are always out of towels in the Summer and the management is worthless. We never recieved points we were promised so we eventually canceled the membership because of all these issues continuing to compound. read more

About a year ago I decided it was time to make a change in my life and made exercise a top priority. I purchased a bike (which I ride about 100 miles a week) and a treadmill. I was getting great results but was ready for a change so I joined Lifetime Fitness. While this is not the nicest gym I've been a member of, there is something about this gym that I absolutely love. I feel welcomed and comfortable here. The facility has a lot of natural light and feels motivating. The dressing rooms are well maintained for the most part. I LOVE the classes they offer. My favorite is Spin and Beth B is hands down my favorite instructor. They have a wide variety of equipment. The only time the place is packed is between 4-7. If you go any other time you don't have to fight the crowd. The staff is very nice and always willing to help. The place could be a little cleaner but considering the volume of people that move through that place they do a pretty good job. read more

The facility IS beautiful. It's huge. They have a snack shop and a spa. The locker room is larger than my house. The cycle room has 4x the bikes of my current gyms. They have the space and staff to offer multiple classes during each time frame. If bigger is better for your purposes, you'll be right at home. Personally, I'm a class girl. I joined for two weeks to take all the classes I could and bask in the glory of the best money could buy. It bought the same thing that less money and less distance (in my case) could buy. I was excited to try Vinyasa Yoga. The yoga mats (I know, I know) were rough and the studio was stuffy. Another girl commented that it was too warm and was told that it was just 76 degrees. The weight instructor kept calling a rep a set. It drove me crazy. I was lost in a Spin sea. The music was too loud to hear the instruction and there seemed to be many people in attendance just doing their own thing so I couldn't figure out what was happening in the class. Yoga/Pilates was dull and felt like a waste of time. Dance Jam was fun - I'm just uncoordinated. I could go on. I'm sure this facility has a lot to offer, just not to me. read more

During the school year, I love this place. It's got a great selection of classes, nice, clean locker rooms, and lots of space. Pay programs including team training available also, and usually TEAM training does not interrupt regular members (okay, sometimes the music is loud and you'd really love to have a treadmill facing the HGTV television, but it's reserved for TEAM training). The spa is fantastic, and they can do anything listed and do it well. I love Joy for massage, and hope to get some color streaks in my hair at the salon soon. The cafe has a decent selection for its size, and the staff is all wonderful at the cafe'. The kids portions are more like 4-5 year old portions, and not 10-12 year old portions. 2 small sliders and 3 baby carrots. *** Moms- listen up*** My issues are with EVERYTHING RELATED TO CHILDREN: The Kid Zone (or whatever it's called- should be called the nursery, because they don't cater to big kids very well) is SLOW going. Security is too tight. Hard for a mom to say that, but it really slows things down, when every mom can only be in there individually, and you have to walk through and get your kids, even if the kids are already at the exit gate waiting for you, and you could easily reach over and hand the woman your ID card. It makes absolutely no sense, and has to be a corporate policy put in place by men and not busy moms juggling children, with places to go and stuff to do. The swimming pool would be so great if my kid could pass the darned swim test. Somehow she can swim all day long in 4 feet at our country club, but cannot swim 25 yards in 5 feet across the lane to get a special wristband which allows the child to be more than ten feet from the parents. TEN FEET, y'all*. Not the the kid doesn't have common sense out the wazoo, and would never go in a depth she didn't feel comfortable in, and she can read. Not that there aren't 5 lifeguards working outside at any given time. Not that she doesn't have fun swimming or playing with her friends in the water for weeks at our lake house. But that she has to pass THEIR swim test. We enrolled the kids in summer camps, which I have to say are very generous with their hours and reasonably priced, considering it's basically just day care for working parents, with an 8-6 schedule. The counselors working with the kids mostly look absolutely miserable, and cannot crack a smile to save their lives. I have seen the young ladies in the locker room taking the kids to the bathroom, and the tone of their voices is more prison warden than nurturing camp staffer. Checkout from camp was, again, ridiculous on the safety procedures. My kid was 15 feet from the table in an open gym, having snack, so I went to walk up to him and tell him it was time to go, and this college-age kid gets all high and mighty saying I have to check him out before I even talk to him. She asks for my ID and I hand her my Lifetime membership card which is what they use in the nursery/kid zone area. She says, "No, your ID." Confused, because my license was required to obtain my membership card to begin with, and nothing in the camp registration or at drop off said I had to have my driver's license to pick up my child from camp. I don't know if this was a snarky employee (well yes, she was snarky), or just another anal-retentive policy of Lifetime Fitness corporate. My son said it "wasn't bad", however, and in pre-tween speak that is a B-. In short, great workouts, great food and spa, be prepared for TSA-style red tape if you want to bring your kids in or out of Lifetime, or have fun of any kind. I was a member here for about six months during 2012, and this gym is the nicest gym I have ever been to/probably will ever go to. The price is expensive for Memphis, but I live in Brooklyn now, so the $60 a month for an individual seems pretty great now. The gym literally has something for everyone: rock climbing, yoga studios, a spinning room, group personal training, a lot of group exercise classes, and a freaking theater room with cardio machines. Y'all, this place practically has a full-fledged water park outside! I took a star away because there used to be little kids in the women's locker room frequently. Some people don't enjoy your kids playing tag around them while they're trying to change into their sports bras. There is a family locker room for a reason. Just sayin'. Regardless of locker room awkwardness, I would definitely recommend this place if you're looking for gym. read more
