Not a lot to say other than this is a nice stop to get some coffee. There is plenty of seating and a nice collection of artist created coffee cups. There is a retail section as well. The staff was extremely friendly and I mistakenly ordered an illyCrema which I thought was a hot coffee. It turned out to be a cold creamy whipped type of thing. She said she thought I would enjoy this even though it wasn't what I expected. She said it was a very popular order. If you love Paris cafes, this one gives you a very unique taste of Italy! It has coffee merch and accoutrements to take back home with you, but what was really impressive was their coffee! The staff is friendly, especially when you order in French. (My French is beginner, but they gave me the benefit of the doubt.) I loved their strong, creamy espresso! My hubby had a cannolo Siciliano to die for. It was like being back in Italy. The pastries are also memorable, as it should be everywhere in Paris. They keep the shop clean, and there's a good bathroom downstairs. I thought I was just ordering and I'd take my drink like you would in the US. They brought everything to my table for me and then laid the presentation out just the right way. I honestly forget after awhile how many vendors like this Illy do things in Paris. In the US, it's kinda drop and go, push you along. I think there's an element with many in Paris of speaking French (making the effort) goes a long way. The more you try, the more they multiply in giving that courtesy back to you. But it's nice to experience the extra element of service again that is so incredibly uncommon in the US. It's not just about the food. Good food. Delicious coffee. Prompt and pleasant service. I had a few minutes to kill until the next leg of my tour of Paris started, so I stopped in for some refreshment. The guy behind the counter was smiling, welcoming, and very energetic. He answered all of my questions (en Anglais et Français... I think I heard him addressing guests in Spanish and Italian, as well) and he got my order to me in no time. I ordered a tuna, squash and fromage sandwich on focaccia which sounds random as hell, I know, but trust me... it was absolutely amazing. I nibbled on a tiramisu macaron while I waited for my sandwich. Unsurprisingly, it too was fantastic. The barista was equally swift and whipped up my cappuccino just in time for me to catch the next leg of my tour. It was rich and creamy and just hot enough for me to sip right away without incident. If I'd known it was going to be this good, I would have ordered a large. My only regret is that I did not have time to sit and savor my meal. So much city to see, so little time. read more

Alright I'm giving this place one star based on two experiences. The first time I came here I was absolutely amazed. It was busy and they had 5 people working hard to get to orders out. a young male manager greeted us and helped guide us through coffee ordering. I got a cold brew and a weird little milk coffee almost ice cream type thing in a shot glass. Both were amazing! My friend said the yogurt he got was the best he had in his life, that was 5 stars. But on Saturday morning we went before our flight when they opened at 9am. We we're outside the door and spoke to a really nice french dude who was picking up coffee for work. The girl working by herself who opened the door looked miserable but when he talked to her she immediately perked up with him. He asked her what Cold brew was (in french) and in an extremely derogatory manner she spoke back to him saying "just cold coffee that Americans love". Really? I placed my order after saying by to the dude with my friend and she went cold right as she spoke to us. I ordered the same two drinks as before, a can of coffee, and gave her 50 euros. I hadn't used euros at all but she scanned the bill and gave me change back for my $16.70 euro order. She gave me $3.30 euros back instead or $33.30 back. I had no idea until I was giving my friend euros for the taxi and he said "that's 30 cents". While waiting for our flight a gal told us that it's common in France for them to do that to clueless tourists. So yeah, ef you rude french american hating thief barista. read more

It was great to see an Illy bar here! Their lattes were just ok. I was expecting the coffee to be served in regular mugs but instead they served it in champagne flute looking glasses which was a small amount. Their WiFi sucks so good luck with that. I know this is a chain and we're in Paris (quel sacrilege!), but this Illy worked really well as a quick meal before heading to the Louvre. The caprese sando was just what I wanted. I didn't realize that they were going to toast the bread (c'est parfait!). In America they like to panini toast the whole thing which ruins it. Husband had the vegetable sando. I liked the cool espresso cup sculpture hanging from the ceiling. read more

At best, this is the place to get good consistent coffee quickly. There's a selection of pastries as well to accompany your drink. But if you're getting an iced beverage (like cold brew) - be prepared to not get any ice, or a lid for that matter; so drinking on the go can be a challenge. There's also a Buy 1 Get 1 Free coupon inside the Big Red Bus Map - you can easily get one for free at the bus center next door, and use it at this particular location. If you're not a coffee drinker, or more of a Starbucks loyalist, at the very least, its a good place to use the bathroom (head downstairs). read more

Illy has one of the best cappuccino in town!! Love the atmosphere, the decor and their amazing pastries!! It's so hard not to get their pastry there. Beautifully displayed with so much varieties, we had to get some with our tea and cappuccino. This location is conveniently located near the Opera house. People watching is one of the attractions. The barista gave me extra coffee for the cappuccino he made me! Awesome sauce! read more

The staff speak Italian and the coffee is good - but the wifi setup is insane - they send you a code to your email to verify - which assumes you have data to connect to that email - not a problem...unless your shop is so shielded that you can't get to your 3G/4G signal to verify that email. And even then, it's only good for 2 hours. Ended up sitting near the front door and just used my own data and did other work. Use this place to stop in and get a quick bite or to have a long conversation with a friend. But it's a dreadful place to do work. On the "attention to detail" side one of the toilets downstairs was overflowing and none of the staff attended to it over a 4 hour period. They are all over the city. Quite convenient to escape the cold and have a shot of strong espresso and a bite. Their menu includes salads, pastries, sandwiches. Love the coffee Demi tasse sets. This is a chain that is located in different countries throughout Europe. This particular location is located near the Opera House and Big Bus (city tour) office. The cafe itself is clean and sleek and has a high end feel. There are some outlets but not at each table like many cafes in the US used for computers and phone charging. The coffee is chain coffee like Starbucks but still pretty good, and I have had coffee different times in Italy, Spain and France which are known for good coffee (as well as San Francisco, Seattle and New York which are also good but good places are all over the US too you just have to look). We had a cappuccino and an Americano. It is pricy but this area is heavily tourist so expected. The service was ok but not super friendly. But this is based on one visit. I have never eaten food at any Illy location so cant comment on this. They have some cool looking expresso machines for sale. Its a good place to wait for the next Big Bus as well..... read more

Don't recommend this place at all. I went in today for some macaroons. During my visit my 1 year old daughter got sick and threw up. A worker there got very angry that she threw up and demanded that we bend down and clean everything up. I wouldn't go back there or recommend this cafe. That worker ruined our day!!! read more

I came here not expecting anything to be very good. But can I just say, I WAS WRONG. I had no idea what to order, and the barista suggested an iced cappuccino. All I can say it, IT WAS THE BEST COFFEE DRINK I'VE EVER HAD IN MY LIFE, no exaggeration here. It was cold, but there was no actual ice in it, and the froth was so creamy and smooth.
