The one I went to was a head spa, but a Chinese one. This one is Japanese and has the same features as what I have been reading about in Japan. So they start out with a scalp review, showing you how bad your scalp is. Like last time, I had a lot of buildup. I was offered more treatment for dandruff, dry scalp and didn't take the upsell for more treatment. Then I'm led into a dim room and offered a chair. They add a protective layer so I don't get wet, and cover my in a soft blanket and an eye mask. The process of washing my hair with various water and products was similar as the other head spa, but here my scalp was focused on 90%, whereas the Chinese one did a facial more than my scalp. After the head spa, I paid extra for them to dry my hair. I don't think it was worth the $45 but I wanted to pamper my mom so I splurged. They said they offer hair dryers so I guess you could DIY. 3 head spa with an added blow out came to $495. Tip was paid in cash. My mother commented that her hair felt so soft and luxurious. That's worth the money right there.

She offers different types like mink, as well as different lengths. My lashes always look natural and I love that I no longer need mascara. They hold up to everything, including my workout routines and even my rowdy sleep patterns. Definitely try her out if you're looking for someone!

When we started, she got frustrated and told me that my eye kept twitching. I told her it was because I felt a burning sensation and also felt like the tape was poking my eye. She offered the sensitive glue which i agreed to but I feel like she got really upset based on her tone. She asked me if I had drunk coffee, which I had. In the past, it never became an issue so serious. She kept claiming, in a slightly rude tone, that I felt burning because my eye kept twitching, but she never tried to fully tape my eye shut. The entire time, I felt burning and discomfort in my left eye, and every time she moved my lashes around, it hurt. I have never had that happen before, so I was really scared that it might lead to an infection or something. This morning, I woke up with the bottom of my eye red and my eyes still feeling a bit irritated. Right now, I regret getting them done there, and I'm hoping it's not something serious like an infection.

I bought the Groupon deal for the full set of 3D mink lashes. This was my first time getting lash extensions and it took a week for me to bypass all the small annoyances and truly appreciate the beauty of the lash extensions. They lasted a good three weeks for me until I started balding out -- I let it naturally fall off and chose not to do a fill. Although the results looked good, the process to get there was merely OK. My lady wasn't rude or anything, but she wasn't enjoyable or helpful either. It was easy enough to schedule an appointment, but upon arrival, she didn't ask me any questions on how I wanted the lashes to look and failed to explain what she was doing throughout the process. She also didn't tell me how to take care of the lashes afterwards... I had to look up the care process online and ask friends who have extensions. Walking through the steps and providing info on how to make the lashes last long is extremely important, especially for first timers such as myself. The price was a steal, but it comes at the expense of great customer service. Again, they weren't horrible, but just not helpful. If this isn't an important factor for you, I would recommend you come here for your lashes at a low price. Otherwise, I'm sure there are better places for lashes. P.S. I never realized how crooked by brows were (one higher than the other) until she took a close up picture of my lashes. read more

I found this spot while in search for a good massage in Hermosa Beach. It is tucked in a small strip between a vans store and dry cleaners. The inside is done really nicely. It doesn't look cheap or cluttered like other massage spas in the area. I go back once a month and the massage is the best in town. Their masseuses really know how to apply deep pressure. What I also love about the massage is that they massage your feet for a little bit, as other places don't do that for a "full body" massage. I always leave totally relaxed and greeted with a smile and fresh water. The pricing is super fair for the quality massage. I will be back for sure. read more

There's a convenience store a block away from her that has an ATM if you forget cash! Be sure to get directions for when you arrive. It's a bit tricky to find her place. She says the lash could stay curled for up to 12 weeks depending on what you do to them. Mine only looked good for a month max. The second month, most lashes straightened out, while a few stayed curled. By the end of the second month, all my lashes were straight again. I don't wear much makeup (only eyeliner) on a day-to-day basis. I wear mascara only on special occasions, which was 3 times during the those two months. I never wear fake eyelashes. I'm not sure why mine didn't last as long, but it was nice while it lasted. It's a little expensive for my lashes to look good for only a month. I see why people do it if they curl their eyelashes everyday. It definitely saves a lot of time. It was definitely nice to have, and I might do it again for another special occasion.
