This is my 3rd review since living here. My experience living here has been fantastic. I'm writing this review based on my service experience. I recently had 2 issues in a week, one being my A/C leaking and the other was my garbage disposal. Both events were greeted by the same technician Jerry. On both occasions Jerry was so prompt and friendly. Not only was Jerry concerned with fixing the problem but he was equally concerned to make sure he didn't leave a mess. I'm really happy with our current management team and hope this will help future residents. The current management is the best team Essence has had since living here. Jenny is super responsive and always helpful. Patty is great and always making sure you're good. Jacob is amazing in resolving issues. And Ronny is new but has brought something extra to the building. And maintenance is SO responsive! I highly recommend living here. Update!! My post was to inform new residents. I think it's important to let prospective residents know what's available. This was supposed to be a luxury complex and usually freight elevators to accommodate large furniture are available. Yes, the staff did try to accommodate but it was not their fault the building does not provide adequate space in the elevator. I appreciated the help. But it's better to know before you buy furniture that you can't move unless you are willing to climb 7 floors to get it into your unit. I will check before I sign next time. Updated review from over a year ago. I've added a star for change in front office and crew. A lot has changed in the last year and the office, while still having some issues things have improved with the new regime. Tenants here are still mostly those that think because rent is paid they can do whatever they want as if a lease agreement doesn't exist. Lots of smokers, lots of loud music, lots of dirty looks. There is a chat on telegram said to promote community and whatnot but all it's used for is talking negatively about people not in the chat or flexing how they don't care about rules. Do not move here if you want to feel safe and have good security. Management (Jacob & Osiris) does not care and just tells you sorry. Old management was so much more responsive and helpful and actually cared when things like this happened. We had to go back and forth with management just to get the camera footage of the stolen things and they don't even want to bother helping with that either. There are multiple car break in's and motorcycles getting stolen the same night along with units getting broken into.The main lobby elevators are always broken and the grills on the third floor walking towards the pool have been out of service since I moved in a year ago. This place is going downhill and I would not recommend. Don't waste your money renting here if that's your main concern. I lived at Essence for a little over a year. I had such an amazing experience there. The building was continuously cleaned and maintained. All of the workers and the leasing office were so nice. They held social events every now and then that included food and drinks, exercising classes with trainers, or even just watching movies! What was icing on the cake for me, was how great their maintenance technician Jerry was!! He was always so nice, helpful, and easily accessible. He was very communicative and treated me like a friend! He made sure to get his work done, but was so friendly at the same time, which made me feel very comfortable there. I only moved out of this complex due to my job, but if I could have stayed, I would have! The only things I would complain about are that we only receive 24 hours a month of free guest parking (and if you needed more than 24 hours, you would have to pay $10 for each occasion), sometimes the elevators were not working, and sometimes people did not clean up after their pets. But overall, still a great apartment! read more

This building is a shit show. They lure you in to sign the lease only to be rude and disrespectful to you afterwards. The units are very small for the amount they ask for. Their units have a lot of electrical issues, they also have a plumbing problem, their pipes smell like dirty sewerage at every faucet, they constantly have elevator issues. people get stuck in them almost every other day. They don't have freight elevators so moving furniture into your apartment is a hassle. They have roaches on every floor, roaches in the amenity rooms. They have a lot of security issues, cars are constantly being broken into. Property being stolen from people's storages and bike cages. They have water leaks into the parking structures from up above that damages cars then they expect you to pay for your wash and new paint job. Their gym has had open drywall patches for years. Same thing with their hallways. Their trash chutes are always full of garbage. Their spa and pools never work. They promised heated water yet it's always cold. They only have two barbecue grills for it housing 300 units. To top it all off they have an absolutely disgusting manager who sits in his office all day and bad mouths his residents as if there isn't a hallway beside his office. Several residents and former residents can attest to that. He yells at residents when they're in the gym for working out too loud. If you're looking for a nice place to live in this area look at The Q they have 3 beautiful buildings near by. Look at Sofi, look at Fusion, Look at Triana. Look ant Montecito. "EVERYTHING ABOUT THIS COMMUNITY I LOVED" The leasing staff - Jacob, Osiris, Jenny, and Carlos are all wonderful people. My Maintenance guy Wilkins always came to fix anything I needed - the best ! Great location, Very clean, most of the neighbors here are nice, very peaceful here. I felt really safe with security and the fobs. I'm so grateful I got to experience this location. By far the best building in Warner center. Sad my time was cut short. I didn't have a bad experience here at all. I will miss it here. This building looks nice but is in very poor condition all the way around. The staff here doesn't care about residents, they only care about a paycheck!!! This building is raciest and they do not keep it as clean as they did when I lived in 3 years ago. Jacob whom is the manager here is disrespectful. They don't care about your privacy here. Not to mention the roach problem they have by the trash shoot too. They charge way to much and so many people have left here these last couple of months. We also have a staff member here who has dated several residents here and has actually been found in a resident apartment without invitation. So if you're looking to move here please think about it first. And if your colored (a race other than Caucasian) do NOT MOVE HERE. Not to mention it's a huge lawsuit here. Firstly, I want to say my Leasing agent Jenny was nothing short of amazing and professional. She helped on two separate days with tours, information, the application process which is stressful, she made it a smooth process. She knows what she's doing. Nothing was rushed, she gave us a detailed informative tour which we grew to love the place even more when there was so many options around. The apartment complex was so clean, modern, stylish, functional and a total surprise. I was sold after the tours. I felt comfortable and at home before I even got accepted. I moved here a few months ago and everyone has been more than amazing, especially Osiris who assisted me with my lease application, the process was seamless and quick. Maintenance crew is always responsive when needed attention on a few minor items .. I would highly recommend living here, the grounds are always clean and it continues to have that brand new scent throughout.. my guests are always so impressed when visiting. RESIDENT ALERT We've had it with the absurdity at Essence apartment! Non-residents are using our gym. An outsider trainer has a door access fob, bringing in their friends and clients, and monopolizing our facilities! And this is happening all day long. As paying residents, it's unacceptable that we can't even use the gym, with the machines always occupied by outsiders. Management, do something about this! Already, our frustrations are piling up with the existing issues in the complex. It's time for action! read more

Great building to live in, apartments are spacious and the building is close to many major streets. Osiris made moving in a breeze.

I've lived here for about 6 months, when I first moved in, they were in the middle of a transition and throughout my residency a new management team was hired. I haven't had many issues, but the few small ones I've had have been handled appropriately and timely. All the residents I've encountered are kind, the surrounding area is super quiet and not heavily populated. There's a security guard that does the night watch, which makes me feel super safe. In general the apartments is always clean and the staff is friendly. Of course not every apartment is 100% perfect, the gym has been under construction for a while and can get a bit messy from time to time. But it's always at a good temperature and has all the equipment you need! Overall-- I'd definitely recommend the move to the Essence. We even have a friend moving in soon that we recommended to move-in. read more

Constant vehicle break-ins. Multiple motorcycle stolen on the same day. If you like loud parties, a green area that's covered in dog poop. Unresponsive management. This you can't leave your windows open because of the smell of the smoke that comes into your apartment. The management doesn't care. The security guards are on their cell phones. They don't care. I am delighted with my decision to move in Essence. Best design , plush amenities , LOVEEEEEE my kitchen. I am so over electric ovens and I have an awesome gas stove that makes me feel like I'm in a chefs kitchen..Samsung fridge w ice machine and water filter . My apartment seems so much larger than my last at 796 square feet and the ones I've seen . Lots of counter space . If you're looking for a safe "luxury" apartment building then this isn't one. They break into cars and steal motorcycles/ bikes like no other building. Literally ANYONE can get into this building and steal whatever they want and management will not do one thing about it. Residents have been struggling with having a safe environment here since they opened .They stole two of my own motorcycles within 4 months apart from each other and they were both locked inside the garage behind the gates and a lot more other things from other neighbors but they never notify or let other residents know because they lack so much security and don't want to lose their rents. The only emails you get are usually that the "elevators are down" or "rent is due" .Security is either gone or sleeping on the 2nd floor offices and that's because they seek for the cheapest services that exist out there but average rent is $2800 here...? When you mention these problems to the manager Jacob, his respond is "if you're not happy here you can move" and he says that in the most aggressive and offensive way. Front desk people are great and so are the maintenance guys... maybe the manager needs anger management classes before interacting with tens of residents daily with different emotions and problems because I've seen him scream at multiple resident for the smallest things they did. read more
