As a parent of a Pepperdine student, I cannot begin to express how wonderful Paxton Place is! Paxton was "home" for my daughter and 3 friends for 2 years. It was the perfect place for her to transition into adulthood while completing her last 2 years of college. All of the girls were sad to leave. Sitting on Las Virgines Rd, it is conveniently centrally located within a 15-minute drive of everything that my daughter needed and loved to do. It's a quick 15-minute direct drive through the canyon to Pepperdine, the heart of Malibu, and all its beautiful beaches. It's walking distance to Albertson's, Erwhon, Pepperdine Calabasas campus, and a peaceful nature trail loop. There are also biking trails behind the complex, as well as trails that connect to the Santa Monica National Recreation Area. Sitting a mile from Hwy 101, it is a short 10-minute drive to 2 Trader Joes, Ulta, Target, Costco, and many coffee shops and restaurants. It is a 15-minute drive to Westlake-Core Power and Sprouts or the Topanga Mall. Paxton Place is nestled in the foothills of the Santa Monica Mountains, and the townhome's patios and ample windows provide expansive views of them from every view. Her modern, bright, and well-maintained unit was so welcoming that it felt more like a private home than a typical townhome. The layout was spacious with tall ceilings, lots of windows, and plenty of storage. The complex has lovely landscaping, and the complex is peaceful and quiet. My daughter loved that there was a mix of all ages living at Paxton and that the tenants were respectful and friendly. While at the pool, she would chat with fellow students, families, young professionals, and retirees, all enjoying the same place while respecting the privacy of the others there. The grounds, pool, and clubhouse are regularly, meticulously cared for and can be reserved for private gatherings. Any maintenance issues that arose were quickly and professionally rectified by Gilberto and his team, including switching the air and fridge filters and regular pest maintenance. As a parent who visited often, I was very familiar with the complex and with the staff, and I was extremely confident of my daughter's safety. Paxton has an all-night security team that walks the grounds and knows the tenants and their vehicles and is quick to investigate any person or vehicle that is out of place. The best part of Paxton is the management. Holly and Valerie are true gems. They are responsive to any tenant needs 24/7. As a mom to daughters in their early 20s, Holly looks after the students with a mother's heart and is especially attentive to the needs of the students in her complex. She goes above and beyond to attend to the concerns of her tenants and truly has cultivated a community at Paxton. When Calabasas evacuated twice for fires last year, she communicated directly with the tenants with early updates and pertinent information throughout the emergency, while Gilberto and his maintenance team proactively enacted measures to help protect the complex. When it was my daughter's time to move out, the team at Paxton was just as helpful in the move-out process as they were when we moved in. They were fair regarding any charges for repairs to the unit at move-out and quickly refunded our deposits. My daughter loved her time at Paxton and misses it! We highly recommend Paxton to anyone, especially to families of Pepperdine students. Although it is not in Malibu, it is so close and centrally located that my daughter never felt disconnected from her Pepperdine community, and her home was so large that she was able to host dinners and game nights for her friends. Lived here with my roommates for a little less than a year and I have only had great experiences with Holly and Dana. From the beginning, it was so easy to communicate with them to set a time when one of them could give us a tour of the property and the different townhomes. I believe my roommates and I came at least twice to tour and both times Holly and Dana answered all of our questions and provided even more detail so we left knowing everything about the place. Holly gave us the rundown of everything and went the extra mile to find the information needed to answer our questions. Now living here, Holly has shared her number with most of the residents which is super helpful whenever I need to send a quick text asking about something or when she will be in her office to pop by. I moved in here recently and Emmanuel the Community Manager made our move seamless and effortless.
