I was in a great deal of pain with a stiff neck and my usual acupuncturist was closed on a Saturday. I called Essential and was able to get an appointment within 2 hours. Jutara is friendly and very welcoming. After the procedure I was a lot better. Maybe 85 %. I was very relaxed all night and slept very well. I'm so glad I found this place! I'm a dancer and had a really bad injury last November. I went to the emergency room expecting they would take care of me and guide me in the right direction as far as how to treat my injury etc. NOPE! Completely wrong. All they did was take unnecessary x-rays and said they couldn't see anything wrong. Mind you I had told them from the get it was my muscle... not bone related. I waited for HOURS and in the end all they gave me was an ace bandage, Crutches and some Advil. HOORAY for modern medicine.... noooo. :/ Anywho, after a month on crutches I thought my injury would be better but they pain persisted. That brings us to now.... 3 months later of no improvements. A friend finally convinced me to try acupuncture. After a few days of searching on yelp for acupuncture clinics in China Town, I decided to stay local and search in my own neighborhood. Yelp was offering a deal for "Essential Asian Medicine" and I thought "What the heck, I'll give it a try". GREAT IDEA The location is SUPER close to my place and located in the awesome area of Bixby Knolls in the LBC. The office offers a very tranquil environment. Juntara the owner is super sweet and very welcoming. It was really comfortable talking with her and explaining my symptoms. She's very helpful and explained everything she would be doing in detail. I felt like she really cared about my situations and it made me feel positive about the outcome of my results. For my first session I received acupuncture concentrating on my right leg AND electro-therapy. After wards she applied heat and messaged the injured area for a while. When it was over I felt a little soar but the next day my leg pain was very minimal if any. I can definitely feel some kind of difference already. I THINK IT'S WORKING!! My injury was a torn muscle, which isn't fixable over night so I still need to go back for a couple more sessions, but I am extremely confidant that I'm on the road to recovery thanks to Juntara! Going to Jutara's clinic was a godsend. She relieved me of my terrible allergenic sinusitis, which I had suffered from for over forty years, beginning when it was first diagnosed while I was a student at USC in the sixties. Since that time, I have seen many doctors who could only tell me to flush with a saline solution, take aspirin, get religion (which I already had) or, in more recent years, to use sprays with steroids and other dangerous ingredients, which only provided temporary relief at best. While the steroid sprays were effective for a time, they were dangerous to use over long periods, and sometimes didn't really relieve the burning sensation. And then I went to Jutara's clinic in Long Beach. Her treatments did the trick. I began to stop having the terrible burning pain in my sinuses, and when I felt an episode coming on, I would again take the herbs she prescribed and that would stop the burning episodes from developing. I was training for a triathlon, when I started having pain and tingling in my neck and arm, which turned out to be a pinched nerve. I was also leaving for a trip to Europe and didn't want to be suffering on the vacation. I scheduled an appointment with Jutara, who was recommended by my neighbor. It was great, she did an acupuncture treatment followed by a deep massage with the liniment that was right for me. (She had me smell different liniments to determine the one I would respond best to.) I felt better immediately. She also gave me a small bottle of the liniment to take on the trip. It was actually quite helpful. I had been running for years but many times would get the common runner's injury such as a shinsplint. I would usually slow down with my running when I have the pain and then get back to it once it get better. One day, I decided to see Jutara for the above injury and since then after the treatment have not had any problem ever again. Two weeks ago, I had back pain that would not go away and same result after acupuncture and massage it went away and have been pain free ever since. This is a great place to get treatment. I highly recommend this place. Great location, right on Atlantic and walking distance from my house. Jutara has been treating me for migraines and we are making good progress. She is very attentive to her patients and explains what she is doing as she is treating you. You will never feel rushed. I injured my knee on a trip to China. My regular doctor and the specialist to whom she referred me, told me the only option was a knee replacement.
