Today was my first visit to Simple Health Acupuncture & Chiropractors, and I'm so glad I went! My daughter gifted me a package of three massages, and I decided to book my first one today since I had the day off and my sciatica had been acting up this week. My therapist, Hazalia, came highly recommended by my daughter, and now I completely understand why! I've been getting massages periodically since 2014, and I can honestly say that today's massage was one of the top three best massages I've ever received. Hazalia was absolutely wonderful. She used the perfect amount of pressure, constantly checked in with me to make sure I was comfortable, and really listened to what my body needed. I specifically asked her to focus on my sciatica, but she also paid attention to other areas that needed extra care, especially my neck. The arm massage was honestly extraordinary! I've never received an arm massage quite like that at any other place I've been to. What I appreciated most was that I never felt rushed. She took her time and made the entire experience feel very personalized. Overall, I had an amazing experience and will definitely be coming back soon for my next massage! Spa massages are fun and relaxing but let's be honest they are a rub down with facility amenities. I am an athlete and my muscles are always tight. I've been dealing with a lower back thing for a few months and sandy literally reads my back and muscles like a book. Never missing a single knot. I have felt her working on knots in my hands i mean that's how phenomenal she is. I rarely ever fall asleep because I'm so engulfed in all the popping sounds in hearing in my back and shoulders. After being pregnant for 9 months, one can only imagine how much our bodies have gone through. At 3 weeks post partum, I'm feeling all the aches everywhere in my body! Located in an old building but a nice clean office. Christine was very friendly on the phone and in person. I've been having aches and pains but mostly right now dealing with frozen shoulder. I got the Groupon deal which was acupuncture and cupping for one hour. Make sure you fill out the forms they email you so that when you get there, they will quickly start treatment. Otherwise get there 15 minutes early to do that. Ann was very nice. After the procedures were done, it was a quick goodbye. I guess I would have appreciated a quick one minute explanation. What I mean by that is.... I would have liked to know regarding the cupping, if there was anything I needed to know. Maybe that's not how it works. I could be wrong. But regardless I booked a cupping procedure with Julia next Tuesday which I'm excited about because there were a lot of good reviews about her. I'm hoping my next experience will be better. But I still recommend this place. Another thing I was interested about was Tui Na but Christine didn't seem to know much about it. She seemed a bit confused. Today was my first Acupuncture and Cupping session. I was referred by Mike Adams who gave a presentation about acupuncture at a nutrition class at Long Beach Memorial hospital. Check-in was very easy and the front desk staff were very nice and professional. Yunis was very knowledgeable and asked questions about why I was there and came up with a plan of treatment. I was having problems with plantar fasciitis and some neck/back pain and after my session I could immediately feel some relief! I plan on making this apart of my self care routine. Simple Health came highly recommended from a co-worker. I was explaining my system and he suggested that I give acupuncture and cupping try. My first visit was exceptional thevstaff was friendly and warm. I was surprised that they excepted insurance. The benefits coordinator explained Mt options thoroughly and I had no questions. Dr. Scott Eide explained to me the benefits of acupuncture, cupping and receiving chiropractor treatment. After my first session of acupuncture and cupping I felt a notable difference with the pain in my hip and the tension. I felt euphoria feeling after an hour and almost paralyzed sensation. I got home went to bed immediately and had tge best sleep in months. Then I went back for my second treatment even better it seemed that Dr. Scott new exactly where to put the needles. Same sensation the treatment has definitely helped me with my flexibility and strength in the gym. I've had no significant injuries just doing preventive measures. Dr. Mike is Great! I came in with a 10/10 tension headache that I went to the ED twice for. He listened intently and with a combination of acupuncture and cupping along with the heat and pleasant setting, was able to help me quiet my mind enough to ease the tension through my head neck and back and help my headache significantly. Julia Wu was a great! She completely explained how she was going to treat my knee that was in extreme pain. It was my first time doing acupuncture so I was not sure it would help. Over the phone I was quoted $95 for an initial consultation visit, acupuncture and cupping session. I asked if they would honor the GroupOn and they said yes, so I purchase a $33 Groupon and booked the appointment. I arrived early and the receptionist was friendly. The office was clean and relaxing, however there was a big curio cabinet in the reception area, and instead of the normal products one would find at an acupuncture/Massage clinic, it was empty. (I just fount that odd) The room I was led to was also sparse. I don't recall anything on the walls, and it was very clinical. My therapists, Julie, took notes on my history, and checked my neck and shoulder area for tension. (Which she found a lot of). I told her I have had lower and upper back problems for over 20 years, yet she only focued on the upper neck area. I've been to many acupuncturists, and until today, they addressed all of the areas of concern. She placed about 10 needles in my neck and shoulders and said she would see me in 20-30 for the cupping. I found it odd that she never came in to adjust the needles; every other acupuncturist I've been to always come in at least once to twist the needles. There was some relaxing music that played off and on during the treatment, however, I couldn't really hear it as there was something that sounded like a loud fan running the whole time. I eventually fell asleep, until Julie came back in the room. She took the needles out, and I don't recall her wiping the areas down after, like other therapists do. Nor did she rub each spot, like most other therapists do. She started placing the cups around my neck and upper back, (the suction kind, instead of the traditional glass ones that are heated with Flame before applied). It hurt so bad, but I suffered through it hoping I would feel relief afterwards. I know it's been over a year since my last cupping session, but it never hurt like today. I think she over suctioned them. I had to ask her to do my lower back as well. I've never had to ask for that before. All of the muscles, from the gluts to the neck, are connected; and every other cupping session I've ever had, they've done from my neck to my gluteus. I was really hoping for a full neck, upper back, middle back and lower back release, as I am very tense all over. Now, anyone who has ever had cupping done knows that some hickey action happens, however, I have what looks like full blown hematomas, in every spot the cups were placed. I've never bruised up this badly before. I understand that I haven't had a session in more than a year, and I am super tense right now, however, again, I think they were over suctioned. Once the cupping session was complete (after about 15 minutes) she said, "okay, your done" and left the room. She didn't even rub anything on the areas that were cupped. Usually the therapist rubs an herbal ointment on to help alleviate the bruising and soothe the area. She didn't even do a quick massage on the neck and shoulders. I don't know, maybe I've just been spoiled in the past. My appointment was at 2:30. She started the consult at 2:33 (I always check the start time and end time at a new place), and ended the session at 3:35. I felt no relief after the session; in fact by the time I got home I had a full blown migraine. The areas that were cupped are still standing out about an eighth of an inch, and hurt to touch. After a ton of water, heat and cold pack rotation, and several migraine pills later, my migraine has subsided, but my neck and back are feeling worse than before I went in. Had I not had the groupon I would have had a very hard time paying the initial visit price of $95. Who knows, maybe because I had a Groupon (at 1/3 the cost) I received 1/3 the treatment. Needless to say, I will not be returning to Simple Health Acupuncture. Two stars. One for the friendliness of the staff, and one for the cleanliness of the reception area & the comfort of the couch. Oh, and the sheets on the Massage table smelled very fresh and clean. read more

This review is a long time overdue.... I've been coming here for over a year now. Mainly for massage, I have tried other therapies that are offered as well. Front desk staff are friendly and I had no problem with paperwork and billing to my insurance. Chiropractic adjustments and therapy with Dr. Hernandez after my massage (have to book both ahead of time) helps loosen and relax me just that much more. Massages with Shanon, Melina, Paulina and now Genevieve all very recommended. So if you are looking or thinking about it, I'd say give it a try. read more

I've been dealing with stress and some ongoing hip issues for which I had come to this office the week prior for treatment. I decided to make an appointment with this office which I had hoped would be a weekly occurrence moving forward. On Wednesday, 9/9/2020, I scheduled an appointment for 30 minute massage and 30 minute limber session through this company's website. I selected a Saturday 9/12/2020 appointment with Paulina. I called today to confirm the time as I had forgotten whether I scheduled for 11:00 or 11:30 am. To my extreme disappointment I was informed by Christina that I was not in her system. No explanation, apology or solution was offered, other than I could schedule for another day. As a mother of an infant who struggled to find child care and was really looking forward to some much needed care, I am saddened by the callousness and apathy with which my concern was addressed, especially considering this was not my screw up.
