    Weight loss journey
    Priscilla T.

My husband started with this clinic about 5 months ago. What started with a physical to include bloodwork, my husband realized that he was too young to be pre-diabetic with high cholesterol. Being the great dad he is, he was on a mission to lose weight and to live a healthier lifestyle for our daughter. Dr. Cobbinah provided assistance with this process, and offered support along the way. My husband has done a tremendous job with the staff and most importantly Dr. Freda Cobbinah at losing weight! Before this journey, he had several failed attempts at trying to lose weight, but nothing seemed to work. Dr. Cobbinah made the whole process so simple and easy and made him feel a 100% comfortable. I would definitely recommend this clinic to others who need a jump start to a healthy lifestyle. My husband started at close to 250 pounds, and is now under 200. He feels better physically and mentally. Thank you Dr. Cobinnah for giving him hope again.

Dr. Cobinnah is awesome! Everything about this medical practice is 1st class!

I started going to this clinic before 2000. I had been having some issues and nobody could figure…read moreout what the problem was. I went here in hopes of finding some answers and solutions. I was initially seen by Dr. Kevin Kempf and after various tests, x-rays, etc he was finally able to diagnose my condition. Unfortunately, Dr. Kempf moved on to his own office and my insurance didn't allow me to follow him. However, Dr. John Huff took over my case and was a godsend. I was under his care until he retired last year. At that time he sold his practice to Dr. Fernando Silva. After Dr. Silva took over, I assumed he would want to review my case on my first trip in to see him. However, he let his PA see me. Ok, well he will see me on my second trip. No. Again, he let his PA see me. He finally saw me on my third trip but he was less than interested in my treatment. I continued to stay with this office due to the infusion nurse Mary. She was awesome. Unfortunately, 2020 has brought us the pandemic and things went crazy. The night before my March infusion, Mary called to let me know that Dr. Silva was not letting any patients come to the offices for treatment. He was handling everything by phone. That's great, except you can't get an infusion over the phone! They made no plans on how they were going to take care of their infusion patients. Basically, they said "take care of yourself"! Then they had the nerve this week to call and ask if I needed an appointment. What a joke they are! Fortunately, I was able to get in to see Dr. Kempf in March and have happily been with him ever since. A review on his office will be posted soon. If you have need of a great rheumatologist, please stay away from Dr. Silva!

I have history of Lupus Nephritis, and for once in a very long time it is being managed appropriately. Truly, I have never felt better! We're a great team, because let's be real, if you don't put in the effort as well, you'll never get better. I am finally off of prednisone and get better each time I see him. He is so professional, kind and he truly cares. He makes sure you understand everything before you leave. He doesn't rush your care and leaves plenty of time for questions. His office staff has also always been very kind to me. I thank God for bringing me to TX and to this wonderful Dr.

Now back to this Kirby location the Drs. are nice and isn't enough for me to stay. I need a referral and Jeremy tell me I haven't been there since August and I was seen there in November and December. So I'm calling to the Oblate street office where their bosses are at and I had to call & leave messages with David 6 times and he finally called me back at the end of the day on Friday (knowing there was nothing that could be done) he promised to call me back the following Monday or Tuesday and never did and it's been a month. In the meantime I've been leaving messages for their supervisor by the name of Dora Garcia (she's located at the Oblate st. office also). I've left over 23 messages for Dora and not once have I received a return call, I have asked the receptionists if Dora has s getting her messages and every last one has told me yes they've left them on her desk. One receptionist told me Dora is always on her cell phone for personal business so I guess that's why I never received a call back. So I decided to go to Dora's boss which is Dr. Harry Hernandez and I see why I never got a call back and they really don't care.....Dr. Harry Hernandez did didn't return my call either (after 4 messages) so I don't think he really gives a crap either since he might be at a location once a week ( 6 locations) he's so busy between his offices and the hospital these people are doing what they want, losing people medical records isn't good and another thing Nacogdoches or Seguin rd (FM 78) isn't practicing HIPPA they sit right at the front calling patients about various things including medications and reading out their address or phone number loud while they never close the sliding windows. My husband and I shall never return, Dr. Harry Hernandez will not make money off us while he allows us to be treated like trash and if you were smart you wouldn't allow it to happen to you either.

Some very good doctors. If Dr. B, be sure you ask about generics for his recommended meds.read more

I have the confidence in the fact that she knows me and my health. When I had my latest surgery, she once again made sure she gathered the medical information to fully understand what all was going on. The only negative is the appointment availability, if I have something wrong with me my appointments are always next day or within a week. However, if I call to get a physical wellness exam my appointment gets pushed out 4-6 months. It makes me sad because I like to keep tabs on my health every year but having to book so far in advance seems a bit extreme especially since my schedule or circumstances may change during the window that I am waiting. I don't have any chronic illnesses or huge health concerns but diabetes, cancer and high blood pressure run in my family and I would rather be proactive now that I do not have issues in hopes that my preventative measures will allow me to catch an illness earlier rather than later. I do hope they start allowing more flexibility for physical exam appointments. It would be nice if there was a balance of sick visits and physical exam visits available. Also, the front desk staff really needs to work on being more friendly.. I feel that they are always less than eager to help and when you call treat you as if you are a nuisance.
