MITA IS THE BEST and has honestly changed my life! I started working with Mita after a car accident and sports injuries left me with multiple herniated discs in my back, causing Sciatica in both my legs, intense lower and mid back pain, and more. I was going to a different physical therapy clinic, a chiropractor, and a pain management doctor at the time, and wasn't seeing much progress from them. More importantly, I was not feeling like my specific pain points were being addressed; rather, I was being given the same prescription for everyone else with "back pain." Mita is a true healer! I broke my wrist (a distal radius fracture) over 13 months ago and have seen 2 Occupational Therapists and 3 Physical Therapists (including her). The initial treatment that I received from others was to help me get my mobility back at all costs, and only yielded limited results. After I met the 3rd therapist, it looks like I had Complex Regional Pain Syndrome (CRPS) that went undiagnosed for several months. Given the severity of the diagnosis, the type of therapy I needed was very different than what I was getting. This did help, and the pain / tingling reduced, but I was making little progress in mobility and strength in my right wrist and forearm. The first meeting with Mita was incredible. She immediately recognized the issues I was having, the increased stiffness after so many months, and immediately went to work. I want to call her a miracle worker. She helped my wrist and arm, did her thing, and then she did something that is nothing short of a miracle. She started helping me move my arm around (which turns out, I was doing myself unknowingly), a technique called Fascia unwinding. It happened for several minutes in several directions, and I could feel my entire arm and wrist open up. I first learned of Mita through a work colleague and set my sister up with her to help with PT after open heart and, later, hip replacement. She did such a great job with my sister that when I started having knee pain, I made my own appointment. I'm pretty active and have various sports related ongoing injuries that periodically flare up. As a result, I've been seeing various practitioners (PT, pilates, massage, etc) for over 20 years. Mita is the best that I've worked with. As a physician, I've been very impressed with her deep knowledge of how a body works. Mita worked wonder for me. I came to her with pain in my left knee. My orthopedist said it could be an old injury, so we did an MRI. he saw scar tissue and suggested I see a therapist. I was referred to Mita by a few ladies in my tennis class. I was suffering from tennis elbow and they had received treatment from her for the same issue. I had tried other therapies and treatments before, but nothing helped alleviate the pain so I thought I would give PT with Mita a try. Therapy with Mita was different right away. She assessed the problem in my elbow and determined that one key reason my tennis swing was giving me tendinitis was because of lumbar stiffness and range of motion issues. She very gently manipulated the tendons in my arm to help with the pain every session. But also in each session, she went further, and helped me with the range of motion problems that caused me to overcompensate with my arm. After many different types of therapies and other more aggressive therapists, I was very surprised that Mita's gentle approach was just the thing that helped me the most. After six weeks of treatment I was playing tennis again without pain. I highly recommend Mita for specialized and focused one on one treatment.
