The first…read morevisit with Amy went fine, so we scheduled the sale for late July and I signed the agreement. The sale was scheduled for 7/27; closing on sale of the house had been scheduled for 7/30. On the morning of 7/21 Amy and her husband came to the house again. This meeting didn't feel right. They were dismayed that I didn't have an extra set of keys to give them, and that the carport did not have a gate that could be locked. This was the first I had heard about either of these conditions, but I told them I would get a set of keys ASAP, even though I was completely willing to let them in when needed, then leave them alone in the house if necessary (their preference to be alone). I checked the agreement that I had signed, and nowhere does it say that A & A needs their own set of keys. There was nothing I could do about the carport, but nothing more was said. Early that afternoon, 7/21, I received a text that they would not do the sale because of these two issues. Both could easily be fixed, but there was no discussion with me. I had already said I would provide keys (although everyone I mentioned this to thought it was odd), and the outdoor items in the storage sheds could either be set out the day of the sale, or simply omitted from the sale and left in the sheds. Since I do not live in TX and the closing was imminent I was desperate for this sale to happen when scheduled. I literally begged them to reconsider, and they grudgingly agreed. The sale did take place; the results were so-so, but that's not the issue. I'm aware that I was not their ideal client since I was trying to clear out the home of a pack rat and there weren't many items of significant value. If they had reviewed the pictures they took on the first visit and the additional ones that I sent and then decided it wasn't worth their time I might have had time to find someone else. But between hiring them and holding the sale they made no effort to communicate with me unless I contacted them first. And cancelling at the eleventh hour, and by text rather than phone call, was a very low blow that caused me a great deal of stress. Since others appear to have had a good experience with this company I am happy for them; I only wish my experience had been half as good.

I eagerly await the announcement of each new sale & I can't wait until the last hour because they give you as many plastic bags as you want and you can stuff them with ANYTHING that fits...for only $ 5.00 per bag! The only rule is that the bag has to tie shut. I have gotten so much wonderful stuff at a fraction of the value price. You would be surprised at how much you can fit into one of their bags. I have gotten so many incredible purses, cameras, perfumes, crystal & china pieces, collectibles, dinnerware, craft supplies, fabulous scarfs and even some jewelry. I can't rave enough about how excited my friends & I get every time they have a sale. I usually walk away with 3 bags, filled with a total 40-60 items! (You can fit A LOT of beautiful scarfs in one of those bags!) Also, you can sign up to get e-mail alerts for their upcoming sales. The ladies that run the sale are so friendly & easy to deal with.
