The sale was scheduled for 7/27; closing on sale of the house had been scheduled for 7/30. On the morning of 7/21 Amy and her husband came to the house again. This meeting didn't feel right. They were dismayed that I didn't have an extra set of keys to give them, and that the carport did not have a gate that could be locked. This was the first I had heard about either of these conditions, but I told them I would get a set of keys ASAP, even though I was completely willing to let them in when needed, then leave them alone in the house if necessary (their preference to be alone). I checked the agreement that I had signed, and nowhere does it say that A & A needs their own set of keys. There was nothing I could do about the carport, but nothing more was said. Early that afternoon, 7/21, I received a text that they would not do the sale because of these two issues. Both could easily be fixed, but there was no discussion with me. I had already said I would provide keys (although everyone I mentioned this to thought it was odd), and the outdoor items in the storage sheds could either be set out the day of the sale, or simply omitted from the sale and left in the sheds. Since I do not live in TX and the closing was imminent I was desperate for this sale to happen when scheduled. I literally begged them to reconsider, and they grudgingly agreed. The sale did take place; the results were so-so, but that's not the issue. I'm aware that I was not their ideal client since I was trying to clear out the home of a pack rat and there weren't many items of significant value. If they had reviewed the pictures they took on the first visit and the additional ones that I sent and then decided it wasn't worth their time I might have had time to find someone else. But between hiring them and holding the sale they made no effort to communicate with me unless I contacted them first. And cancelling at the eleventh hour, and by text rather than phone call, was a very low blow that caused me a great deal of stress. Since others appear to have had a good experience with this company I am happy for them; I only wish my experience had been half as good.

The sale was conducted very professionally, and we were more than pleased with the outcome. They took care of donating the remaining items, giving us a receipt and photos for documentation of the donation, and left the house cleaner than when we started. I feel sure we would not have come out better conducting a sale ourselves, and would have spent far more time to achieve anything close to their results. Beyond this, the staff was friendly and kind to my mother and our family, and I felt great about their communication. They made it very clear what was included in their service, and handled everything with integrity and transparency. Certainly would use them again or refer them to friends or neighbors needing to conduct an estate sale.

It has nothing to do with emotions it has to do with cash and how much was taken. I'm writing this review almost a year and a half after the incident so there are no emotions that are raw or exaggerated. I really hope my original review remains or else I'm gonna have to redo it. He was also completely transparent every step of the way. I hired an antique appraiser along with Arthur, but in several cases Arthur was more knowledgeable. He found better ways to sell some silver and gold in the house as well as moved all my appliances and got a bunch for some small items that I didn't think were valuable. Finally, he was upfront with his pricing. I knew what the sale and clean out were going to cost and Arthur was honest about what we were likely to make so I could make a good decision going in. They never really looked at anything, missed half the rooms an avoided the closets completely. I don't understand how you could just peek in the rooms and know the value of the item, especially since most items where in boxes. I called 3 other estate sales companies and they all spent about an hour or two and asked lots of questions. I know I don't have a million dollars in stuff, but he could have at least been respectful and spent any time looking at all my items before making an evaluation.

Review of Texas Treasures Estate Sales…read more I am sharing my experience with Texas Treasures Estate Sales, owned by Ava Neal of Lakeside, Texas, so others researching estate sale companies can make informed decisions. This review reflects my personal experience. I contacted Texas Treasures Estate Sales to conduct an estate sale for the contents of my 3000 sq ft home. I did not hire the company to sell the home or select a real-estate agent. During the consultation, Ava Neal walked through the home and reviewed the contents. I explained that the water had been temporarily turned off after the winter freeze and would be turned back on the next day. After reviewing the home and contents, a written agreement was signed for the estate sale. During the consultation, Ava Neal repeatedly encouraged me to contact her real-estate agent and suggested listing the home before the estate sale. I explained several times that my plan was to complete the estate sale First and choose my Own agent later. There were also repeated questions about Guns and Vehicles. I explained those were not part of the estate sale inventory. The property is approximately 3,000 square feet and contained a full household of items already reviewed during the walkthrough. I was also asked who owned the property, and I Confirmed that I am the Owner. Ava Neal asked for a house key multiple times. I explained that I was not comfortable providing a key to someone I had just met, and that I live nearby and could meet at the house whenever access was needed. Access was Never an issue. Some items for the estate sale were boxed and organized in the garage in preparation for sorting and pricing. After signing the agreement, I also set aside personal time to prepare for the sale. The following day, Ava Neal returned with tables and racks typically used to set up estate sales, indicating preparations were beginning. However, during that same visit I was told the home would not generate enough revenue for the estate sale and the agreement should be cancelled, even though the home and contents had already been reviewed and a contract had been signed. I asked what should be done with the contract and was told to Tear It Up. I had waited about a year to arrange the estate sale due to grief and hired a company because my time is valuable and I expected a professional process. When the agreement was cancelled after preparations had begun, the time and effort I set aside were lost. When working with a professional company, customers reasonably expect professionalism, clear communication, and reliability. I am sharing this experience so others researching estate sale companies can make informed decisions. Readers can review information and draw their own conclusions. I feel giving a One Star is too high for this company.
