I swapped half my roasted vegetable sandwich with my wife who had a turkey with avocado sandwich. They were both very good. One thing was that the bottom of mine was soggy but that happens. The turkey sandwich bun was not at all soggy. We enjoyed our drinks and sitting and watching the people go by. The staff were friendly and helpful. You wait for drinks at the counter but they bring food orders to your table. That's a great way to to it as it doesn't take nearly as long to make drinks as it does food. We were walking so I can't comment on parking. I'm sure they have WiFi but I didn't check. I highly recommend Coffee Matters because they've got what I like.

The cafe itself is quintessential Newfoundland simplicity. A must stop on the Irish Loop. Less than 20 minutes from St. John's...if you don't get lost. Most folks here come from town.

I did not enjoy my latte. It was much like drinking a cup of hot milk. Maybe they only use 1 shot of espresso for medium lattes. I didn't ask.... and I also didn't finish drinking the latte. The cookie was 6/10. It was a large and very flat cookie. Not sure what the baking trick is to prevent your cookie batter from spreading out to far and neither do they. The cookie consistency was a crispy around the edge with a soft chewy center. I ate the whole thing. Maybe next time I will try their ice cream but for today I have to say there are other local coffee purveyors I will stick with while I'm here.
