After arriving, I ventured off the ship on my own and made my way to Water Street for a little shopping. While exploring the area, I came across this charming coffee shop. Esther and Jomana were working behind the counter today, and both were incredibly friendly, welcoming, and warm. I ordered a hot mocha latte, a Portuguese tart, and a Nutella strawberry brioche, all of which were homemade. Everything was fresh, delicious, and beautifully prepared. The mocha latte was rich and comforting, while the pastries were the perfect sweet treats to enjoy during an afternoon of exploring the city. I thoroughly enjoyed everything I ordered and was very happy with my choices. Combined with the excellent service from Esther and Jomana, it made for a wonderful stop during my afternoon in St. John's. The pot of tea came out, no sugar or milk. 10 mins pass and I go to counter (which had a big line) and asked for milk, sugar, my sandwich, eggs and smoothie. Said it would be right out. They came and passed my a sandwhich. I realized it was another BLT and not my ham and cheese croissant. Brought to counter and told him wrong sandwich, I ordered the ham and cheese. Sat back down. Smoothie and my correct sandwich about another 10 mins later. Waiting waiting waiting on scrambled eggs. I asked my cousin to go up and ask before I went full Karen lol. She did and they said they are making them now. Came out 5 mins later, at this point my daughters bacon was cold and so was all of our tea. Take away from this: do not get the afternoon tea, just because you made a res, doesn't mean they'll have a table for you. They need more staff and they should not be serving other guests until the guests before them have all their items. Again, nice people but food service was bad. My husband and I love fish cakes so we had to give them a try. They were cod fish cakes, baked just like the window said. They do sell out fast so call to check if it's available or come earlier in the day. They were really good, a little more on the potato side if that's what you're into, but still delicious. Plus the home made tartar sauce was so good, tasted like they made the mayo fresh. Their baked goods also looked divine. Must try in st.Johns
