I found Esteemed Automotive by searching Google to see which shop was closest to my home, and Tim's place was it. Lucky for me, he is highly rated as well. My car AC had a bad blower motor, and over the phone Tim let me know about what it would cost. I was surprised at how reasonable his pricing was and how quickly he could accommodate me. Less than one day after my call, my car was fixed. Unfortunately, my blower fan was the killer of a family of mice that made a nest in it. Granted, my issue didn't involve seriously detailed mechanic work so I can only grade his work on the small job I brought to him, and for that he was very professional, quick, neat, and very reasonably priced. I can also tell you what I found that wasn't expected. Tim was the most polite, friendly, well-spoken and professional auto mechanic I've ever used. Tim is a honest and competent mechanic/ business man. I took my truck in for work due to a trouble code. He checked it out a determined that he thought it was a bad cam issue and advised me to take to dealer and maybe get assistance from the manufacturer due to the extensive work needed. I even asked him if he wanted to do water pump and he advised not to waste money on doing that due to maybe being pointless if worst case engine needed replaced. He was right as it was the cam that needed replaced! Tim also worked on my other vehicle and I was very pleased with his work and prices. Will definitely go back and highly recommend him. The air conditioner on my truck went out a couple of weeks ago, and I was leery of taking it in because I wasn't sure if I could afford it if it turned out to be very pricey. But it's summer in Texas, and I couldn't take it anymore, so decided to take a chance on Tim based on Google/Yelp reviews, and very glad I did. Dropped my truck off to be looked at at 4pm, got a call by 6pm telling me exactly what was wrong and how much it would cost (very reasonable), and the work was done by noon the next day. I highly recommend Tim. There are honest mechanics still around...thankfully I found one of them!!! Best price on brake job and uses Akebono brake pads, more expensive but if you don't like noise and you like a smooth stop, these are the brake pads you want on your car! I had just had my brakes done at another more convenient mechanic shop and they used ceramic pads but they were very noisy, after 2000 miles I couldn't take it anymore. My trusty 1999 Honda Accord was shaking like it was on its last legs and I was worried that it was going to cost me an arm and a leg to keep it going. I went with my gut and had the work done because I plan on driving the car until the frame falls off. Of course my dad was worried that his daughter was being naive but it just so happened that he was the one that needed to pick up the car for me. As a store manager of a local oil change shop for several years, I met Tim through the business of auto care and maintenance. We had a lot of customers come through the lot looking for more than an oil change, and a lot of them were out of the scope of our shops abilities. I live close to Tim's shop, and had seen it several times while out running errands, etc. I called him one day from my store looking to refer a customer of mine to utilize his services to get his vehicle back in working order. He would tell you upfront if he could or could not fix your car, you can definitely trust him. I had multiple issues with suspension and steering and noises were coming from all different places and it drove me crazy (literally). Y'all. Tim is still TOP NOTCH. I hadn't had to take my car in in two years (yay!) but as soon as my blower motor broke today, I called Tim again. To complicate matters for Tim, this is our only car. I said "is there anyway I can get this done in one day?" fully expecting to hear "no" or "bring it in next week when I have the part" or something. My brakes were making a bad sound. Being a women (and fearful of being taken advantage of by a bad mechanic) I approach car repair very carefully. I yelped for one near home and found Esteemed Automotive to have the highest ratings so I gave it a chance. Tim is fantastic! He set up an appointment for me to bring the mini van in. He explained just what was needed and finished the job the same day and in a timely manner. My brakes are now working wonderfully and my pocket book did not take too bad of a hit so I am happy! My old mazda has around 250K miles and a lot of stuff always falling apart on it. It pretty much needs to be replaced, but in the meantime I take it to Esteemed. Tim will treat you fairly and won't jerk you around like a lot of places. He also has high quality standards, so he won't call the job done until it is really and truly fixed. He'll tell you in advance what a job will cost and I don't think he ever exceeded his price estimate on my car, even when the job took longer than expected. Needed some brake work and like everything I do, i called last minute before a trip to see what could be done. Tim was able to fit me in that morning and had new rotors and brake pads for me by the end of the day! For a minute, he thought he'd have to keep it overnight, but everything ended up working out. I don't really have time to work on my own vehicles with my current job and family. As a former mechanic I was stumped trying to figure out the hesitation on the acceleration on my 91 Chevy Blazer. I had just about changed all the fuel parts and Ignition parts I could think of. After explaining to him what it was doing, we went for a quick test drive. He said he's done a lot of these trucks before and it wouldn't be a problem to fix. After he did the diagnosis on Friday, he called me and told me it needed a new distributor and explained why it was hard to pin point the problem it without it being under load. He said it would be ready Tuesday after Labor Day weekend, but early Saturday he called said it was ready (His shop is closed on the weekend). We recently tried to tackle a brake job on our own, but quickly realized that it was more than we could chew when we encountered a very frozen bolt. I moved to the Austin area a little over 4 years ago with my girlfriend and we've had terrible luck with mechanics so far. Being as we both have cars with frequent issues, we've unfortunately had plenty of experience with them. Having recently moved to Pflugerville I was looking for a local place with a good reputation. After reading the Yelp reviews for Tim I decided to give Esteemed Automotive a shot. I had recently been having an odd electrical issue with my car which caused it to sometimes not start and act as though the battery was dead. With my master mechanic skills I figured out that if I jiggled a cable coming from the battery then the interior dome light would come back on meaning that I could start my car. This solution worked with me (though it was embarrassing at times) until this occurred as I was driving down the freeway. As my car died completely with no brake lights, hazard lights, power steering, or power brakes, I finally decided I should get this checked out. Tim had me pull it in and found a loose connection within 3 minutes. He tightened a bolt and sent me on my way free of charge. I asked him about getting my oil changed and he told me that he typically doesn't do oil changes because he's more expensive than the Jiffy Lube's of the world and recommended I go there if I need my oil changed quickly. The only downside is that he's not open on weekends, but seeing as thus far I've gotten my car fixed once for free I can't give any less than 5 stars. I'll definitely be coming back the next time something goes wrong with my car. read more

Couldn't be happier with Tim. I brought my truck into Tim to help with an AC issue that I had no way of knowing what exactly is wrong. I usually do most of the work myself but I stuck. When I took it in to Tim's shop, I told him I thought it was the compressor which is a costly repair but I figured it had to be done. Later the same day that I dropped it off, Tim called me with the good news that it was a minor electrical problem. Tim could have easily replaced the compressor at a high cost to me but he only replaced the parts that were needed and I will be riding around in cool air and a fatter wallet than expected. I could not recommend Tim any more strongly other than to say that he will be getting all of my business in the future. read more
