my regular threading lady is on vacation so i came to devi about ten days ago and unfortunately i…read moream disappointed with my experience. devi was nice but did not treat my skin gently. i came in for full face and neck. she was very aggressive with her threading and made the area under my eyes bleed and my neck bleed. she said "the faster i go the more i numb your skin so you don't feel the pain." the threading aggression destroyed my skin barrier and i am still healing it ten days later. she made unsolicited and uniformed comments about my skin like "i can tell you used to wax because of your pores" amid silence and no conversation. i told her i have not gotten waxed in over six years and she said always get threading because there are no side effects and then she gave me side effects. i had gone to my derm the day before for my checkup who said my glowing skin is progressing extremely well and then it was regressed back from this visit. it was $44 in pawtucket which is more than places in providence. and she did not mention she doesn't have a credit card machine until it was time to pay. there was no else in the salon but me and my friend watching. i unfortunately will not return. i also am shocked by the amount of 5 star reviews on google and how different my experience is based on what i have read.

They always go out of there way to fit my schedule and are flexible with hours, which is important to me since I work full time and I am unavailable on weekends. I will take some responsibility for not doing my research beforehand, but I'm thinking that I can't possibly be the only client who didn't realize that this business was located on the second floor, up a difficult to find staircase, behind a locked door, around several corners and down a not-so-well lit hallway. Once you do find Seductive Lashes, two hours later, and after an extremely vigorous completely unexpected workout, you are greeted by an unsmiling and not-so-friendly owner (but I guess I probably did startle her with my perspiring and exhausted appearance after running around a huge building in search of her business), because who else would pop up at the doorway of their business except someone who has spent the past two hours looking for it? I'm not going to mention her name, mostly because I feel like something happened that prevented her from showing up. The correct staircase is to the right, and go through the grey door at the top of the stairs. The door does appear to be locked, but with a good amount of pull and tug, it will open. Once on the second floor, I honestly can't remember how many twists and turns were involved, but at this point, you are at least in the right area. Pedicures are still great, but during my last visit for nails, my tech put two of my tips on crooked which happens, but they can be reshaped before the clear polish goes on. When I stopped by to have them fixed, the receptionist said my tech was busy and she wasn't sure if the other (available) tech would fix them for me... What? She ultimately fixed them, but she did the bare minimum to remove the old tip extension and glued a new one on top resulting in chunky, uneven nails that clearly stood out from the rest. She was very nice though and didn't charge me anything. I still tipped her $10, even though she told me not to worry about it. The receptionists have treated me like I'm an inconvenience every time I've gone in, but I kept trying because the place is so clean and so beautiful and maybe I just needed to find my new regular. I'm always polite, respectful and patient and have consistently tipped $20 on a $53 service regardless of quality. Oh, beware of hidden costs. I now doubt it was a mistake. Today was the final straw. I had booked an appointment online for 10:15 this morning. I was trying a different tech who was finishing another customer. I had never met her so I didn't know what she looked like, but she ended up being the person who had just finished, got up, walked away, came back out at 10:45 with her car keys and sunglasses and was about to leave when the receptionist remembered me and told her, "Oh, you have an appointment waiting," and pointed at me. Tech came over and said "Oh, what are you here for?" "Dip with tips." She answered "Ohhh, I don't do Dip. I'm allergic to Dip." When you book an online appointment, you have to select your service. I selected Dip. They should have known this would be an issue when I checked in. I had been waiting for 30 minutes for absolutely nothing, because they just stared at me and offered no solution. They also said that I now can not wear contacts for my wedding. I would not have gone if I knew there was even this possibility. and I was refused a refund even though I now am paying for an urgent care visit and can not wear contacts for my wedding. writing this review so this does not happen to anyone else.
