There are 2-3 trails around the park but a bit rugged, so I recommend going when there's plenty of daylight. Parking spots are plenty and the park is pet-friendly. There are also kayak rentals on the river bank below. When we came we hiked the 3/4 mile looped trail behind the playground accessible from the parking lot. There was a bald eagle flying above his beat. Kayakers down below had beached themselves on a sandbar in the middle of the river. A guitarist was jamming and kids were playing in the Sun. Just a picture perfect place to relax and take in the sites.

Since it is relatively new, all the equipment is in good condition and well functioning. Honestly, there are a lot of things to keep kids occupied from swings to slides. I can keep myself busy if you ask me :) There are some benches to sit around/have a picnic but overall not very big. The park is gated so it's fairly secure and there is plenty of parking. There is an adjoining open area if you want to get your dogs and let them play around (note: this area is not a true dog park as there is no place to throw doggy poop other than going back into Ethridge park and throwing it in there). It's in a quiet neighborhood, so you don't hear any traffic or feel like you're even in the city. Most people seem to live close by and walk to the park...but I believe there's street parking near the entrance. My main concern about this park is the same as that of nearby Candler Park -- no public bathrooms. When you're potty training a toddler, it's a serious struggle.

The others the swings are so hot you would burn your bum! Im not sure what geniuses are building playgrounds these days but atleast have some areas shaded! This is not the closest park to the familys house but its worth us going to. The smaller park is good for small children. The larger park has higher play equipment, climbing walls, slides, big kid swings, etc along with things for small children. There are more kids at this part of the park so we do walk over for a few minutes to people watch but since I dont have a walker we really dont spend much time here yet.
