They didn't tell me it was expired while I was there, let me use half of it, then crossed out the expiration date and made it a date in expire 10/30/25. I was unaware they back-dated it because I was in a hurry to put it in my pocket since I was in rush. Fast forward to today, I went to use it and obviously it wasn't honored because of that new date. I understand that it expired and of course I'm fine not using it since it's completely my fault. It was just the most bizarre experience because 1. No one mentioned it was expired the first time I was there (which I would have been fine paying for my pedicure if someone explained that to me instead writing in a new date so couldn't use it again) Also I'm just not sure why they would give me back a gift certificate that I can't use anymore or never mention that it was expired. 2. What kind of place has a 1 week or 1 month expiration date? (Thinking about it I'm wondering if it the date a typo since it was handwritten because most places around here have a 1 year expiration date when I buy them or am gifted them.) Also my nails were different lengths and the polish I used developed white spots on top (it was a light purple) With so many wonderful places in Montclair, I would definitely consider buying a gift certificate somewhere else with a longer expiration date, a more clear policy, or somewhere that will take the time to explain these dates and policies if you have an issue like I did if you are looking to purchase a gift.

They are definitely on the expensive side, but it is almost to be expected for a salon on Bloomfield Avenue in the heart of Montclair. They do not at all rush through their work. All nail techs take their time and ensure the work is done well. My gel pedicure is well over a month old and still looks great, so I don't mind spending a little extra when it will last! The salon is small, cozy and aesthetically pleasing. They have a no cell phone policy which helps keep the vibe there peaceful and relaxing. I suggest making an appointment to cut down on wait time.

I honestly happened to stumble upon it when I decided to go to the 7-11 in the same complex and upon entering immediately got a great vibe just from the decor, ambiance and how friendly and accommodating the owner Chelsea was. I explained exactly what I wanted / needed and she assured me they could meet my needs and made an appointment for me the next day. When I arrived the next day Chelsea remembered my name and immediately got me seated for my gel pedicure and acrylic removal. There were 2 lovely technicians working on my pedicure and acrylic removal simultaneously to make the best use of time. My pedicure was AMAZING! The tech took her time and was very gently yet thorough throughout the entire pedicure and my chrome gel polish wound up looking PERFECT! Next I was seated with Marisol who spent the next few hours removing the rest of the acrylic, applying new gel extensions, applying and shaping the gel precisely , selecting colors and gems to duplicate the photos of designs I wanted and putting the biggest smile on my face with the finished product as it was IMMACULATE PERFECTION !!! Honestly the best set I've ever had in my life and life been getting my nails done for over 30 years. I have found my new nail home and I'm so thankful to have done so on the first try. Jenny did my nails. I don't know how she did it, but they looked great. A few differences between Impress and many other places I've used. There are no ads on the walls, just pictures or wall, which is pleasant. Everything is very clean. The music is soft and not intrusive. It's definitely a store front nail place but it's calmer and more spa like. My manicure has held up well and I still don't know how she did it.
