She tailored my eyebrows to fit my face shape! She's very patient and always checks to see that you like the shape and color before she begins or does any changes. After the first session, the eyebrows were uneven. This was a shock as the natural brows after a…read morebrow wax and tint looks much better. But we were told the the cheek bone and over all bone structure was uneven, so the brow drawing followed such. Later as the brow healed, there were patches that were lightening up, and when it healed for the most part and the color evened, you can really see the unevenness of the brows. It was pointed out by so many people. The only hope, and the excuse we told people, was that it wasn't finished yet, and there would be a second and final touch up. The directions post op were followed to the tee. The final touch up, which is mandatory at this point, was an extra $200 on top of the $500. So that's roughly $700 investment before taxes and fees. We were a little uneducated on pricing of microblading/ombré brows as we only based our patronage from the referral of a person who's eyebrows we saw. Since the visit here, I've travelled to LA and NYC, and asked around Chicago downtown, and saw that the $700 total is up to par to the high-end salons that service brows. Where you're given much more salon treatment during, while waiting etc. I've also seen the works in person of brow artists who have done it on asian oily/dry skin, light colored skin, etc. And there's no problem with patching. The eyebrows also were done very evenly and nice, as if it were drawn in naturally, regardless of bone shape (no one's facial structure is even after all). The other shops also told me that O wouldn't need to come back until 1-2 years, but this place said 8 months to come back and pay $350 for another session. Like what? I retract my first statement. And definitely you're able to find downtown salons with greater customer care that check up on you post procedure for this price. The shape also of the brow isn't that great.

I am surprised by how well the laser hair removal has worked after only two treatments and I hope to get even better results after 2-4 more. Her facilities are clean and nice, but no frills - this is not a pamper yourself experience; it is a cost-effective way to quickly get a treatment that you need. The only negative I can mention is that her hours are difficult if you work during the day - only one Saturday a month and she closes at 5pm during the week.

The number GLAMD provided to those who had prepaid packages goes straight to the voicemail of someone named Jessica @ Pin Me Up Chicago who has yet to return my voicemails. GLAMD will not answer the phone, only sometimes a text message, and has basically left their customers high and dry.

I booked Marissa for ombre powder brows in August, after a friend recommended her to me (this friend has since reversed course and no longer recommends Marissa - we both had the same poor experience). I paid in full for the service, which included a post-appointment touch up. I was initially happy with the results, but they faded after a two weeks. Marissa assured me that the color would eventually "lift" and that I should give it a few months to see better results. Two months later, the color never lifted and my brows had literal GAPS in them, so I reached out in late October for a touch up (the touch up is included in the total price). To book Marissa, you DM her on instagram. I DM'd her on October 14th to schedule a touch up. She responded immediately that she would "get back to me"...two weeks went by with no response. I DM'd her again on Oct 27, and she finally got back to me. We scheduled for the upcoming Friday. I work in consulting, so my schedule is insane, but I was able to rearrange meetings with clients specifically to get this done. Friday at 3:45, as I was already IN THE CAR driving to her salon, she texts me that she needs to cancel. I'm annoyed, but whatever - things happen. We reschedule for Sunday. She completely ghosts me on sunday and never responds to my texts. Finally she responds and we reschedule (for the 3rd time) for Wednesday afternoon. On Wednesday, about half an hour before my appointment (literally as I am getting into my car to drive to the appointment) she texts again that she needs to cancel because of...construction? This was the first time I had heard about this "construction", and it sounded to me like she was running out of excuses to keep cancelling. By this point, I was pretty angry because I had to rearrange my entire work schedule (for the 2nd time). I texted her "You tell me when you you're open and I can move things around". No response. By 7pm that evening, it was obvious she was never getting back to me, and I decided to write her off completely. I texted her and asked for a refund for the touch up that I had already paid for. Again...crickets. I finally gave up - you won, Marissa! Giving Marissa the benefit of the doubt, I would probably guess the reason for this extremely rude behavior is that Marissa is woefully naive and probably should not be running a business in the first place. I doubt her business will be open for much longer if this is the client experience she is offering her clients. On the other hand, it's possible she's running a scam. Guess I'll never know. TL;DR: There are plenty of other options for brow services in Chicago - don't risk your time and money on Marissa.
