I used Yelp's Request A Quote to find a roofer/contractor. And considering our leak happened on a Sunday night, that's when I reached out to several companies. Many got back to me within the hour, including River City Vinyl Supply & Roofing. And if it weren't for a rainstorm on Monday, he would have come out that day. But he was able to come and look at the problem and have it fixed within an hour or so on Tuesday. John was speedy yet not pushy. He brought with him one of his employees, who actually got on our very tall roof to look at the problem. He talked through what he found with me and sent me a formal quote before proceeding. Turns out the flashing had pulled away from the chimney, and the mortar between several of the bricks had worn away. He showed me some photos of the roof to help me understand. After he was done, I was able to pay him easily via PayPal. And now we're talking to him about tackling our rickety, falling apart gutters as well. 2 1/2 years ago I had a roof and 3 skylights put in. About 10 months later I noticed the large…read moreskylight had almost a complete oval with multi colors in it. I t was replaced. It wasn't even cleaned when put in. The small one in the bathroom had a pink 1-inch strip all around it when looking up. They came out said not sky light. Had them come out and look at the problems . They cleaned the sky light. I think the sky lights are cheaply made. A year ago I noticed a 2 inch crack on ceiling and all down the walll. A perfect line up from the sky light and wall. After alot of phone calls they came out and said it looked like a nail had come up. They looked at walls and ceiling. They hammered it down. Still leaking. Sent video of wall and ceiling leaking. Never heard back. Called a few more times. They said they got the video. Came out and found there was 4 or 5 shingles that was the problem. This was October. If they would have checked the shingles, it could have saved months of trouble. Asked if they were going to repair my ceiling and wall. He said he would check back and call me. Called in mid-December and left message. Fast forward February, called left message again. Called again. Got a call from the guy making the repairs. After a year, it is done. I hope it holds up. I am not sure. They had a habit of not returning calls. It was a nightmare. I have a list of all my caIls to and from them. Not enough room here to write of everything. I would not recommend them. This took much too long to fix a problem they had created.

By the way, the repair was made on a cold winter day. Fast forward to a couple weeks ago. Our house is almost 20 years old. One of the recent Spring storms blew off a couple shingles right at the bottom of our roof. Fortunately it was located at a spot where two sections of my roof comes together and there was several layers of shingles, so there was no leak. I had Beto come out and look at my roof. Beto said I didn't need to worry about it leaking, it would be OK until I decided to put on a new roof. That said, I asked Beto to just go ahead and work up an estimate for a new roof. While Beto was on my roof looking around, my neighbor came over and asked Beto to look at his roof and work up an estimate for him. My neighbor had already obtained several estimates for his roof. Three days later both me and my neighbor received our estimates. My neighbor stated Beto's price was significantly lower than his previously obtained estimates. We both decided to go with Unlimited. I should mention all of the materials used were high quality. The underlayment was Rhino U20. The shingles were Owen's Corning Duration True Dimension. Ice and water shields on all valleys. All new roof vents and accessories. Both my neighbor and I felt like it was a very good deal. Both houses needed approximately 53 squares of shingles. The crew of 4 showed up about 3 weeks later. It took them two and a half days to roof my house. Then they started on my neighbor. The crew was led by Angel. The entire crew started every morning around 7am and worked 8 to 12 hours each day. I received an additional perk at no cost since I brought my neighbor in to talk to Beto. Unlimited added an additional roof vent for my range hood. Additionally they connected the range hood to the new vent saving me quite a few dollars. And yes, they used rigid pipe that is double walled and code in Indiana. Angel spent at least 2 hours installing the vent and connecting it. Reading this you're probably thinking, why not 5 stars? Unfortunately, there was some miscommunication between Beto (the sales/estimator) and Angel the installer. My house is located around numerous mature trees and was originally built with wire mesh gutter guards. They had served their purpose pretty well. I asked Beto if the gutter guards would pose a problem. He said no. When the roofing crew removed my old roof they damaged most all my gutter guards. One particular section was totally destroyed. Angel and his crew made a half hearted attempt to bend the guards back to being usable. The one section they destroyed, they totally replaced with better guards than I had. I still felt like most all the guards should be replaced. However, I was already contemplating buying new gutters so I would address that issue at that time. Finally, the cost of my roof saved many times over what new guards would cost so I'm still way ahead! Review of new gutters and gutter guards is coming.
