What Jess brings to the table is something more, which was a genuine concern for my child. On one of our conversatios she said " I went on this run and I was thinking about"... she was thinking about my kid and how to help. She made me feel like we ( we because as parents, things that affect our kids affect us) were "seen." I think more often than not people get complacent in their careers, including the medical or mental health field, which I would chalk up to human nature. However, she never made me feel like my kid was number or just another patient. She was someone going through something and Jess was going to figure it out. We had to stop seeing Jess due to some circumstances out of my control. Which only lead us to a merry go round of therapists and it wasn't until then, that I was able to fully appreciate her, not only for her emotional investment in my child but also for her instincts, which were proven to be spot on. While on that mental health merry go round, I learned that not every therapist has the capability to convey a genuine sense of commitment and concern for their client/patient , however Jess did. Taking on someone else's emotional pain, trauma, anxieties and fears has to be one of the hardest jobs I could imagine, especially when it comes to children...so I can understand having and internal shut off valve and not fault anyone needing to enact that protective mechanism. But as a parent who's child hurts....I sure as shit want someone who sees my kid, as I see them. Once again I saw Jess early in her career. Not only do I magine that she has gotten better with time but I imagine now that she has her own practice, she chooses people who values their clients as much as she does. ...I did recently refer someone here and they had positive reviews about Jess, Teena and the facility.

I was really struggling with my husband dying of cancer and he treated me like he could care less. As a result, I've decided to seek care elsewhere for my medication needs, as there's no justification for such high costs for a three-minute appointment. Long version: I was originally apprehensive because I couldn't find any reviews for Dana, and when I saw she worked 16 years as a midwife I worried she would be like some of my previous psychiatrists/doctors who made me feel uncomfortable about not wanting children or about being gay. But I really needed an appointment ASAP and she was the soonest available so I went out on a limb and I am sooo glad I did. Dana was absolutely wonderful. I have very bad anxiety and find it difficult to talk to people and I'm easily put off, but Dana was incredibly easy to talk to, kind, understanding, and she made me feel comfortable right away. I never felt judged, dismissed, or pressured. I felt listened to and respected, which made a huge difference. You can really tell she cares! I highly recommend paperflower to anyone. I like the telehealth option, which requires some self management. Phone calls if not answered do have a 24 business hour return which can be up to 3 days if you do the math. I believe that's because they have a good system via email and online scheduling to help yourself. Emails are almost always returned same day. If I had to guess dealing with psychiatric patients over the phone is just overwhelming, but I am able to get to a live person when needed, and billing always picks up immediately. Billing was willing to 3 way call my insurance to get everything covered. Thx!! You will need to know how to schedule appointments online at their website and in advance, this isn't the place for people who wait for the last minute. I've only been asked to drug test once I got on schedule (I,II) meds, and honestly doing outside drugs will affect your treatment; so I get the policy. My only confusion was when they let an NP go, she just sort of disappeared and no showed my appt. But I returned to seeing Dr A, and he is very invested in my care and is an active listener. He's empathetic to side effects and it's been nearly a year of stability for me which is unheard of. I'm so thankful.
