They have ITY, spandex, rayon, Lycra, ponte, Liverpool-esque, super techno, lace, linen, wool blends and so much more. I'm a discount fabric shopper so my favorites were the large $2 section and the remnant bin next to the cutting table. The customer service was great. They also have a small parking lot so you don't have to worry about parking on the street.

So when a friend and I were in NYC for a long weekend a few weeks ago, I really wanted to stop by the storefront when were shopping in the Lower East Side (I had only bought online previously). I'm so glad we stopped in. It's just as colorful and fun and wild in the store as the website and all of her designs are (even the storefront from across the street is something fun and joyful). The store is small, so they don't sell everything in the shop that they have online, I don't think. I personally love Susan Alexandra's Judaica collection (mezuzahs, dreidels, menorahs) and her home goods (glassware, tableware, etc), and I didn't notice much of that in the store. You can find a lot of jewelry and bags - as well as some other items, and they are set up so you can make your customize your own charm bracelets or necklaces in the store (they do it right then and you have it in your hand in no time at all). I wanted to replace a charm bracelet I had lost, and I wanted the charms from their Jewish deli necklace but in bracelet form. No problem - quick and easy - and I walked out wearing it. The service at the store was great (two employees were there when I was - one doing checkouts and one doing the custom jewelry, so I got to speak to both of them and they were both lovely, friendly, helpful). Not everything at Susan Alexandra is for me (I'm a middle millennial, and a lot of her designs just scream "FOR GEN Z ONLY" and seem too young for me), but it's still such a fun store to visit and you might find something you love. The Indian shops in Edison New Jersey are more expensive than this place. But the staff act like it's equivalent to Hermes or something. Truly rude service. They were snapping at us assuming we couldn't afford anything before even asking our price point. They basically were trying to get us to leave and making insulting comments the entire time. When we asked a staff member a question they told us that they are sick of people coming and thinking they can get an outfit for only 2k, but we never said we would only spend 2k, they just made assumptions. Then she angrily said she's helping other people and implied we should leave. Not a good experience here. Stick to designers like Falguni Shane Peacock or Anita Dongre and get luxury designs with way better service. The doorman was very very nice! That's one positive about the experience.

I'm posting this to warn other artists…read more DOORS NYC approached me more than once to show work. My framed prints were displayed for a long time with no sales. Then I received last-minute messages demanding the work be removed quickly, including repeated language about disposing of the work if it wasn't handled immediately. Mind you, I live in Los Angeles. Communication with the assigned "success manager" was consistently frustrating--delayed/inconsistent replies paired with urgency and escalation. When I asked for photos/verification of the condition and packing before shipment, she refused to reopen the package. After the work arrived damaged, the response was to push blame back on me and frame it as a UPS/insurance issue, rather than taking responsibility for how the return was packed. When the shipment arrived back, it was clear almost immediately there was a problem--crushed box corners, inconsistent sealing, and multiple framed pieces placed directly against cardboard with inadequate padding. The result was damage to 8 of 12 frames (about 75%). This was entirely avoidable with basic common sense & protective packing. I documented the unboxing on video and provided photos. I requested reimbursement for frame replacements at cost and escalated to leadership with no reply. I'm leaving this review to warn other artists: avoid them at all costs -- my work was returned damaged and they took zero accountability.

I ended up choosing a couple of vintage books for gifts and along with some pleasant conversation, the staff was able to gift wrap them in the most ornate way. It was well worth the visit alone to watch these ladies wrap. The books themselves were about $15-20 per book which honestly is not bad. But I do value others opinions as well. Even though I had a great time here, it may be worth it to read others opinions on the shop especially if you are an antiques buff (unlike myself). But for a unique gift I'm sure my friends will love, I recommend this place!

As soon as we walked in, there was a large bottle of hand sanitizer by the entrance, and the owner immediately said, "Excuse me, sanitize your hands." The tone was demanding rather than welcoming. As a business owner, that's not the way to greet potential customers. I smiled and politely replied, "I'm sorry, I can't use that. I'm severely allergic." She responded, "You can't stay unless you do." I then held my hands to myself and said, "I won't touch anything." Her response, verbatim, was "Then you can just leave." Throughout the exchange, she smiled sarcastically and spoke in a snarky, dismissive tone. It took everything I had to remain composed in front of my children. I have a documented medical condition that prevents me from using alcohol-based hand sanitizer. I politely explained my disability-related limitation and offered a reasonable alternative so I could still shop without touching any merchandise. Rather than discussing any accommodation or offering another option, I was simply told to leave. I left feeling embarrassed, humiliated, and discriminated against because of my medical condition. Based on this experience, I will be filing a formal complaint with the U.S. Department of Justice under the Americans with Disabilities Act so this incident can be reviewed. I hope the owner takes the opportunity to learn how to respectfully interact with customers who have legitimate medical disabilities and understands the importance of considering reasonable accommodations. I cannot recommend this business, and I hope no one else with a medical disability is treated the way I was.
