Another place I visited looking for visual stimulation and creative inspiration. This is a beautiful show house, and the only one in the United States. I loved all the art on the walls and seeing the gleaming golden purses and belts, the colorful dresses. I agree with another reviewer who states this is like a museum. The main reason I give it four stars is because while the staff was nice, I was followed the whole time, when I really just wanted to enjoy the scene. I understand they have a job to do, and part of that is to ensure their wares stay safe and secure, but it made the experience uncomfortable and I didn't spend nearly as much time looking around as I would have liked.

Listen, even if you are not looking to buy something, immerse yourself into this space for an insight into Calcutta's culture. The space is basically a museum with walls filled to the rim. The staff is incredibly nice, they checked in with us a few times. I think I had low expectations since Desi boutiques in Edison, NJ have below subpar service. I wanted to buy an accessory but you're not allowed to touch the accessories... Price tags are also blacked out on clothing materials, which you can touch.

Wow, wow, wow!! I wish I could say that I went here to buy a garment for my wife or sisters or mom, but sadly I did not. There is truly something for everyone - everyone who has enough disposable income! The entire place feels ultra luxurious - as if you are transported into a royal palace in India the moment you step inside. Not sure about the value you get here - but it would definitely be a perceived value of how you feel or how others feel about you, knowing you are wearing Sabyasachi. If those kinds of things tickle your fancy, then by all means, come here to shop till you drop. I came with my sisters and brother to peruse the selection because neither of us have been but were curious on what's here. Definitely did not disappoint. This is not for everyone, but those who are looking to wow at see-or-be-seen events. Service is impeccable, just like you would expect at this establishment. Fun experience regardless.

This store is an absolute dream. I'd highly recommend visiting just to see Sabyasachi's vision & attention to detail, everything is integrated so beautifully. I ended up buying two clutches, earrings,& their belt. The staff was super helpful & walked me through everything, luckily the store was pretty empty so I had a lot of time to walk around & didn't feel rushed. It feels great to support an Indian designer & I'm so happy to see his first international store!

I stopped by on a Monday and there was no line! The employees were all very friendly and assisted in answering all my questions and concerns. The New York location has various sarees and lenghas. They offer bridal wear, you can make an appointment online. The store also offers various accessories from Bags to jewelry. The store was beautiful! I felt like I was walking through an art gallery.

Sabyasachi is a store that screams luxury: it's a space filled to the brim with ornate pieces that evoke a sense of intentional curation and awe of the rich heritage of Bengal. I have seriously seen museums less nicer than this boutique. The space is very extensive, and to really experience the selection of jewelry and clothing, you would probably need to book a consult. Between the warm, dimly lit ambience and an absolutely gorgeous, but limited, selection of jewelry and clothing on display, Sabyasachi is a treat for the eyes. Despite the luxury feel, however, the staff is very friendly. I have only stepped in to window shop and appreciate the glamor, but every time the staff was super friendly and made you feel welcome. They also encourage people taking photos, so it did not make me feel self conscious by any means! I would highly, highly recommend checking out this boutique if you are in the area!

The most awaited store opening for Indian fashion designer Sabyasachi Mukherjee is here! Brides no longer need to travel to India for dresses, but can experience the luxury of this brand in NYC. They carry western wear, accessories, and jewelry too. The store is massive and exudes luxury and class down to each detail. Clothing is made custom to fit and can take a few months to complete. They also have an in-house seamstress that can stitch a sari blouse at extra cost.

Intricately beaded Sabyasachi bags amongst adorned antique books.

Note that I've previously stepped inside the shop to survey the selection, and last night I stopped in for what was only supposed to be a quick moment... The owner greeted me and almost immediately started talking prices. This is $20 dollars and we have that for $25 dollars, but this is a little more expensive, and that's this price. Oh, that fascinator is beautiful on you and you can put it layaway. It was just $79 dollars, mind you. Excuse me? It's such a turn-off when people see brown skin and assume that the purchase would be unaffordable without a payment plan! Not to mention, I started off by noting that I was only taking a quick peek on my way to pick up my Nordstrom purchase. Though I promptly told her that I don't need layaway and I pay for things outright, I had already decided that I wouldn't be buying from there. Her fixation on talking to me about price was all I needed to hear. Nothing disgusts me more than when people make assumptions! I have beautiful vintage hats in my collection, fine jewelry and quality costume jewelry, and beautiful bags that I've purchased abroad. She could've had a repeat customer who prioritizes quality goods and, more importantly, quality service.

My order arrived with missing items despite paying oversized shipping and waiting days for delivery. Since then, I've been stuck in an endless cycle of apologies with almost no action. After nearly a week of emailing back and forth, I was asked to provide my order details again. Why? The entire email trail already contains everything they need. Instead of reviewing the case history, each representative seems to start from scratch, wasting the customer's time because they can't be bothered to read their own correspondence. Muji has mastered the art of apologizing without actually resolving anything. Every response is filled with sympathy and promises to "look into it," yet there is no urgency whatsoever to fix a mistake that was entirely their responsibility. Once they have your money, you're left waiting while your case sits in limbo. For a company that promotes quality and simplicity, their customer service is anything but. Poor communication, zero ownership, endless delays, and customers forced to repeatedly chase for updates. Paying extra for oversized shipping clearly doesn't translate to better service when something goes wrong. If you're lucky enough to receive your order intact, you'll probably have a good experience. But if there's a problem, don't expect Muji to treat it like a priority. Based on my experience, their customer service is all apologies and no accountability.
