One star for the interior and another for the designs. However, the service was horrendous. The staff assume you can't afford their knockoff of luxury brands. The Indian shops in Edison New Jersey are more expensive than this place. But the staff act like it's equivalent to Hermes or something. Truly rude service. They were snapping at us assuming we couldn't afford anything before even asking our price point. They basically were trying to get us to leave and making insulting comments the entire time. When we asked a staff member a question they told us that they are sick of people coming and thinking they can get an outfit for only 2k, but we never said we would only spend 2k, they just made assumptions. Then she angrily said she's helping other people and implied we should leave. Not a good experience here. Stick to designers like Falguni Shane Peacock or Anita Dongre and get luxury designs with way better service. The doorman was very very nice! That's one positive about the experience. read more

I had an absolute horrible experience. I've gone to many high luxury stores and the treatment we received from this store is truly disappointing. We were exploring the store and looking at their non-bridal clothes. We went through the hallway which leads to the bridal section to admire their beautiful decorations. We were asked MULTIPLE times by a lady if we were okay in a passive aggressive way. One of my friends went to the bathroom and the same lady told us it was only for the staff. Mind you - there was no sign indicating it was and clearly through their prices they can very much afford a sign indicating it. We decided to move away from the bridal section to respect the bridal parties into the non-bridal lounge. The same lady asked everyone if we were okay. The entire time she made my friends and others uncomfortable and that we need to leave even if we could afford the prices. We decided to speak to the manager, Salvic, and he just dismissed us. He wasn't really listening to our concerns which felt so frustrating. The only person who was the best was nice black gentleman by the door. He truly was such a sweet person and made us felt heard. However I will NEVER come back. Sabyasachi needs to reconsider their staff considering many people can easily go to India to purchase bridal dresses there for a MUCH cheaper rate AND with MUCH better customer service. I've gone through most of the reviews on Google and Yelp - many people have repeated the same concerns I have within my review. This company needs to address this huge and clear problem since customers service is crucial to run a business. Their current customer service is terrible and ruining a potential customer/clients experience. read more

Another place I visited looking for visual stimulation and creative inspiration. This is a beautiful show house, and the only one in the United States. I loved all the art on the walls and seeing the gleaming golden purses and belts, the colorful dresses. I agree with another reviewer who states this is like a museum. The main reason I give it four stars is because while the staff was nice, I was followed the whole time, when I really just wanted to enjoy the scene. I understand they have a job to do, and part of that is to ensure their wares stay safe and secure, but it made the experience uncomfortable and I didn't spend nearly as much time looking around as I would have liked. read more

Listen, even if you are not looking to buy something, immerse yourself into this space for an insight into Calcutta's culture. The space is basically a museum with walls filled to the rim. The staff is incredibly nice, they checked in with us a few times. I think I had low expectations since Desi boutiques in Edison, NJ have below subpar service. The service and designs were really disappointing. Purses look like knock off Chinatown designs. Of the three staff members, two were occupied with other clients with no acknowledgment of our presence and the third just told us to wait for the next available associate, with no estimate of how long that would be. We waited over 20 minutes with no further update, and entire sections of the store were closed off. The doorman truly was the highlight, but everything else fell flat. Wow, wow, wow!! I wish I could say that I went here to buy a garment for my wife or sisters or mom, but sadly I did not. There is truly something for everyone - everyone who has enough disposable income! The entire place feels ultra luxurious - as if you are transported into a royal palace in India the moment you step inside. Not sure about the value you get here - but it would definitely be a perceived value of how you feel or how others feel about you, knowing you are wearing Sabyasachi. If those kinds of things tickle your fancy, then by all means, come here to shop till you drop. My family and I visited the New York location. it was very welcoming as you entered by the doorman . There was no one in sight to offer assistance, it was like you enter a beautiful museum. We had to yell out for direction where the wedding clothing was displayed . Once again no one around , we had to yell again for assistance and had to asked if there were more bridal wear . The gentleman brought out 3 styles very unwilling . His execution of salesmanship was very poor and his many comments was discouraging. it was like we profiled and . like only one person can be in the dressing room because the clothing will get damage . We were interested in buying a $19,000 outfit but very unhappy with the service by the salesman . We left disturbed how we were treated and vow never again visit or support the product . it seen to me this brand don't need the business from ordinary folks but only if you are a celebrity or you have to do some serious customer training in your New York location read more

They offer bridal wear, you can make an appointment online. The store also offers various accessories from Bags to jewelry. The store was beautiful! Sabyasachi is a store that screams luxury: it's a space filled to the brim with ornate pieces that evoke a sense of intentional curation and awe of the rich heritage of Bengal. I have seriously seen museums less nicer than this boutique. The space is very extensive, and to really experience the selection of jewelry and clothing, you would probably need to book a consult. Between the warm, dimly lit ambience and an absolutely gorgeous, but limited, selection of jewelry and clothing on display, Sabyasachi is a treat for the eyes. Despite the luxury feel, however, the staff is very friendly. I have only stepped in to window shop and appreciate the glamor, but every time the staff was super friendly and made you feel welcome. They also encourage people taking photos, so it did not make me feel self conscious by any means! I would highly, highly recommend checking out this boutique if you are in the area! read more

This place screams IYKYK! The only reason I came here is because of my family, who really wanted to visit the location, the 1st storefront in the United States (I think?). Located in the Archive Building, home to plenty of apartments that seem to have a lot of negative ratings haha, the store brings you back into the old world Kolkata valor. More British India, for sure, but you can definitely feel the mystic vibes. Definitely opposite vibes of the residential units. Walking inside, you kinda feel like you're in a museum more than the store. I felt like I was staring at the artwork and architecture. The dim lighting definitely gives you that feeling. It also seems to attract a lot of visitors, both Indian and non-Indian. I think it'll be one of those unintentional tourist hubs quickly. Apparently, I think there's a limited viewing of the jewelry. As in, only a limited number of people can view at a time. You almost get that feeling that there are hidden rooms too. It's kinda thrilling. Only bummer probably is that I wish this was in a better location. Yes, this place fits the West Village vibes, but I wish it was closer into Soho than near the West Side highway where the brisk Hudson River can make walking around the area a bit of an expedition. They carry western wear, accessories, and jewelry too. The store is massive and exudes luxury and class down to each detail. Clothing is made custom to fit and can take a few months to complete. I had a fantastic experience finding my reception dress for my wedding. I told Alexx Dunn my budget and he found the perfect piece for me. He was so kind, patient and warm throughout the time. I did not have an appointment but came in Thursday afternoon where the store was relatively less busy. The store manger Shamy also went out of her way to assist after Alexx's appointment came in early and the transition was so smooth and seamless. Truly felt like I had a princess diaries moment and the amazing designer sir was also around the store too!!! For those interested in browsing, perusing and seriously buying recommend coming in Monday- Thursday as the store is less busy and can accomodate trying on dresses. 1000/10 experience. read more

There was a small crowd starting to form outside the store of eager potential customers. The store would not answer the phone or emails, and there was no indication that the store would be closed on this day. I visited the new Sabyasachi boutique in NYC in the Fall of 2022. Boutique is probably not the right word to describe this place. It's more like a beautiful museum! There are multiple rooms throughout the store each dedicated to a different type of product: accessories, evening wear, fusion wear, and jewelry. Throughout the store, artifacts related to Sabyasachi's life and design aesthetic are displayed throughout the store, much akin to a museum or gallery. It truly is a unique experience! Despite its beauty, I did not understand a few of the store policies. 1. In the large back room is where they kept the bridal and formal outfits. The selection was really limited to more fusion clothes rather than the traditional bridal outfits that most desis covet. In addition, they only had 1 sample size of everything. (All clothes had to be custom-made in India). Im not sure that is going to be helpful for people that are not a size 2. 2. In the front room is where the accessories are housed - belts, bags, and shoes. But even here we were told that most of the accessories had to be ordered in India and shipped within 3 - 4 weeks. Im not sure if that is a permanent store policy or something temporary due to the store being new. If it's a permanent policy, they need to change it. Very few in the US will buy a bag or pair of shoes and then wait a month to get them shipped in. This is a strange way to run a boutique that has no stock of anything you are selling. And in NYC, no less, where it is so expensive to maintain a retail store. Overall the experience was great, but when the hype of the new store runs out, I don't see the longevity of this store, unless they start to change some of their store policies. read more

Wow! Wow! Wow! I've been to the store twice already. First time it was a bit crowded and I don't believe they had enough staff for the crowd but the second time I went was truly magical. I think it's better to go on the weekdays when there's less people. Anywho, I met the manager Shammi and the sales associate Claudia. Firstly both women were stunning but Shammi who gave me the tour was not only the best looking woman I've ever seen in my ENTIRE 42 years on earth, she was passionate about the brand, elegant and surprisingly funny. She took me all around the store and showed me every nook and cranny there. Thennnnnn!!! She made me traditional IndIan tea and cookies, she showed me jewelry and special art pieces. She even got me to try on items. I've never heard of the brand before stopping in but now I'm a true fan. I had my husband go back and buy me the silk set Shammi had me try on and now I'm obsessed. Although now I know the importance of the brand I think the designer did a amazing job with the diversity of the staff. To get people of different cultures to fall in love with a Indian designer you need diversity and passionate ppl which I think he nailed it at this location! I hope to see more of that in the campaigns to come but I'm jumping ahead. Just wanted to say I don't believe I've had a better experience in a retail space and I've been around the world.
