I was headed to Pep Boys Auto Parts, Tires & Service when I accidentally stumbled upon this place. I noticed business as I was driving by and asked the tow truck driver if we were able to stop here instead and he agreed. I walked in & was immediately assisted by Renato who was very patient, courteous and professional. I replaced one of my tires and the process only took about 25-30 mins. The waiting area was work friendly with hightop tables, chairs and Wi-Fi. The waiting area was also very clean and equipped with coffee, tea and snacks. Pathetic! I was furious at the time I originally wrote as much as I did while venting, not to mention "shocked". I'm over it and not even upset, but just truly amazed. It seems to me that staying loyal as a customer doesn't count for anything there. Be careful with Danny. His conduct toward customers is childish and obnoxious and I never knew any car service associate before who could be intolerant toward patrons. I've known petty people before and if there is any little thing about you that's the least bit different, that he doesn't like or that makes him jealous, he will take his anger out on you like you're some punching bag, which is what he did with me. Omg if you're male and you're not one who goes for superficial "guy talk" looking for "bar buddies", it seems to be on that level lately, and he seems to look for any excuse to take liberties with that sure. Something is not right with the way that place is managed. I trusted the service there for several years since a highway accident requiring a tow truck driver to bring my car there for major repairs that were handled well at the time. Now my trust in that business is down the drain. Unless you want to waste your time there, look elsewhere. That kind of disrespect isn't worth a penny more of my money for sure and whether everything has been fixed and serviced right on my car before no longer matters. I would give that store location a negative rating, i.e. below zero if I could. I don't do business anywhere for any kind of humiliation or personal put down. I don't regret deciding and sticking what I thought was right at the time but it's certainly time for me to move on. read more

The team here is terrific! They understand the meaning of 'Customer Service' and provide it willingly and with a smile! I have been a customer for a few years - first with tires that they were able to special order (only took 1 day for them to receive the tires), then a replacement tire, and then in Nov '24 to replace the front brakes (rotors/pads, etc). Unfortunately, the brakes developed a vibration, so today they tested (and then re-tested), inspected and replaced the brakes all under warranty, without hesitation and with full descriptions of the issue they found, how they corrected it to ensure that it shouldn't happen again. All with a positive attitude and 'we are glad you are our customer' approach! Their prices are fair, and the service they provide is excellent!!! I highly recommend them!!! I needed new back tires which were going to be pretty pricey. He took the extra step to call Michelin directly and advocate for me on some "tread policy" that Michelin almost never approves for warranty coverage. ETD Tires is similar to visiting the dentist... you never can be actually excited or happy to visit and it's going to hurt your wallet but a necessary evil and afterwards when the novocaine wears off you can appreciate the work that was done earlier. I've been coming here for many years through a handful of vehicles and I've always found them to be courtesy, honest, friendly, priced fairly and more times than not I got my car by the end of the same day (which is crucial when you only have one 'family wagon' and it's the weekend when you have a slew of errands to run). I pulled in at 5:23 pm and asked the guy if he can look at my tire. He said I have a nail in my tire and I should park the car and go pay inside. I get inside and wait in line for 10 minute. The bald headed guy up front says ah man I cant help you because it's 5:30 pm and we are closing. Mind you there was no cars at all and 3 guys sitting around talking. I said so you can't help me? He said I guess I can put air in your tire. I said ok so why did the other guy make me park? and he said he doesn't speak to customers he has no idea what I do in here and I say who gets serviced. Complete asshole. I can't believe this is a so called family owned place. Here are pictures to show they are not busy. Guess they don't need the money or customer retention. If you don't want to work after 5:23 pm then change your hours. Ended up driving to J&J tires nearby and they took me right away and were extremely nice. Women BEWARE! These guys are dishonest and take advantage of people. Reluctantly, I went there this morning to have a screw removed from my tire and the outcome was exactly what I expected. After a 40 minute wait, I walk over to the counter to ask if there is any update on my car and the guy at the counter tells me that the tire needs to be replaced. I ask why and as he shows me a diagram with the location of the screw marked out and says that it's too close to the trite tread. I immediately tell him to take my car off the lift and return my keys. I follow the guy to my car that was still on the lift and I pint to the screw and say, that's the screw? He confirms. The screw was not close to the wall. It's disgusting that these places try to take advantage of women. Word of advice, we are not all without knowledge of how cars operate and what is required to fix them. On my way home, I found a local flat fix 3 blocks away and guess what, they repaired the tire for $15. I guess miracles do happen. read more

Never.again. Dropped my car off for an 11 a.m. appointment because my check engine light was on. By 4 o'clock I still hadn't even gotten a call about a diagnosis. I gave it until 4:40, when I called them to see what was going on I was left on hold for 5 minutes, only to be told they had to call me back after speaking to a technician. I waited until 5, and still no call. So I drove over there only to find out my car hadn't even been looked at! They insisted they'd take it in right away to diagnose it so I decided to give them one more chance. By 5:40 I was still sitting there with no diagnostic..they close at 6! The cashier explained that they could put a patch on the tire for $31.50 or replace the tire for $103.00. They took an honest look at the tire and put a patch on the tire. They were quick, professional and polite. They did not use my lack of aotomobile knowledge to take advantage of me. This occurred during the Coronavirus pandemic which may have hurt their business. They are very busy on saturdays so definitely make an appointment if you can. We only got tire rotations and oil changes, but we had no problems. Prices were what they should be. Let's face it: you probably went here not wanting to spend the money. Hard for the average person to get enthusiastic about having to go to a mechanic for anything. This place seems to be reasonably priced for the area, the service is diligent and courteous, and they're pretty quick. I bought two tires on Amazon, they had no issue with me bringing the tires for them to mount, balance, and do the alignment. They told me about issues with my tie rods preventing the alignment, but didn't pressure me to get it done with them. So in the end, one new tire and three of them mounted, walked out for under $100. I am an extremely satisfied customer of ETD Discount Tires. I drive as a side job for Lyft rideshare, and as any Lyft driver in New Jersey will tell you it doesn't pay a whole lot of money and tires are an expense that often comes up as an emergency situation that you have to take care of and you don't always have the money to do it so I had waited for about 2 weeks to fix my slow leak and then on the way to pick up a passenger in nearby Kearny I had a rapid loss of air in my other front tire, I ended up having to cancel a call and tend to my tire on a Saturday afternoon where I didn't really make hardly any money as it was. So I searched Yelp and I found many reviews by loyal customers who swore by ETD, so I called them up and asked if they had availability and they said come right in and when I got there the man at the counter had written up my order and it was more per tire than the highest local estimate I had gotten. So I asked the employee if he could do anything to lower the price because this was a real impact and I really didn't have a lot of money to work with so he ended up cutting my bill almost in half and ended up best thing my lowest estimate by a dollar and this was an emergency situation I needed to have it done. So after 40 minutes or less of waiting to have the job done I can say that I am so very satisfied and very grateful to the employees and the owners of ETD Tire Service for helping out a local small businessman who really needed help and they delivered beyond my expectations Kama I will recommend these guys to anyone and I will definitely return hopefully with more money in my bank account unless of an emergency. I had it checked down the shore earlier in the week and the guy tried to scam me big time - thankfully my boyfriend stopped that one. I own a mobile grooming van and am driving all day, every day so safety is incredibly important to me. Been going to these guys for ages - since I ever needed new tyres for a car as a teen. They always give me a solid quote before doing any work on the car and have given me some quotes for fixes I should consider down the road so I'm prepared for the next time. Quick turn around this past week for an oil change and tyre patch - I always go to them too for new tyres as they can be covered by a warrantee to fix any flats for the life of the tyre. Amazing customer service and great guys working the desk there - never get a creepy feeling (as a woman) from anyone working there and they don't treat me like I couldn't know anything about cars.
