I used to trust them, but that changed after I took my daughter's car in for a simple issue that should have been an easy fix. When I picked it up, I was told I needed $2,500 worth of other repairs, many of which I'm now questioning. I wasn't confident in their assessment, especially since the original issue they were supposed to fix wasn't actually resolved, and the problem resurfaced shortly after. Then I brought my own car in for new tires, and now three out of the four tire sensors are malfunctioning, which was never an issue before. I've had enough. I've dealt with the manager most of the time, and it's a shame because I used to trust them and spent a lot of money there. Really great experience here the other day. Was looking for a spot to do some seasonal tire changes for me (I left my winters on until NOW - shame on me, but just did not have time and thankfully I do not drive much). After reaching out on Yelp, the gents here set me up in the system for a 7:30AM appointment (I was waiting with the car). Amazingly clean waiting room (and super comfy chairs). Free WiFi, free coffee and tea. And incredibly nice service! And the best part? Car was done in an hour (the original thought was 90 minutes) and was done perfectly. My winter tires were bagged up (again, these little touches mean a lot to me) and were really well-placed back inside my car. Made an appointment for new tires and an oil change. Arrived fifteen minutes early. TWO AND HALF HOURS LATER my car was ready. The national average is 45 to 60 minutes add half hour tops for an oil change. An hour of my precious time was wasted. The crew did nothing for an hour. When I asked why it was taking so long I got the typical BS rhetoric blah blah blah. An appointment here is meaningless. I wouldn't trust them to do anything important to my car. Customer: Ken D Vehicle: 2019 Hyundai Tucson SEL Preparing for another road trip up to the Cape, David Sanchez at ETD Tire on the Clifton Circle, gave me a 2 PM Sat appointment for oil change service and tire rotation. Arriving promptly at 2, David got my Hyundai onto the lift within ten minutes as promised. As usual, other customers' cars jammed whatever parking was available in front of the garage. Despite that, ETD's staff did their magic and repositioned several cars to get mine into the bay. Manager Billy wrote my service order and bundled the tire rotation in with the oil change service, a welcomed touch to the credit card. Prior to arriving at ETD, I detailed the engine compartment, part of my own maintenance. ETD's mechanic backed my Tucson out of the bay at which time I lifted the hood to inspect his work. Not a drop of oil was seen on any of the engine covers or other components, a very neat job. All four tires were rotated back to front, front to back and properly inflated as well as resecuring my special valve stem covers. All in all, I was in and out of ETD within 45 minutes. They are still going on renovation and are short staffed. He then explained it still is no excuse for the misleading information of when my tire should be fixed. Offered a curiosity oil or tire change for my troubles. So I am going to give this place one more chance but I am holding my breath. read more

Car needed 2 tires and new front brakes after 20000 miles. the car is a 5 year only mazda cx-5. Walked in expecting to have to turn the front rotors and replace the pads, rotate the tires and replace the stock geolanders at a price of 270 per tire. Was informed the car actually needed 4 new tires and a full brake job from new pads, rotors, brake fluid change. So I went with some light duty off road tires. total cost was 2600.00 plus tax.. They never showed me the old parts so I don't know what condition they were in before . i was taken by surprise at the price and payed any way. a little buyers remorse kicked in and I started getting quotes from other places just to see how much i may have overpaid even considering i actually did need all this done. first the dealer was a little over 600 less and another was clvery close. I was thinking to myself now this wouldn't have happened when I was younger... why did I let them up sell me what I don't need. should I have spent half of that since I only needed 2 tires and 2 new brake pads.... I now have to start going to three places for quotes before pulling the trigger. need an ethically run shop. ill still come back for a quite only. i have a small fleet of "cars" and need to be more careful since I'm retired read more

I was away for a couple of weeks, upon return I got in my 2018 Jeep compass but it was completely dead. I reached out to the dealership but they didn't have any availability so I Called ETD, Billy was so helpful and gracious. HE'S A LIFE SAVER!!! I was in there a week ago. The guy on the phone told me one thing, but the guy at the counter said something completely different. It was also completely fabricated. They should not assume that people know nothing about cars. I have bought many tires there over the years, but will not be going there ever again. Here is an update. I'm about to get four new tires. this is a review for the Bloomfield Ave, Clifton location. I have no complaints on the quality of there work. when you go in for tires they are very accommodating, but don't go their for anything else such as a leak from a nail or tire rotations which is included free if you buy the tire insurance. they are always to busy to fit you in. I scheduled this service for the next day and dropped my car off before 10. I was not expecting it back till early afternoon. I called them at 3pm and was told that it wasn't done yet, but it was going on the lift now and it should be ready within the hour. I told them I would be there around 4pm. I got there after 4pm to find that my car had just gotten on the lift and nothing had been done. I was very disappointed that the staff totally blew me off and ignored me. When I took my car here the shop quoted several thousand dollars in repairs. I was wondering if I should sell my car and it sent me into a mental tailspin worrying about what to do. I took it to a 2nd shop and 2 of the suggested repairs by ETD they said were totally unnecessary. The total cost of repairs dropped under $1k. I don't trust this shop any more. I would definitely not suggest going there. I did use one mechanic here once that seemed more trustworthy but used a new one that seemed shady. Friendly staff, especially George. However, a friendly staff is no excuse for despicable service. They charged hundreds of dollars, all whilst skirting around the issues and achieving NOTHING. If you can't fix the car, don't bother working on it!!! In fact, I just took the car to other mechanics who got it running well, replaced the carburetor and got the front windshield wipers running, for the same cost these people charged us for spark plugs and a few other inessential changes that did JACK SQUAT. I have been bringing my cars here for tires and other maintenance services since 2006. And my recent tire installation appointment on Sat, Jan 14, continued ETD's long standing commitment towards service excellence! I was able to make an appointment for 7:30am. I like being the first one there. Three days prior, I called the Clifton location to order the tires and ensure they were is stock for the Saturday appointment. Price quote was reviewed: tires, labor, tire protection plan. It is also wise to expect other things like a possible need for wheel alignment and/or new valve stems. So I arrived Saturday morning at 7:15 am. Doors open at 7:30am. I also had a nice box of donuts for the entire shop. Working in the utility industry I understand the early mornings and how a hot cup of coffee and a sweet treat can set the tone for the day. David was the salesperson up front along with his two coworkers. In the bay, Henry and Dan were my mechanics for the job. I'm not sure if both worked on my Tahoe together or if one did the tire installation and the other did the wheel alignment (which I needed ever so slightly). Best to have it done, especially with new tires. I chose to wait there and blocked out 3hrs of my time and enjoyed the relaxing waiting area. Nice little kitchenette with microwave and coffee machine. A nice sized TV is also there to help pass the time. They also have free WiFi. The men's room was immaculate! One can also pass time at Home Depot, AutoZone, or at the Styertowne Shopping Plaza nearby. You can also walk along Market Street to all the local shops. After about 2hrs, David showed me the wheel alignment readings. I just needed the driver side of my Tahoe and went ahead with that add-on service. At about 3hrs my Tahoe was done and David reviewed the line items and totaled up my bill. Was it cheap? Hell no - Continental brand; 20 inch rims! Was it through the roof? No. Did my bill reflect the quality tires that I selected and the labor needed to mount/balance/align my wheels and tires? Absolutely! I have owned 5 different vehicles since 2006 and not once did I ever feel ETD was taking me to the cleaners. These men all give it their best. They will do what is best for your vehicle so that it runs well mechanically and above all - SAFE. Is ETD a business that must show profits? Of course! But customer service is their #1 goal and that includes their workmanship. Do some basic research. Ask questions, they will take the time to educate each customer. I have been buying my tires there for years. Exact same brand and size for both vehicles. I called the other day and ordered some. They looked me up in the system and found the tires. I told the guy to make sure they were LT and not P. He did this. I double checked and told him to make sure. I got the price and he ordered them. They came in and I made an appointment to go out there today. It's the day before Thanksgiving and it took me a while to get there from where I am. When I got there, they had the wrong tires. Four hours of my day were wasted. I think I will have to find someplace else. It's too bad because I have given them a lot of money and thought I had found a good place, but I guess not. No apology. That's the worst part. I had to confirm that they were wrong and then the guy just said "we can order you new ones." A simple "I am so sorry." would have gone along way. read more

This used to be the only place we took our cars. The customer service was once excellent. Our recent visit there was not so great. Long story short, there were a couple of mistakes made by the employees there, resulting in the tire we wanted not getting ordered for over a week later than we had hoped. That would not have been an issue, except the staff, rather than admit their mistake and apologize, insisted upon arguing with my husband and me that WE were wrong and they were right....completely unnecessary, and made us both feel uncomfortable w/using this establishment any longer. My wife used ETD in Clifton. She had a bad experience. I decided since they were close to home, I'd try them. As part of my $1,350+ bill, I received a new battery. Battery died within 3 months. I was stuck in my driveway. I couldn't jump start the car. What did ETD do? Nothing. I was told I could drive the car to their location. Maybe, they could fit me in that day. But Monday would be better at 11 am. I couldn't start my car even after attempting to jump start it. Not sure how I was supposed to drive to ETD. I called AAA, they gave me a new battery. I spent extra money since I didn't receive the warrantied replacement battery. But I lost faith in ETD and rather pay additional amount for different new battery. I won't use ETD again. My go to place for tires and an oil change. Friendly/knowledgeable staff and they will explain to you what is being done just in case your not 100% sure. Plus won't do work unless you signed off on it. Tire prices are good. Most of the time there are rebates so take advantage. Plus if you purchase tires here, rotation is free of charge until you replace them. They also do brakes but have not had them done here. Only pain in butt is the wait time. A simple oil change can be a 1-2hr wait. They do tell you upfront but they do a legitimate enough job that it's worth the wait. Or you have the option to drop off. I recommend waiting and go to Home Depot or Auto Zone across the way and do some shopping...or even go to QuickChek and get the paper/coffee and chill. All within walking distance. read more

I came here last week on a Thursday morning to replace my car battery. My car was having difficult time starting up because of the weather, They are open at 7am and I was able to get my car checked out and be at work by 9am. The total charge was $185 kinda expensive but they adjusted my car's tire pressure for free. They never pressured for more necessary work typical at dealers. My car starts fine and so far so good. Judging by the number cars at this location it seems that they have a solid customer base and they are always busy. I also stopped at this location in the fall of 2017 and they were too busy to take a walk in, be sure to call ahead or get there early in the morning.....Went in for a low tire pressure warning and this location on 4/23/18 and they were too busy asked to come back in 3-4 hrs. Then it turned into making an appointment for the next day, And from here is just come in early the next day....took my car to Volkswagen instead. read more

These guys are great. We've been using them for years because of their honesty and the value of work they provide. A simple example was just today. My wife's tire light has been on for a week or so I took it to some gas station the other day to get air in the tire. I put this old contraption on the valve and it got stuck. When I went to remove it, the stem in the valve got bent and started leaking air. I quickly put the air cap on before my wife noticed I botched her tire up lol... We brought it to ETD today and told them the tire light came on. They found the problem right away, put air in all tires, fixed the valve and then didn't even charge us... This simple act will make us a lifelong customer. Why? It's because any other mechanic would've sold you on a new tire. read more

THE ABSOLUTE WORST shop I have ever gone to. Came here for a change of tire which should easily take 5-10 minutes and left there FOUR HOURS LATER, I could understand one hour if they're really busy but no they took hours! I DONT UNDERSTAND HOW A TIRE SHOP COULD BE SO BAD AT FIXING TIRES! Not to mention how ridiculous the prices are, i had no other choice but to come here but I really don't know who would choose to. Loved going to ETD for years. The guys there were Audi lovers and knew how to deal with my A7 with 22 inch low profile tires and all wheel drive which present unique challenges. Go today and the ETD guys at the front desk are all new. All of my peeps are gone. I get there at 2pm, ask if they can just lift the car up to tell me if I have a bent rim. Takes five minutes, right? You'd think the thought of potentially selling a $1500 rim would be good for business. First guy tells me he can do it in a couple of hours. I'm like you close in a couple of hours! So I leave. I then got so annoyed that I went back. Told second guy that I have been a long time customer, drop a thousand dollars a pop everytime I go there because I have low profile tires, there are open bays, and they can't take a quick look to tell me if I have a problem? His response is that i can wait and he'll try to squeeze me in but I can't promise because they have so many cars to do. Compared to so many other times that I've been there when the parking lot has always always been full of cars, the lot was comfortably empty. First time ETD has dismissed my business with such a lame reaponse. I guess relationships matter. That's why I support my local business owners instead of going to Audi for everything. I get that you want to go home on time on a Saturday but you should think a bit more about your now former loyal customers. read more

My brakes were going out on me so I made an emergency call to this ETD yesterday to see if they could take a look at it. They have early hours (opening at 7 AM) which worked out great. Nick was incredible to deal with-- he admitted they were a bit backed up and he'd do his best to get to it that day. At around 12:30, Nick called me and was able to replace the brake pads and rotors on my car. The guys were all really wonderful to deal with. Honest and professional. Highly recommend the Clifton ETD, Nick and all the guys. I will most definitely be returning. read more

My cars battery lost its charge, I was able to jump start it and get to ETD last night after they were closed. I put the key in the night deposit box. At 731 A.M. I got a call from Austin the store manager asking what the issue was. I explained it to him, he brought the car into the shop, did a diagnostic check and called me with the remedy. I approved a new battery to be installed and with an hour he called me back and said it was ready for pick up. This is what I call excellent service! I've been going to ETD for many years now. Been going there for years without a problem. I had AAA come and change the tire for me to the spare. Both myself and the AAA guy looked over the tire and could not find anything wrong with it (absolutely nothing on the sidewalls punctured either). He said it must be the valve. So I took it to ETD, and after 3 hours of the car sitting there, they call me and tell me there is a nail in the inside sidewall and the tire needs to be replaced. There was no way a nail in the sidewall as I made a point to check completely before I brought it there in fear this would happen. When I got there, they told me it was a "screw" (not a nail like they originally told me on the phone). I explained to them that I looked over the tire completely and did not see anything in the sidewalls of the tire. Their response was, "Are you calling me a liar and saying I purposely did this?" (I was completely taken back by this). The technician brought the tire out to show me where the puncture was, and the "screw" that was once a "nail", mysteriously changed to a "stick", and it also moved from the "inside sidewall" to the "outside sidewall". Next time, I'm going to take pictures and video of the tire before I go anywhere. I am certainly not going back to these crooks again. read more
