I trusted them. Everything they touched they ruined, installed a bad alternator. I asked them to check for oil leak, they never checked, oil spilled and ruined my starter, had to install a new starter, they ruined my radiator by not putting anchors anchoring the top section of radiator. I am not longer use them and every cost was triple on price, they constantly blamed Mercedes, they broke my hood struts, never replaced then , and they just kept blaming Mercedes was the problem, the problem was them. After the repair, the vehicle still had issues, and I did not feel that the work performed justified the cost. Communication about the repairs and charges was also not clear. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this mechanic and would advise others to carefully review the estimate and work before proceeding. read more

A few days ago, I went to this shop to replace the brakes on my car. They had no immediate dates; I could wait. They had to calculate a quote; so I asked them to call when they had it. After a few days I went over, and was told that they would have to inspect the car first. So I took my car over, only to hear that I would have to bring it on the date of the appointment the following week to get a quote. Three visits, and not even an indicative quote. If I could give this place a 0 I would. I brought my vehicle in for repairs for both lower control arms and Ball Joints, brakes and rotors and shocks less than 2 years ago. After only 6,440 miles used on my Jeep the breaks, rotors, control arms and ball joints all went bad. The average life expectancy of after market parts for control arms and ball joints are 70k + miles and the breaks and rotors 25k-50k miles. I had to spend an additional $498.94 to fix the break job they did and after discussing the issues further had to pay for the parts for them to fix the ball joints. I received in writing from 2 different repair shops that the control arms and ball joints needed to be replaced due faulty parts (supplied and installed by S&S) and the breaks should never have gone bad after only 6,440 miles. I never asked for a cheap price, nor did I try to haggle the price to fix my vehicle. In fact when the manager explain it would be extra for Monroe shocks instead of the basic shocks, I explained that I did not want any cheap parts to be used for my vehicle because I transport 2 autistic children in it and did not want to leave anything to chance. The owner of this place should be ashamed of himself for putting inferior parts in my vehicle and risking the safety of my family. If you want quality work and/or even just decent work done to your vehicle, do not use this place! It will only cost you double the money in the end! read more

I woke up and notice that there was oil in my driveway and so I took my car to S&S Automotive for a check up. I thought it would be routine checkup and something minor. Wishing a few minutes of driving in the mechanic told me that I should not drive because it is a hazard as my radiator have a serious leak and my water pump is also broken. I left the car for a full assessment and it also needed to get the thermostat replaced. My mechanic is in Brooklyn and my first thought was was take my car there but considering how prompt they were with the diagnosis I decided to have my car repaid here. I left the car and the receptionist took my information. Within a few minutes of leaving I got a call with the cost of the parts and repairs. They also gave me the cost for dealer parts and after market parts which I appreciated. Options are always good. I called my mechanic in Brooklyn and he confirmed that I was indeed getting the best prices here at S&S. My car was fixed within a day. The keys were left in a Dropbox outside for me since I picked it up late night. This was convenient and one of the quickest and best repairs I have had. I returned within a week to have a full tune up and my rare tires replaced. Again the service was prompt, professional and great. This will now be my mechanic shop. No more waiting for hours to get my calls return by a mechanic or sitting in the shop or my repairs being delayed for a week. I highly recommend S&S Automotive. Today I called S&S to book an appointment for a loose undercarriage on my car. I had work 2 hours later, so I figured I would only be able to schedule an appointment for the next day. The receptionist hooked it up though, and squeezed me in to that morning! The mechanics really cared about getting me in ASAP so I wouldn't damage my car. I should also note that the whole place was slammed with customers because it's only 3 days before Christmas. The whole undercarriage got fixed within 20 minutes and I only had to pay $10. Maybe they only care about new cars, or cars from their regular customers, or friends. Maybe I am not one of "them". I called twice a day for 5 days and they did not give me an answer. Just that's they will look in to it when the have a chance. At the end I went and took my car to another auto repair. One more thing: my car was outside on the street for four days. My alternator went out while driving on the NJ turnpike. I was able to google the nearest shop which was S&S Auto. I was just able to make it there. When I arrived Keith was able to diagnose the problem and while they could not fit me in on such short notice he made some calls and arranged to have me to go to another shop. He also lent me his battery charger so I could make it to the other shop. While I cannot review their auto work, their customer service is off the charts! We came in from Buffalo on Saturday for a concert, and noticed that one of our tires was losing air. Had the spare put on Saturday night. Called this shop Monday morning, brought the tire in, and they patched it within 20 mins (and also put it back on the car) for $40. Turns out there was a razor blade in our tire (thanks NJ) .
