We've been pleased with Eternally Green Lawn Care. They were recommended to us by a local landscaping company who we have used as a company who would give us great lawn care. We used them last year for fertilization/weed control as well as lawn aeration in the fall. We were pleased with the communication from the company to let us know when they would come out as well as answered a ton of questions before we even started service. They're starting spring lawn care this week, and nicely gave me a heads up (critical since it's a busy time for various exterior projects). I have had no issues with them - the lawn is taken care of at the times they say it will be, they've not in any way hurt any of my other plantings or put any materials where they should not go. I had brand new sod installed last summer. This summer, I hired Eternally green for my lawn maintenance. The worker that does the grass burned it. He came out to see what he did, said he did it, said he was sorry, took pics and told me to water it for 45 mins every single day. He said there would be some compensation, as he makes mistakes, and I would hear from them. Three weeks goes by, radio silence. It takes days to talk to someone, and then they send a child out to tell me it was from the heat.... After the worker had already admitted he did it. Robin, the owners wife, told me that the worker never said those things, and that I was lying. She also said she would sue me for posting bad reviews. She did none of it was their fault. They like to fertilize your sidewalk. Owner Sue does not return calls. I am done with them! I have video of the guy driving on 2 of my sidewalks dispensing fertilizer all over them and then they just leave it. They did my whole subdivision this way. My landscaper will need to find a different fertilizer service if he wants to keep our business for next year. 130 homes on 26 acres and crap service and customer service! read more

I think these people are on drugs! On numerous occasions I've noticed their employees sitting in their trucks for very long periods of time with smoke pouring out of the windows. I've had neighbors walking dogs tell me they've smelled marijuana when going past their trucks. I'd like to give people the benefit of the doubt but by the looks of their work and how many times I witnessed one employee walk back and forth to their truck and look completely confused, what else am I supposed to think? Besides my suspicions, the quality of work is just very poor. Years ago it was, now I have weeds pooping up in places that used to be under control. over all very disappointed. read more

Having been using Eternally Green for several years for our lawn and crabapple trees. They do a great job for reasonable price. They always are nice on the phone and answer questions promptly and provide quick estimates. In fact, two of my sons are using them based on my recommendation and what they have noticed in my weedless and green lawn. I have watched them from time to time applying the weed/feed and they actually do stop and do spraying of any weed or two that popped up. read more

Stay away - we were customers for a number of years with good experience than something changed. Started seeing more and more weeds showing and treatments were not working. Asked them to come out and investigate and they did nothing. Some cases said they would be out but nobody showed up. We refused to pay until they made good in their promises and guarantee and what did they do? Turned us into collections. So be careful when dealing with these people. The worst most unprofessional company I've ever dealt with. These people were rude and liars. I would never recommend this company to anyone. They totally destroyed my lawn. Because they came back twice and nothing was improving.? In fact it kept getting worse! Totally killed all my grass. Be careful or they may show up before dawn to do their services and wake your entire house of children up on a Saturday at 6am! They did this just today with the Elementary school I live adjacent to in Shorewood! WHY would you show up at 6am in a residential neighborhood with multiple loud machines? It's rude and disrespectful! Common sense would say to wait until a reasonable hour but obviously this company does not care about the people of this city, whose tax dollars pay for their services. I hate writing negative reviews, but I'm hoping to save someone else the hassle I have to go through. My lawn has been cared for by Eternally Green since 2004. So you would think they will care, but in reality since last year they don't. I guess they are growing (busy) and the service quality has gone down (see pictures). I usually pay upfront (a mistake), and my calls to get them to come out have been ignored for the past 3 weeks, and I was not able to speak to a manager either. Whatever they claim they apply don't believe it, if you still using them, be present in each application. I'm still waiting for them to show up for a service call, and Jessica at the office has a very rude attitude each time I call. In 2015 we had contacted, and thought corrected an application marking issue. The 2016 spring application, sadly, wasn't marked adequately, as we were promised-service dog again had seizures. Upon contacting company, "Kristie", stated I needed to calm down, although I was calm. She then hung up, because CLEARLY this company does not care! I think my yard looks worse after using them and they damaged my fence. The last contact I had was they ordered the section of fence. They came out and repaired that with out even telling me and in fixing the fence they must have cut the pole to install the new section which is now making the fence fall. Eternally Green has been providing fertilization treatments for my one acre plus home since 2013. We have since added core aeration and grub control. They are professional and responsive to any issues that may come up between treatments. Their suggestions on watering and lawn cutting to help prevent issues are helpful and have improved the appearance of my lawn. It is healthy and doing well ! I wish I could give this company a negative star rating! My lawn was lush, thick and deep green- I always got compliments on it until this company DESTROYED it!!. We had another lawn care service and thought we would try eternally green because they were cheaper. You get what pay for!! I have a lawn cutting service and I asked them about the brown spots in my lawn, they said it looks like I have grubs. These people who cut my lawn cared for the chicago park district so I think they know about grass. My elderly mother called eternally green, she was the one who signed them up. She spoke to the owner Jim Webb. She told him that she thought we had grubs and would he come out to look at the lawn. Jim became very angry and rude. He started yelling at her saying that she doesn't know what she's talking about. He said that we do not have grubs we were not watering properly. We have a sprinkler system and water ever other day rain or shine! He kept raising his voice to my mother yelling her that he was in the lawn care industry and he knows better. My mother, I and a lawn cutting team all have eyes and we can see the damage to the lawn. I would think the a business owner would want to fix the problem not threaten an old women. Jim said we was not fixing the lawn and then HE QUIT! GOOD RIDDENCE! I'm going back to my other lawn care service, they said they would try to repair the lawn FOR FREE! Terrible, dishonest company. They do not do what they say they will do when you sign up. I requested that they call before they came to fertilize and they did not, even after several attempt to request this (this was offered as a service when I signed up). They also missed a section when they aerated my lawn. Then argued with me about it-the sales person (Mike) actually hung up on me. I would have been satisfied if they would have come back to get the spot they missed. I cancelled my service and it took multiple calls to get this taken care of as well. read more

I did not even want to give Eternally Green Lawn Care even one star because they literally destroyed my lawn! It started out bad and ended even worse! My grass last Spring looked okay, just fine not splendid but not bad either. After one of Eternally Green's "lawn specialist" analyzed my perfectly fine grass last year Spring, they suggested a very specific treatment for each area of the lawn. I accepted the offer and that was where the problem began, the grass turned brown in the largest area of the front lawn, and honestly the other areas didn't look that great either and definitely not better than prior to the service. Now this is where the scam gets good and I have to admit I was dumb. This "specialist" came back and checked out the area and told me I had not been watering at the correct time of day and with another treatment all would be better. So I paid the "specialist" and he applied the treatment. Major mistake, you guessed it, ALL THE GRASS DIED! So I called the owner, Jim and explained the situation and he was mad......at me. He did not believe me and was so rude, it was the most hideous customer service I have ever encountered. He did not stand by his service at all and was such a jerk, he blamed the dead grass on absolutely everything but his company's service! I have used Eternally Green for almost 4 years and was satisfied until the last application. My lawn was lush green (and received "A" on their report card for color/cutting height/watering when they applied the fertilizer/weed control in June). Within 3 DAYS my lawn was brown/yellow and stopped growing. Mowing service was cancelled for 3 weeks and then came mostly to edge. I admit I waited 3 weeks to contact Eternally Green because I was hoping the grass would come back. Technician came out and said it was my fault for not watering "correctly" even though you could see that the dead grass extended over the lot line for about a foot to the neighbor's lawn - where their product was applied. I was told I would be offered a future aeration and seeding at half price and would be contacted by phone and in writing. After a week not hearing, I phoned and was told they knew about my situation but not about contacting me. In the end, I did not have to pay for the application that killed my lawn and she would cancel the future applications just to get out of their obligation. Thanks for nothing.
