Typically stay at a place a week or two (at most) and then it's time to move on and hike the next section or two, then move on again. But Shanna and the ladies at the Shell made it impossible to leave. So nice! And grassy, partially shaded, quiet sites with a little store, huge clean laundry, and the nice little town of Etna and all of its ammenities right here. There is so much to explore on the property and nearby. Fishing Ponds, Remote Control airplanes and landing strip on the property. Down the road is McCloud Golf Course staring straight at Mt. Shasta! We went on an awesome hike on the Squaw Creek Tr all along the beautiful river. We rode bikes around Friday's Meadow. They have places to rent if you don't want to haul the RV. We will definitely go back and rent the Lookout Cabin for our family reunion!

Shasta Package. We got married at the peninsula with a view of Mt. Shasta in the background. It was magical! Our reception area was just as beautiful. Our wedding party stayed at Look Out Lodge, which is a large 8 person cabin on the property. It was so much fun to have my dearest friends and family right there to celebrate with me from beginning to end. My husband and I took advantage of the Pond House, a small two person cabin right on the pond where we got married, which became our honeymoon suite. Many of my out of town guests brought up their tents and camped. They had access to a clean restroom and showers the whole time. I believe there's an option to bring RVs as well. All of this was included in the package! And the host was very kind and accommodating. I highly recommend Friday's Retreat as a destination wedding site. It is the place to be if you want an outdoor wedding with a view of Mt.Shasta.

Booked a pull through, full hookup spot last March. As others have said, the road along the final mile is rough & some traffic noise can be heard throughout the night from I-5 above. No biggie. We had a few issues though. We were unable to drive into our campsite due to trees. We have a 30' trailer pulled by a Ford F-250. Pulling in we almost got stuck. We had to back out to drive the wrong way up a one way lane then back into our space. The spaces are small and parked vehicles added to the navigation challenges. Ultimately we made it in and set up camp for the night. Also our wi-fi password didn't work and there was a billing issue. Our Elks Lodge discount price wasn't applied. We weren't able to purchase any of their farm fresh eggs because we couldn't connect with Karen & Jay. Tried contacting them by text, phone and email on our day of arrival and again the next day. Needed to cancel our July 6th reservation we booked for our return. Finally received an email on July 5th acknowledging our cancellation but there was no mention of correcting the billing issue. So we still need to pursue that. We don't want to disparage a family business. Karen & Jay obviously take pride in their campground. Perhaps they were overwhelmed by the upcoming Holiday or perhaps something came up. We wish them well.

We were a bit worried by the road there (lots of fair sized holes) and the weather (California was experiencing a bad heat wave, and it was 105 here), and considered only staying one of our two nights. So so glad we stayed both nights. The wild horses were hanging out the whole time, and much of it in front of our trailer. I'm sure the heat drove them down to the river and tasty lawn. We also saw the blue heron, bats, and two river otters! Baby bird above the men's bathroom. Lots to see and enjoy. This place is pristine and quiet. We'd just come from a gross Thousand Trails and a loud state park. Coming here with the clean (and air conditioned!!) bathrooms and showers was lovely. The hosts were so nice. And it just felt quiet and relaxing, only punctuated by territorial stallions making a fuss. Nice additions are the giant shaded area with picnics tables and Adirondack chairs to hang out in- our space didn't have a tree so the shaded option was much appreciated. This is a way away from us, but we hope to come back and spend more time here. Also- shoutout to the hosts who spend a lot of time cleaning up horse poop to keep the roads clean for us!

The location is superb, so close to Trees of Mystery, the Klamath Tour Thru Tree, and just a short drive away from Crescent City. The bathrooms and showers were SO clean and not horrendously outdated like some camp sites. They also had amazingly hot water, which was an extremely pleasant surprise as we were unprepared for how chilly it would be up here. We stayed at camp site A13, right next to the bathroom, with an amazing view and no smell issues. There was plenty of room for our two cars and three tents (one large and two small ones). We didn't really check out the other amenities, but it looked like they had a field where you could play sports and they had free equipment rentals in the shop. Their store is another stand out feature! Some places charge a premium, knowing that their guests have no choice but to pay, yet they had reasonable prices for all of their items. They also pretty much had everything you could ask for in there. We bought their tree and bear mini lego set for $16 and saw it the next day at a different store for $21! Minus one star because their dryer didn't work too well, so we ended up with super damp clothes despite trying to dry it three times :(

The woman turned out to be the "owner" who lied saying she was not on the property to help us but "sure check in early if your in a rush and to figure it out (how would we do that without an employee?) as we could see her exiting the property at the same time. We politely asked for a moment of her time to try and get checked in as she said then on the phone it was OKAY. She was rambling a mile a minute and at this point I decided i didn't feel safe staying here and asked if I could get a refund. She just screamed " BYE BYE BYE BYE " and told me to " get the f*ck off her property " she was very aggressive and I truly have never experienced anything like this. I felt like I was dealing with a drug addict... needless to say I do not recommend staying there. We will be spending the night in the car instead of putting our well being at risk. Riverfront campsites are overgrown with brush so ricer access is very limited, the boat ramp is clogged with thick green alge, trash and unusable. No maintenance and unsafe conditions for livestock continue to be a problem. All of the experienced and professional employees have been fired and replaced with friends and family of the new management. Owners are selling their shares or giving the back to the ranch. They are currently facing a $300,000. Dollar deficit and asking for higher assesments with a massive cut in available service. Go ahead and fact check this. I dare you.

I am a retired property manager, and I can say I would have NEVER allowed, her hate, or her Nazi tactics at any property EVER! Abrams RV park is a nice place, its beautiful area, but the fact is, it could be run Sooooooooo much better, however, as it stands now, the bathrooms are an embarrassment, the laundry included. I'll attach photos as evidence of what I am saying. Now we are still here in the park, and I fully expect her to retaliate against us in any way she can, but honestly, i'd prefer she owns up to her hate, and recognizes it for what it is, and makes changes, not just for those who live her, but for herself as well. The setting is beautiful, alongside a peaceful freshwater creek, with crisp, clean spring water pouring naturally out of the ground just steps from your site. The park is also dog-friendly, with wide-open grassy lawns for them to enjoy. The location couldn't be better for exploring the area. All three of the stunning McCloud River waterfalls are only about a 10-minute drive away, and Mossbrae Falls is just 19 minutes away. Between the comfortable accommodations, wonderful hosts, fresh mountain water, creekside setting, and easy access to some of the area's most beautiful waterfalls, this is the perfect place to stay if you're looking to explore McCloud and the surrounding area.
