Another great visit to Sweet Berry today. Meat department…read moregreat as usual. Bakery too. Prepared meals. People say it can be crowded. That's the fun of it. Talk to the person in front or behind you while waiting. Always pleasant. I always see the owner or manager always pitching in. Lots of busy people stocking or restocking shelves. If you don't try it--good. More good stuff for me. This place knows how to run a business. Staff always pleasant and willing to help.

As a pescatarian I buy and eat a lot of vegetables so I am always on the lookout for great places…read moreto buy my vegies and other food. If I am in the Willowick area I will usually try to stop by Sweetberry Fresh Market to see what I can find. Sweetberry is a medium sized market with a large selection of produce and fruits, a full deli counter, butcher counter, bakery, groceries and prepared foods. Once you have parked you get your first taste of what is best and freshest since they have a display of vegies on sale on the side and front porch; which is open in the summer and covered in the winter. Inside you find a tightly packed market which is usually packed with people. The staff does a nice job of keeping things moving, but it can get a bit overwhelming and slow at times. I usually concentrate on the fruits and vegetables; prices are moderate, although I can usually find good deals on the sale items. For me I can pass on most of the other food, while they have a freezer of frozen fish and seafood, there is no fresh seafood. Most times I visit Sweetberry while the selection is good between the crowds and the prices, I either leave with nothing or just a couple of items. If you are in the area Sweetberry is a good alternative to the grocery stores, but probably not worth a special trip.

Great service, disappointing food, and dirty wine glasses…read more Our first visit but disappointed. We made reservations and indicated that it was our anniversary. When we arrived, the hostess was not at the station so we alked in. Seated immediately by the sole wait staff/bartender. No one ever acknowledged our special occassion. If you aren't going to acknowledge, why ask? We were in time for happy hour and were very pleased with the happy hour tempranillo. Not so happy about those dirty glasses. Happy hour cauliflower was tasty. The steak was not a uniform temp. Edges were medium well and inside was medium rare. The chimichurri is very parsley forward. The fish was perhaps a tad over cooked. The rice, plaintains, & salsa were just ok. Jack Daniels bread pudding was bland. The sauce tasted more of cinnamon than jack daniels and the bread pudding itself wasn't flavorful. The chocolate cake was ok. We shared a few bites, then took it home. Took us a few days to get through it and we love chocolate! Service was amazing, especially considering she also was tending bar. There were several parties dining and so far as we could tell, she kept everyone happy. If you give it a try, go for the service ... the food is just ok.

I have purchased The Olive and The Grape's vinegars & oils when they had a Kamm's Corner's location…read moreand then at the Westside Market and wow! Great to have in as staples in your cooking and awesome gifts. These are excellent products and how great to have these right here in Cleveland. But sadly, it really doesn't matter what you sell if your customer service is dismal. Despite great products you might as well NOT buy these unless you want that to be a 1-time experience because after that you will *NEVER AGAIN* be able to get them. The Westside Market inventory is very limited and the clerk there clearly is neither invested in the product or knowledgeable. The answer always is to stop my next time or the next week but the next week nothing will have changed -- same limited inventory, same lack of explanation. My most recent visit he told me I should call the Mentor store or email them to get the product at Westside Market. But guess what -- emails to the website are *never* answered. Calls to the store during the hours listed on the website, *no one ever answers* and when you leave a voice mail you will *never* get a response. The website does say they now have an online store but most of their products are not listed and the *website is non-functional* -- links do not work and you cannot order products. So there you have it! This is a business that has missed out on the very basic tenets of running a successful business -- valuing your customers new and repeat. It's looking to me that this is a business looking to file for bankruptcy in the near future because if you can't provide the product you sell then really, do you have a viable business? If you can't maintain your customers who want to buy your product then do you have a viable business? Rhetorical questions. Seriously. Rhetorical. I wish I could say "run, don't walk and buy these great products" but instead let's go with, "fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me" (never mind that I've been fooled many more times than twice!) Bottom Line: Don't bother with this business -- find another locally owned business to give your support and your money. The End -- and it isn't a happy ending. REST IN PEACE, The Olive and The Grape.
