I'm a little disappointed - not in Eudora, but in the string of recent low reviews from the community. Regulars, why aren't you celebrating that a great brewery that started off small has now expanded into a much larger location than before? So first of all, Eudora, congratulations!! I am impressed at the giant upgrade from the last much smaller location. And now you even have a kitchen! Prices are great, but the processes of getting the food out on time and at a hot or even warm temperature need to be worked on. It's true. But, you know what... Brand new kitchen suddenly accommodating a ton more guests than you were previously unable to serve at the last location? It happens. People need to understand that all the new hires have to learn the ropes. And that even the people that worked at your other location are now dealing with a much higher volume of people. Anyway. Yes, they only had four beers on tap last night. Yes, they brew their own beer. Yes, it takes time to establish everything. Yes, my taco flight came out room temperature, but the ingredients were fantastic. There's a lot of room for improvement right now, but THEY JUST OPENED. I have no doubt this place will be 5+ stars in the very near future. What's not changed at all is the great atmosphere, the great customer service, and the thought put into providing a great place to hang out and unwind for all of the customers. (They even kept the gaming consoles from the other location, I appreciated this touch). My advice for everyone is to be patient. Congratulations on the new place, Eudora! read more

I never knew Kettering, Ohio, needed a brewery until now! What a fun spot for such an awesome community. I was blown away by the atmosphere, look and great selection of beers. The Banarang was definitely one of the best IPAs I've had in a long time - had me coming back two nights in a row for it! The brewery is incredibly spacious, too. For both a Friday and Saturday night, I was surprised to not have to compete for seating. Whether it's a small catchup or a large group, of you are in the Dayton area, I highly recommend Eudora! read more

Food was good! Location was good - music was a little loud but it's summer. Bar Service sucked. Understand that you are busy on Friday nights and don't do flights but very stingy when asking for a sample of your beer. Only allowed 1 "sample" (if you can call it that). The bar tender - young girl with dark hair - was not very friendly and not willing to share information when I asked her about your beer. We had never been to this brewery and we were looking forward to trying several beers. Instead we got 1 "sample" which was barely covering the bottom of the taster glass. When we did order our pints, our glasses were put down in front of us, no thank, no smile. Clearly this dark hair girl did not want to be behind the bar. Perhaps she should be doing the dishes instead. That suits her personality. Very disappointing. read more

We love this place! Great selection of brewed beers--all from them! I love how they have lagers and stouts and other kinds of beer here. My biggest complaint about other breweries is that they offer mostly just ales of different types. I'm not an ale girl unless it's a brown nut ale! LOL The food is really good. Cool building, great location, lots of great indoor and outdoor space. Food was good (limited but ok/good) The negative : arriving we park and as we walk to the entrance the is a mass of tacky yellow danger tape wrapped haphazardly across the fence to the outdoor area, it looks bad and unprofessional. The entry doors are plastered with hand written signs - so badly done no one appears to read them, but hey, we are in the door, industrial look is cool and welcoming until you look at the bar! Twenty stools upside down suggests "the chain smoking janitor" will be coming out with a filthy mop in a bucket of gray water, smelling of pine sol to mop the floor within moments. But no it's a covid 19 decorating idea some daft brained decorator has come up with to stop people from sitting at the bar! Could they not store the chairs elsewhere in the thousands of feet they have and put tent cards saying not service here, or cases of beer to block it off, something more inviting? The beers: the lager had more bite (as in not desirable) than expected, the red, supposedly like Killian's, no Killian's is way smoother, the Nitro pale ale needed the nitro to smooth it out. Beer is amazing. Concept is you order at counter and serve yourself/bus tables. Also beware each "order of tacos comes with three each. None are all that good but I ordered one of each and got three trays with three tacos each. Girls in kitchen look to be high school age and didn't even try to verify my order. Do not come here if you are ready to eat. I've been twice. The first time was just before closing to have a drink with my girlfriends and it was fine. We sat, had a beer, left. Nothing spectacular. The second time was yesterday. We came to hang out and have food and drinks. The host staff was very nice and we am were seated quickly at a narrow counter. I REALLY wanted food but could not find any indication of what food they offered. The sign above what I believe was the kitchen said "Food" but that was it. So if we wanted food we would've had to leave our "table" to go see what food was even offered. How do they know not to sit someone else there? It was very confusing. If you wanted a drink you had to wait in a huge separate line.Again, how do you keep your seat if you're waiting in all these lines? I was not a fan. We left and found a place that made sense. Ok. Decent beer, average food, crappy service... The place is super cool looking with a trendy vibe, but it's run by a bunch of hipsters with attitudes. When you're the "beer tender" and you're annoyed by questions about the beers on tap, you require remedial training... Complete turn off for a place with a ton of potential. This place is a great hangout spot! The parking lot gets crazy packed - like zero spots left by 7 pm on a Thursday. But there are neighboring businesses that allow parking after they close. The interior is humongous though so there's always a place to sit. Ample outdoor picnic tables and cornhole too. The food here has been good the time I got it. The tacos very tasty but small. The pretzels were pretty good. The beers change out pretty consistently and are low priced at about $5. There's two pools table that are free, lots of board games and a pinball table. read more

I'm usually pretty hard on brewery reviews. With the explosion of craft brewing in recent years, microbreweries tend to be the same old thing over and over again. With that in mind, I'm always looking for locales that offer something unique to the beer scene. Located in a unassuming strip mall, Eudora doesn't necessary scream unique when you first drive up. Once inside though, its charm begins to come through. The interior is nice with comfortable decor, intimate feel, and a view to the brewing facilities. We had the joy of showing up on Wednesday--trivia night. Unlike most pub trivia experiences, this was a blast. They actually bring in a DJ to moderate live team trivia which created this ecstatic, interactive environment. Even the owner/operator's family gets into the game and the result is a fun, jovial time. As far as the beer is concerned, it was decent. There are certainly better breweries in town but for a nano-sized operation, it was pretty good. Highlight for me was the Samsara DIPA. Best of all though was their social conscience devoting proceeds of their brewing to charity bringing clean water to impoverished communities. All in all, the friendly and thoughtful aspects of Eudora more than make up for some of its more spartan elements. It's definitely a good addition to the Gem City beer scene. read more

This was a big hitter for sure. It was our first time there, although we've been reading a lot about the place and the crowds they have been experiencing. We went on a Saturday night about 6;30, and true to form, it was crowded! Luckily, it is a big space (converted from an old Pep Boys), and so it wasn't wall to wall people. There was plenty of space to move around, plus they had one garage door open and people were out on the patio. We were able to find a table, although there weren't a lot of extra ones available due to the crowd. It is a noisy place with all of those people, so just expect that when you go. There is no waitstaff, so expect to go order your beer/drinks and your food on your own. They had a pool table or two, along with a few other table top games like foosball. They also had a large couch area near a gas fireplace, if you aren't there to eat. They have a large bar, but manage it well. They had only one line, with multiple bar tenders taking orders. They were all very friendly and speedy, and the line moved quickly, no matter how long it got. Sometime there would be up to 10 people in line. They have several beers to try, including ones they brew themselves, along with some from other local brewers. Given the large crowds, they've probably been unable to brew enough on their own to keep up with the demand. We did get charged for a 6 sampler beer when we only ordered a 3 sampler beer, but didn't catch it until we were home. They have a nice menu that isn't too large, but has a nice blend of appetizers, salads, tacos, and sandwiches. There are no true "entrees" on the menu. We started with roasted nuts, chips and salsa, and onion petals. The roasted nuts were actually roasted pistachios and were really good! Not what we were expecting, but really good. The onion petals were also great. We had the grilled cheese sandwich, a salad, and the shrimp banh mi. All were awesome. Friends had the tacos and one of the burgers. They were good as well, but the burger was more well done than expected. The only problem with the food was that the kitchen was really backed up. They give you a pager so that is nice but everything took a really long time to come up. Luckily we weren't in a hurry. The kitchen is not real big, so they are probably a bit limited in how much help they can add to solve the problem. After all, you don't want too many cooks in the kitchen! Beers are pretty good, service is always great, and for "bar food" the food doesn't make you feel like you ate a gallon of grease after (score!) Small brewery in an old strip plaza. It has been here for quite a while so I decided it was time to give it a shot. It is located next to my favorite cigar shop so I grabbed a stogie and walked next door for a beer. They have patio tables out on the sidewalk. It is roped off but you don't have enough room to get to the tables without jumping rope. Not a great idea while drinking. Other problems I had with the patio. 1. they were having trivia inside and they had it on the speakers outside. B. They had a food truck with a very loud generator running. Food truck = awesome - Noise = not very relaxing. 2. The view from every table was a row of cars, bent and ripped umbrellas, and dead landscaping. I ordered the brown ale. Flavor wise it seemed like a solid beer. I had two and both seemed to be a little under carbonated. Other than that it was a decent beer. Decent flat beer and a noisy parking lot patio aren't likely enough to bring me back. There are too many other options and more pop up every day. read more

I visited this new brewery over the weekend. I didn't eat any food so I can't say anything about that, but what I will say is the place is really neat on the inside. Lots of tables, some couches, a couple of pool tables--a fun place to hang out! That being said, for a brewery they did not have a lot of beer on tap. There were 5 or 6 different beers on tap; that's it! I feel like for being a brewery there should've been many more options. I go to bars & restaurants that have more beer on tap than this brewery did. That is the reason I'm only giving Eudora 3 stars. Got to stop in for a flight on a Saturday afternoon. The space is awesome. Tons of space and different seating options. Even though it is large, you don't get lost in it. I love how they do 6 beers in a flight too! I liked everything I had but was hoping for some dark beer options but a brown was as close as they got on my visit. I enjoyed my beers at Eudora Brewing, but the food was actually my favorite part! To drink, I had the Sundowner and the Thunderball. The thunderball was very good and Exactly what I expected it to be. The website describes it as: "Dark malts take over this beer while hops take a backseat. Oatmeal gives the beer a thick, creamy consistency while chocolate and caramel malts give it a unique coffee like flavor with hints of cocoa." However, I was not crazy about the Sundowner. I did not feel like they had a large selection of beers, but the ones that they did have, were tasty. The best part about this place is the food. I had a chicken Caesar salad and my boyfriend had the Southern Belle burger. My chicken salad was VERY good, with the perfect amount of dressing to salad ratio, and the chicken tasted fresh. My boyfriend was impressed with his burger as well, which had pimento cheese, bacon, lettuce, tomato, and onion. I would STRONGLY recommend getting the sweet potato fries as your side. Seriously, these were the best sweet potato fries I have ever eaten! I ate them so quickly that I forgot to even snap a pic! They are thin and really well seasoned, and were absolutely delicious. The atmosphere was enjoyable and they had a pool table, foosball table, darts, board games, and even a little area with some kind of gaming system set up. The kids seemed to enjoy that part! This place was great! We came on a mid-Spring day when the weather was pretty nice. There were lots of seats and tables outside which was great. There is even enough room for kids to throw a ball back and forth! The inside was super spacious and there are a couple pool tables and arcade games. Lots to do. It seemed like there were also some board games although I don't know where they kept them. You order food in one spot and beer at another. Their menu was pretty big for a brewery. The buffalo cauliflower appetizer was actually super delicious and I'd order that again. I didn't think their beer cheese was particularly good that day, but I'd be willing to try again. Also, their spiced nuts came in a pretty huge bowl so just be prepared for that. As for the beer, I really liked some and didn't like a few. The saison, in particular, wasn't spectacular. I did, however, love their brown and amber ales! Will definitely come back again so have some more of their beer and buffalo cauliflower! read more

My first visit to Eudora Brewing Company in Kettering a few weeks ago as part of a fun father & daughter day, where I was celebrating my Dad and his best friend's birthday. Eudora was recommended to me after attending Beer & Sweat home brewing competition, an attendee told me it's the best local brewery in Dayton. Eudora is on Wilmington Pike between David and Rahn roads just past Rollandia golf center, in a small strip mall, you would never know a brewery is there as it looks close to an old convenience store location. Eudora was our first stop as its closest to my parent's house, I grew up nearby off Bigger & Whipp road and excited to try a local craft brewery in the neighborhood. When we walked in there were a few people at the bar as OSU game was on, so my Dad and his friend Paul were happy to enjoy some beer as watch their favorite college football team. The bartender told us Eudora was started by a Fairmont and UD grad, cool, as I'm a Fairmont grad myself. The owner was home brewing and wanted to open his own brewery and Eudora opened late fall 2013. Eudora has detailed beer listing in a great binder on each table, I enjoyed the graphics, beer description, alcohol %, bitterness - IBU and hops used. We went with a sampler which had 6 great beers, served in a great large drop of water sampler holder as you can see in previous review photos. it was interesting to see what our group liked, as several enjoyed the lighter beers, Sundowner, Bee's Knees, while I enjoyed the highly bitter beers, Boomerang IPA was delicious! You can also bring your own snacks, I was prepared from being a seasoned Cincinnati Brewery tap room visitor. They also have food truck visiting from time to time and there's a market next door. Eudora also has home brewing classes where you can brew your own batch of beer and will help you with all of the steps along the way. Plus they believe in giving back and a portion of each purchase goes to the Charity Water, where they bring clean safe drinking water to developing countries. Great job Eudora and Iook forward to returning soon. read more

Very disappointing place, not customer oriented at all. We arrived 10 minutes before open and sat on the patio. A waitress came out and asked us to wait in our car as she had prep to do. Visited the new location in Kettering. It was their opening weekend. The building itself is amazing. Wide open. Lots of seating. Foosball table. Some tv's etc. They even serve sandwiches and other food. Eudora's beer selection includes a couple ipa beers, brown ale, porters, pilsners and ales. They had added a few since I visited the original location. I've had better craft beers but theirs is decent. This place has the potential to be a great summer venue. They have large garage doors and a great patio. I will definitely go back in the spring. read more

Very bad food. Both hamburgers were very dry and the dry rubbed wings were so hard I couldn't bite into them. We took the wings back because they were inedible and the replacments were worst. The employee said, that is how their wings are. If a customer returns food then the employee should do everything she can to make the replacements better. She did not. Spend some time training how employess talk to the customers and get some people in the kitchen that know how to cook. It was our first time there and we won't be back. There are way to many good restaurants to go somewhere where the food and the employees are sub par. read more

I'm so happy for this company. Their new move is amazing. It was a good place when they were small and a phenomenal place now that they're big. I love that they now have food, serve cider and root beer for those who can't have alcohol, and also offer beer that is not solely IPA! Oh and a portion of their proceeds go to a charity that provides clean water to areas of need. Only had food here once, it did take a long time, but they were really busy.
