What a spot. Came here after dinner for a beer with co-workers and had a hard time choosing due to the wide selection (this is a good problem to have!). Ended up going with an IPA and was not disappointed. Staff was friendly, prices were reasonable and oh gosh the artwork!! Phenomenal! So many beautiful pieces, both for sale by local artists and just embedded into the decor (such as the seats on the stools outside). It's evident that these people love their spot. When it comes to bartender personality- this place has it hands down! The beer was pretty good and the frozen wine slushies were the crowd favorite. There was a line going outside the door for these things! This place definitely comes alive later at night! The patio is nice and in the perfect location of the Oregon District for people watching. 1/28/23 Easily the worst bar I have ever been too and Staff is ironically toxic. In my entire life, I have NEVER been thrown out of a bar. I'm not rude and like supporting local establishments. I also respected their desire to remove us and put up zero resistance even though the only crime we committed was having my wife use the men's restroom with me vs. waiting in a line of 10 women. I was being a good husband addressing her female biology issues. Horrible people and sexist. A lot of bars are moving towards unisex restrooms which help alleviate issues like we had. Again, we were not drunk, wasn't belligerent, and were literally doing nothing that merited the way they treated us. We will never be back and I encourage you to walk past this establishment when exploring options. There are MANY more kind, respectful, and interesting establishments to explore in this area! 6/21/23 Update to Tyler Gilcher's response: I want to thank this bar for their reply as they are clearly too stupid to even formulate a good lie. First, she did have female issues and for someone who was "fading" it's quite amazing she could sit on a stool without falling. Maybe gravity in this bar functions different than the rest of our universe. It is true that the female restroom was across from the men's but as I explained she had female issues. I was pissed at their physical abuse and strange behavior. After getting back to our room we began to read other reviews on tripadvisor.com and realized that the workers here have a history of abusing patrons, especially older patrons. In terms of the cool skeleton we took photos with, we did not "knock it down." That is just a bold lie. Funny how they never posted photos showing so. Yes, they did manhandle us and never explained why. It is also true that we have visited other bars as well but were by no means even slightly inebriated at only 9:45pm. Kind of funny how they can admit my "kind ways" and yet act like they know the side effects of an actual person on Coke. I only know of one person who has ever done coke and can tell you that it makes them angry and wild. Both attributes in their only reply that they recounted the opposite representation of us as we were being manhandled out of the bar. Let me also add that they never identified themselves as they were yelling into the restroom. I had no idea of who we were dealing with other than it sounding like violent guys acting like they were on coke. Their largely fabricated lie reply simply provides additional evidence to the toxicity they represent. Karma finds a way and one day it will pay its respects to them sevenfold! We had a great time here on a Sunday night. GPS led me around the corner, but it's easy to find if you're watching. Parking is difficult in this neighborhood. We each had one beer, as we knew we were going somewhere else. They have a lot of their own, plus other stuff on tap. The bartender did a great job describing things and helping us pick, and we got into discussions on various other topics. Everyone there, staff and customers, seemed to be having a good time. Toxic is an awesome brewery in the heart of the Oregon district! A friend and I stopped in here to check them out and they certainly didn't disappoint. It's great to see so many amazing breweries in Ohio and this is a fine example. They have many different brews on tap and our bartender was happy to make recommendations based on our taste. So of course I had to try a couple different IPA's! Both were super hoppy, pretty bitter and exactly how I like it. Watch out though for the Triple IPA, it packs a punch with 12% alcohol! It feels like it's always Halloween at Toxic Brewing Company. It has lots of decorations. There's skulls and zombies. Beer itself is really good. They seem to have an endless number of taps. I had the Toxic Blonde. It's about $5 a pint. This is a light tasting beer that's really smooth. There's many more interesting sounding beers so you have to make several visits. It has more than 20 taps so they have lots to choose from. They don't look big enough to handle so much but they do it somehow. It doesn't have any food but you can bring some in. There's several nearby places. It's in the middle of the Oregon District. Parking sucks around here of course. There's usually some free spots on Brown Street. read more

I may be joining the bandwagon a "tad" late, but I'm absolutely LOVING the awesome breweries we've had the pleasure of "discovering" recently, including this GEM in the Oregon District in Dayton!! I love the more relaxed atmosphere, the TON of choices (and great info) even a non-beer fanatic like myself can't resist, and just the general up and coming vibe of these great labors of love!! We got a Groupon for three tastings per person, along with two souvenir glasses and a growler. We smartly arrived pretty early on a Saturday evening (around 6pm) and found nearby parking (my constant worry when heading over to the Oregon District) and great seats right at the bar. AWESOME bartender did a great job of keeping up with what everyone needed, including a good number of people beside us with those "pesky" Groupons!! He had NO BACKUP, and we saw the poor guy apparently trying to call someone else in, but no luck while we were there, and service really didn't miss a beat. He needed HELP though, felt bad for the guy, and hope that's not the usual situation on a busy Saturday night.... We enjoyed our flights, soooooooo many tempting choices, it was hard to decide which to take home in our new growler. We'll have to come back SOON to try more!! I stopped by here on a trip to visit friends in Dayton. It was our first bar of the night and easily my favorite. Cool beer list with eclectic names. I loved the skeleton decor throughout the place. I had a grapefruit drink with dried blood orange and it was a stiff, but good cocktail. My husband enjoyed all the draft beers he tried. The bartenders were friendly and it had a cool vibe. I couldn't stop laughing that they had Barefoot Chardonnay on tap for $7 though, which is clearly the price of a bottle, but who orders that at a brewery?? I have been back to Toxic several times and always want to like it, but never really do. We came here after dinner on a Saturday and it just is a night ender. The beers they make are so hit or miss on quality and taste, Blonde is absolutely awful. They have guest taps and liquor so finding something to drink is fine, but I want to drink the local beer, but just don't like theirs. Wish I did. It's nice they have popcorn and shuffleboard, but the setup is bad. When the bar is busy you can't move or play shuffleboard because the bar line goes into it. They need to reorganize or something and hope they can get their beer up to the quality of some of their neighbors and I'd be back, otherwise it's not likely. Love the plants everywhere too, but they are just not enough for us to return any time soon. read more

There is no kitchen but Toxic has a great laid back atmosphere with good beers made here in Dayton! They have a great selection and donate monthly to charitable organizations in the area. As to why I never have reviewed one of my favorite places until now idk.... hmmm where to start!? ALL of the bartenders are my favs and they absolutely know how to entertain or create/serve you a great drink. I love to come here for Sunday Funday after brunch for a mimosa and people watching on their patio. If you don't like beer they have a cocktail or even a glass of wine for you. As of lately they have different events once a month. On Thursday they have started having ladies night which includes 25% of all the ladies tab the entire night. (Nice right?). Drink specials during the week as well. Other the drinks I truly adore how much Toxic is so into helping not only their peers but people of the Dayton community. They have a monthly charity and also some of their (if not all) of their events have a percentage of the money made for that night going towards a great cause. Love this place to pieces! read more

We decided to check out this local brewery since we were in the area. The interior was interesting but oddly small feeling due to the layout. The bartender was nice and helpful during our selection. I found the beer selection to be large but the taste seemed off. I have been to plenty of breweries and most have been decent. Supppper impressed with Toxic Brew Company - so much so that we came back twice in one day! We started our bar crawl here and ordered up some bloody mary's - the mix was house made and had so many layers of flavors! They added some of their beer to it and it was really incredible. On our second visit it turned into a community gathering space. It was a saturday night and very lively. I came back because I just had to try this paloma cocktail made with their beer. KUDOS to a brewery for offering cocktails. Seriously this is few and far between and almost everyone at the bar where I was sitting was ordering cocktails. It was everything I love about a paloma - tart, refreshing, and easy! I was so satisfied I came back to try it, had some seriously fomo action going on. We also played some of their board games they had available and everyone at the bar was passing them back and forth. If I were to imagine what the guys opening this spot wanted -- it would be this. Everyone in a great mood, having a good time, and most of all creating community through beer and they have. They have brought the community together in a way I haven't seen a lot of places do. A small little brewery in an odd, but safe-during-the-daytime, part of town. Located right next to some pretty seedy adult stores, the brewery offers indoor and outdoor seating. It's a neat, small brewery with character and one that clearly supports the local Ohio brewery scene. We came here with a Groupon to encourage us to start exploring Dayton's brew scene, and we might come back. It wasn't a stellar experience, but it was a-okay. PROS: -Beers were pretty decent, and they run the gamut with ABV. You can get their lighter beers, or you can go up for 9% offerings. Their flights make it pretty easy to try four beers at once - though to be honest, I only was really into the idea of ordering a couple off of their 10+ offerings. A lot of their beers seem similar to one another, but they all tasted pretty decent. -Toxic Brew Company knows people like to play games while they drink, and they've got you covered there. There's a HUGE assortment of board games to choose from in addition to a giant Jenga set-up and a shuffleboard. -Despite this being located in the Oregon district (with limited parking), Toxic Brew Company happens to located in front of a parking lot. It's $3 for 12 hours of parking if you choose to utilize the lot, but it really is the easiest parking around unless you're open to trying to drive around to find free parking. -Toxic Brew Company offers cocktails, their beers, guest taps, and cans/bottles of other local Ohio breweries. You'll likely be able to find something that you're interested in drinking, and for a small brewery, it has one of the most expansive beer offerings I've ever seen! -Interesting artwork all over the interior including awesome murals outside of the building as well. CONS: -It definitely *feels* like Toxic Brewing Company could be the oldest-running brewery in Dayton. Everything is a bit dated. It's not terrible, but it doesn't feel as clean or as modern as some of the newer breweries around. The scuffed up wooden floors, clearly-old tables, industrial-looking building, all add to the "we've been operating a long time!" vibe. That being said, the place is clean - just not particularly modern-looking. -Indoor seating is relatively limited for a brewery. If it was a particularly busy night, you might have problems finding a spot. There is bar seating as well as a couple tables, but that's the gist of it. It's a relatively small indoor area to begin with, though, so I think they'd have problems trying to squeeze more tables in. -It was insanely hot outside, and it was pretty toasty inside on the day I came too. Maybe the building loses a lot of AC because of its age, but I would have liked to have felt comfortable inside. -Service felt a bit lackluster. She wasn't *rude*, but she wasn't enthusiastic towards us either. She seemed a lot more animated with other customers, so I'm not sure if it was the Groupon, knowing those customers, or just feeling pretty overworked that night. Definitely somewhere to drink. I mean come on, who has ever heard of using Sriacha as an ingredient in beer? Call it insane, or call it genius, either way Toxic Brew is a definite spot to try out if you're in Dayton. I've tried beers out before from many different breweries, and I have to say Toxic is really something else. I came here during July-ish (I know, I"m pretty late on this review but hey it's called procrastination!) and what I came away was if I were to ever come back to this place this will definitely be one of the spots that I will visit and see if there's anything new on the menu. The range of beers is vast and the bartender was awesome. She gave us a try of that Sriacha beer, even though it was an experimental brew it was definitely different. You can taste it when you drink and on the way down it starts burning as if you ate a pepper. The feeling is something else. Inside, there's a long bar as well as local art that is supplied by the community. They have a popcorn machine right across the room and I thought that was unique. I mean, come on a bar with popcorn? Does it even mix? Anyways, I didn't try out the popcorn because we just had a good meal a couple blocks from this place. This brewery will be on my list to visit the next time I'm in town! read more

After having lunch at Zombie Dogz my boyfriend saw on Yelp that Toxic Brew Company was nearby so he wanted to check it out. Plus he was drawn to the name. We pulled in the lot and I was already taking mass pictures. The building itself is very artsy and even walking in, you will be intrigue with the unique décor. Loved the Skulls, zombies, gremlins and local art on the walls. We were greeted right away. Sat at the bar and our bartender was very friendly. Gave us a history and how the place started. Even as he was pouring our beers, he was explaining how it was made. He also took me to the back to take pictures of the beer tanks. I thought that was really nice. My boyfriend and I had to do two flights because they had such a great selections of craft beers. We tried: Single hopped Mankato Night ender stout Safety 3rd triple IPA Abbey's cure triple NIP mango habanero sour Hanger 18-Porter Toxic blonde NIP grog of grogen-Scottish Strong Ale It was so hard to choose my favorite because they were ALL good!!! Brews. Tattoos. Rad dudes. I love taking friends who are visiting to Toxic! It's always warm, welcoming and full of really great patrons and knowledgeable staff. I was recently there to take a friend out for his birthday. Our bartender, Alex, gave us some fantastic recommendations for what we should try. Everything we had was delicious! Alex was even kind of to talk to us about some of the stellar tattoo artist in the area! It's clear that Alex really loves what he does, he takes pride in his work and city. I'm from Oregon and thought guy it was neat there was an Oregon district in Dayton! Being from micro brew capital of the world I love checking out other breweries. First off, the Oregon district is great as is the decor in this brewery. I really liked all the odd paintings and other art inside. I also liked the logo on some of their clothing (so much I bought one for my friend). The beer was decent, not as hoppy an IPA I like, but very drinkable. The session IPA was also decent, nothing to write home about. The issue I had was with the staff. They seemed very disengaged with the customers. One of the bartenders was doing shots with a group of guys at the end of the table, I think they were friends. The other two kind of wandered around and seemed very unenthused to get me a beer. Overall it seemed like a fun place. I just don't like bar tenders who aren't responsive or engaged, especially when I'm traveling alone. Overall: C+ read more

I love the logo and how they've incorporated this as well as the "toxic" concept into the decor of this brewpub. The scenery is the best part and the fact this it's located in the Oregon district so there are plenty of interesting places nearby. The pour spouts are displayed on a really cool wooden piece that is shaped like an ethanol molecule. The beers were ok and I liked the jalapeno one. There is also free popcorn available. read more
