Eureka had a ton of great games and very knowledgeable staff. They even had games that I thought were pretty obscure, though they also had plenty of common ones like Dominion and Carcassonne. I would go here all the time if I didn't live several states away. read more

Despite being a rather small shop, Eureka is totally packed full of goodness. As a board game enthusiast, I was extremely happy with their great selection of games. If I had more room in my luggage I would have enjoyed getting a puzzle, too, but alas, only enough room for a small game. The employees seemed to really enjoy their jobs and were quite knowledgeable. This store is such a treasure! Not only is the assortment of puzzles, games, educational toys, mindbenders, and cool gadgets pretty amazing, but the staff is quite friendly. They have recommended some fabulous games to me over the past year, and I often just enjoy browsing through all the coolness. This experience does come at a slight premium, however, with most items selling at MSRP and few discounts offered other than their frequent buyer program. That said, I will shell out a couple of extra bucks here and there to purchase items from Eureka over Amazon every once in a while; it's important to support local businesses and I love the charm of this place. read more

Super helpful and knowledgable about all the strategy games. Came here looking for Risk and, after asking about a few other games, came out with a beautiful world conquer strategy game. These guys know their games. Lots of smaller versions of party games as well. It's a shame kids today don't appreciate a board game read more

This place is amazing. The space is not huge, but they somehow manage to fit a TON of different games in here, all while still ahving the system make sense and it's quite easy to find the type of game you're looking for. Moreover, the staff is wonderful. THe last time I came in with my girlfriend, we were going on vacation and were looking for something to take with us. The gentleman asked us a few questions and had a handful of suggestions, and we had a great time with what he came up with. read more

I give the puzzles and whoever selected the inventory a 10 plus I found everyone to be a great help, minus one employee who really put me off by while looking at rings was convinced I had pocketed one when she had forgotten she put it back I went in again just today and the first think she said was your the guy who was looking at rings, the first day I was planning on getting a few gifts for friends but was so turned off by the accusation I turn right around TODAY I went in and bought a ring and a few puzzles and acted with no resentment and was my usual self, it's not the owners fault and I love the store Understandably people steal but the place is so small a bit of trust would have been nice, I am 21 and think I can afford some puzzles Kind of dissapointing read more

It is fantastic! It's a relatively small store, but packed to the brim with puzzles and games. The employees are SO friendly, immediately welcoming you to the store, and explaining how it's organized. Group games here, travel games there, limited edition games over there, card games down there, kids games back there. I ooo-ed and ahhhh-ed and then played to my little heart's delight (and brain's frustration). While the completely unpretentious employees are definitely eager and available to help, they also knew when to just let me do my puzzle thing. I tried out a bunch of the plastic puzzle games like Rush Hour (I wanted to get the Safari Rush Hour soo bad, mostly because they have animal pieces instead of cars...cool!) and Square to Square (which I eventually bought, because it's small and compact...and so boring looking), playing for probably a good 45 min. Eureka is a 10 minute walk from my apartment, so it's likely I'll be here often. I'm dying to go to one of their game nights as well! I haven't played/bought games in years, so I do not know how their prices compare, but I left feeling like a blissful kid again! read more

We hired Eureka for our son's Bar Mitzvah party. Multiple guests said it was the best party they ever attended. The staff was helpful throughout the whole process. There was never an "upsell." And they tailored the party based on the needs and desires of our son. The best part might have been the structure of the party. There were activities for all levels of social engagement. There were games for people who wanted to sit quietly alone, or pairs, and for large groups. At one point, a group of 60+ old cousins were all huddled around a game. Went here for a couple different board games for my wife and I. I walked in overwhelmed from their amazing selection. After about two min I was greeted and got the full tour. I told them what I was looking for and they nailed it with a handful of games. Tell them what you want and be prepared to be amazed. Highly recommend this place!! read more

Puzzle addicts unite! I don't think I've ever seen a stand-alone puzzle store; I thought I was the only person above the age of 10 who loved puzzles, but I guess not? Eureka has clearly changed my life. They offer affordable puzzles that range from easy to extremely difficult - I think the biggest puzzle I saw was 30,000 pieces and it went for $300+, for a reference to how difficult their puzzles can get. I ended up leaving with 2 550-piece puzzles (~$10-15 each) and 1 1000-piece puzzle that was about ~$20. I am subtracting 1 star because the customer service is not that great and another because I checked in through yelp because their yelp page claims that you can get "1 free gift with purchase" & the person working there had no clue what I was talking about when I showed him the yelp page, so I left with no free gift :( Big bummer, but don't get me wrong... this place is heaven for puzzle-lovers. read more

I can't say enough about this place. The staff are amazing - so helpful, enthusiastic about games, puzzles, science, and other cool stuff. The selection is fantastic and they always have enough display puzzles to play with. I stop here every year now to get puzzles for my Dad who has been collecting puzzles since before I was born. To say it's difficult to get stuff for him is a major understatement - but Eureka always comes through. read more

My four-year-old loves puzzles, and Eureka is the best place to go for them. Neither Magic Beans nor Henry Bear have much of a selection, whereas Eureka has a good selection of Melissa & Doug puzzles, as well as other choices. We really like this place. read more

Eureka is a one-of-a-kind and completely wonderful store. They focus on puzzles and games, not toys. Absolutely ZERO overlap with Toys R US and other awful big box places. They have a terrific selection. Staff is very helpful. They have something for everyone, from younger children to adults. I have bought birthday gifts for 6-12 year olds, games for the family, and a puzzle for my 45-year-old brother in law. This is the kind of unique store that needs to be supported! read more

i gotta say this place has me boggled from start to end , the brain puzzles are empowering . The staff easily help you around and share interests pertaining to products . the small dice are cute but clearly get lost , i have a puzzle book that i have yet to decode ( its been 2 years ) but its challenging and worth it . This store is awesome. Not only do they have a great selection of board games and puzzles, but their staff rocks too! After my customer service experience today, I just had to sign up for Yelp and write this review. My card was accidentally charged twice for the same purchase, and I called up the store and they reversed the charge right away without any hassle at all. I have had to fight stores through my bank for this type of thing, but the woman who helped me on the phone was amazing and extremely courteous. Well done Eureka! I will continue to support this awesome local gaming store for as long as they are around. And PS- they have game nights starting soon once the weather gets better! BONUS! read more

The sales stuff was knowledgeable about the games but that's the only good thing I can say about this place. I bought a deluxe scrabble addition which was defective what I opened it. The wood was scratched and some of the letters were worn to the point of being illegible. Still they refused to give me my money back so I had to settle for over 100 dollars in store credit. Not their fault it was defective, (I'll assume) but store credit for defective merchandise is unacceptable. read more
