This place was so cute! I saw a bunch of items I've never seen before which was cool! It was pretty small, but it kinda felt like stepping into another world. There's some really cool memorabilia, notebooks, keychains, quill pens, puzzles, book sets, posters, and the like. I got a set of Honeyduke's playing cards (just a regular deck but with sweets on them) and a time turner necklace for my friend. This was a quick stop on a great street for shopping.

If you're a Harry Potter fan this is a cute little store to stop in. They have just about everything Harry Potter. The store is a bit small, definitely can't have too many people in at once.

Aka - The Harry Potter store. This used to be a fairy core store back in the day, but that part of their business has moved. If you're a fan of Harry Potter, there's a lot of unique gifts here that differs from the universal parks. For starters, you can get butter bear to take home or back to your hotel. There's a lot of house merch and collectable wands. It's a pretty tiny store so it might get too crowded if you're not a fan of small spaces. Yet whether you're a fan or have some nostalgia for the franchise, it's worth taking a peak into.

Great shop And better owner. I was visiting Boston with my 9 yr old son for opening day @ Fenway. Stumbled upon his shop and had a great visit. The owner talked with us for over 40 minutes about all the great spots to visit in Boston. Had a great time. My son bought a small toy from there. Lots to look at and just feels luke you are in a real shop in Harry Potter. Highly recommended--- Thanks again Shawn Boise, Idaho

Very disappointed in this store I bought earrings that where very cute for 50$ he said they were gold plate (lies) I found them last night online same earring for 15$ dollars and the necklace for 20$ Over all at the store I spend 116 for something I could had bought online that is from the official Harry Potter collection am very upset and that not cool to take advantage of us fans like that

If you name yourself the fairy shop... shouldn't you at least have fairies?! The place should be called Wizard World. It is completely all about Harry Potter, which is great for Harry Potter fans. If you're looking for light/ dark fairy faire... this is not your destination.

No fairies here. Just lots of wizards and witches. Just cross through platform 9 3/4 to enter into a unique Harry Potter themed and merchandise store. Though it be very tight quarters, every turn you make has a surprising twist. There's plenty of trinkets, nicknacks you'll want to buy but you probably don't need. You're find wands, shot glasses, a golden snitch bracelets, earrings, and necklaces too. You're be able to buy the Harry Potter book collection to replace your old books at home, themes mugs, socks, slippers and oh, is that Hedwig I see? Price is higher than to order online but did you think rent is free on Newbury Street? I am sure it'd be cheaper had this been Diagon Alley but atlas I digress. If you are a Harry Potter fan or know a Harry Potter fan, be sure to visit here at least once. You will be in for a treat. Did I mention the treats? You can buy chocolate frogs, no frogs harmed in the making of course. Oh! Don't forget the jelly beans. And as expected, some flavors were not meant for consumption. I didn't finish the box. I must say, the best part of the experience for me was conversing with the owner as if we were in the wizarding world of Harry Potter. Even the owner will surprise you and he will test your Harry Potter knowledge. Have a chat and have some chuckles. You can tell that wizards and witches are welcomed, and muggles are tolerated.

For Harry Potter lovers, this place is the ultimate haven for you! My girlfriend is a huge HP fan and we noticed the sign on the street and just had to check it out, and we were not disappointed at all. For a smaller store there was plenty of interesting things to see and a lot of items you wouldn't find online or anywhere else with ease. My girlfriend got a baby Hedwig wrapped up nicely and a beautiful new wallet. The owner was extremely polite and conversational and if you're a fan of Harry Potter you have to check this place out!

Wow. We were drawn in by the "chillin' with my gnomies" sign, hoping for a t-shirt. They got 'em! Quite a selection of gnomes and gnome-motif stuff. We got a magnet with the gnome phrase and chatted with the owner. He told us about the gnomes, how they earn their keep by protecting the place and cleaning up for him. Uh... I'm not much into their style of jewelry and design, so we didn't spend much time here. Good place to shop for all your fairy and gnome-related needs, though.

This spot was adorable - both for books and food…read more We lucked out as we didn't have a reservation, but called and turns out they had an outdoor table available. We weren't sure how to enter, so we started in the bookstore and found their convenient elevator downstairs! The restaurant is tiny but cozy, which is the perfect atmosphere for a book store! We sat outside in the little courtyard and it's a mix of magical and relaxing! There were only a few tables, so it wasn't overcrowded and with nice weather, it was perfect. I had a salad with salmon on the side which was delicious - and the ginger lemonade - wonderful! From buttered noodles to seafood, everything was executed well. The staff didn't rush us even though they were busy - and they had to give really long wait times to a number of others, but we still weren't rushed. I would highly recommend reservations, but even without we were treated very well. Pricing was in line with city pricing - and the food was extremely high quality and produce was lovely - not a shriveled lettuce leaf in sight. We then went upstairs to the bookstore and perused - each floor has something fun to see (including a tiny kids door - or is it a mouse door for the mouse who stars in the book about the store?!). 100% worth a visit - definitely stop in!

Beacon Hill Books and Cafe is a three story independent bookstore set inside a townhouse on Beacon…read moreHill, and the physical space does as much work as the inventory in making it worth a visit. We walked into a building with the kind of architectural character that chain bookstores cannot manufacture, with small rooms opening into each other across multiple floors, wallpapered walls, and reading nooks distributed throughout that invite you to slow down rather than move through quickly. The book selection is well curated with staff recommendation cards on the shelves that actually reflect genuine enthusiasm rather than perfunctory notes. We saw limited edition hardcovers and local and regional titles appearing alongside the broader fiction and nonfiction selection. Browsing felt productive rather than overwhelming because the curation kept things focused. The kids section upstairs is one of the more delightful in Boston, with a train running along a track near the ceiling that tends to make a strong impression on younger visitors. There is also an art print vending machine on the second floor that draws its own audience of visitors looking for something small and specific to take home. The cafe occupies the lower level and operates as a separate experience from the bookshop above. We ordered the oat milk cappuccino with Vermont maple syrup, which was worth it. The morning glory scone and the popovers are two other items to consider. The cafe is tiny, around eight tables inside with a small patio, and reservations are recommended for breakfast and afternoon tea service. Pricing at the cafe is on the higher end, and certain fixed price service formats on specific dates push it considerably further, so checking current pricing before booking is worth doing. For a bookshop that doubles as a destination in its own right, Beacon Hill Books and Cafe delivers a cozy, curated experience that rewards lingering. It is the kind of place we would return to just to sit and read with a good coffee.
