Came in with my sister for dinner takeout. I had this place for the first time years ago, but didn't remember how it was. Gyro sandwich was a 4 out of 10. Lacking in flavor and overpriced. $20 for a combo. Lemon chicken soup was not good I ended up not eating it. It had a thick consistency with shredded pieces of chicken. Baklava was good My mom said the chocolate cake was OK. She likes the lemon square also and said it was not too sweet. Overall the place was just ok. Nothing to run to. Greek food is my favorite and I've tried better places. I did notice that they had Pakistan good as well as Indian. If I do return, I may try the butter chicken next time. read more

Euro Bakery makes custom cakes, desserts, & pastries. Many of their cakes are displayed for purchase at the counter as well as pastries and more. Perfect spot for lunch, enjoying a treat, or grabbing coffee. Besides desserts, they also have a full kitchen menu. I loved the chicken sandwich. They were out of croissants but I actually really enjoyed it on pita. The gyro sandwich was also really good. Fast and friendly service, really great prices! My sandwich was right around $8. Parking onsite. Nice interior dining space. It did seem like they were out of quite a few items on the menu but I think Hurricane Beryl might have contributed to that and is understandable. The lady we ordered with also gave us a complimentary pistachio baklava to try when we ordered their original baklava, which we thought was super nice. Rude and unfortunately also disorganized. I placed an order in person for a fruit tart to be ready the following day and they gave me a time to pick it up, but when I got there it seemed like they had completely forgotten about it and asked for me to pick it up later. I left and came back a few hours later and when I did get it I wished that I hadn't. A thin layer of stiff, poorly flavored custard the consistency of cupcake frosting was spread on top of a half inch thick crust with fruits hurriedly spread on top without any form of glaze to help preserve the fruits or even hold them in place. I do not like to discredit any business, as any kind of service provided takes time and effort for the person delivering it, but they were immediately dismissive when I tried to convey what I was unhappy with. I wish my experience could have been better, since this location is so close to home, but I will be looking elsewhere for future orders. :( read more

Don't be put off, give it a try! My first thought pulling up was that the front door was sort of cute. However, just be prepared when you walk in to see that it's a little ratty and unprepossessing and menus are definitely a problem because there are only two of them and they were all patched up. Mr. Picky wanted to turn around and walk out, but I was so desperate for Greek food that I was willing to give it a try, particularly when I heard that they pretty much make everything from scratch here. So we stayed to give it a try. The Soutzoukakia was amazing, well-seasoned and the garlic sauce as a dip was great with my bites. The rice on the plate was very flavorful, a really good surprise, and the vegetables were all clearly fresh. We ordered a salad to start and the lettuce was fresh and still crunchy, so somebody in the kitchen definitely cared about what they were sending out. The restaurant is not in our area and, therefore, I doubt we'll go back, but if you live in that region then you might want to give them a shot and see how your meal goes. read more

Saturday night and this place is empty. We were it for the longest time. Only one guy repping the front of house and he was working the back too. Still with just one table initially, it seemed adequate. Kinda made for a long wait for the check though. Food is hit or miss. My gyro platter was great, lots of meat and it came with a drink and dessert. A bargain. The Greek pizza was a miss, tiny and not all that Greek. Greek coffee was intense but delicious. Salads were big. They're a bakery so pastries are must haves. Just plan to spend some time if they "get busy". read more

I can't believe I posted my first review of Euro Bakery 7 years ago! Since then, there are new owners and new bakery items. With the cost of ingredients rising, their prices rose as well. I ordered a chocolate decadence cake and it was $50, but seemed smaller than what it used to be. It was a two-layer cake, but I could've sworn it used to be 3 layers back in the day. The cake was a big hit this weekend though! I didn't have a chance to try their food this time around, but there are still a lot of items from the original owners that I saw on the menu. read more

We ordered the Lemony Chicken & Orzo Soup which I have had many times from Greek restaurants and in Greece. This one has little to no lemon and limited amount of Orzo. It was bland with a lot of herbs with tough chicken. I added fresh lemon to try and add more of the flavor at home. read more

Found this place by doing a search on Yelp because I didn't know the area. It had a 4.5 rating, so I went with it, even though it's a 15-minute drive from my hotel. The atmosphere is friendly in an odd setup, but friendly service is way more important! The food would determine everything. The Chicken Panini was excellent! When I was done eating, I was ready for more. The fries were also very good. There were only 15 fries (I counted), but one of them was really big, so let's go with 15.5. I also don't mind the 15.5 fries because the prices here are excellent. Highly recommended! read more

I have to say that their food is good (at least from the pita I tried), but the service is really lacking. It's like a small mom & pop shop with 1 person working the front as well as serving, and 2 people in the back cooking. It would be so beneficial if they could have 1 additional person because it took us a long time to get our drink order in, and then to order actual food. The man in front was caught up ringing up other to-go orders and that's why he couldn't really tend to anyone else at the tables. I got the grilled chicken panini pita which was cooked well and the meat had great flavor. It came with a couple pita chips and tzaziki sauce. It's a bit pricey for what it is. $10 for the pita and 2 pieces of chips where as most places give you some fries or a small salad in addition. I'm not sure if I'll be coming back even though the food was a solid 4.5 stars. read more

Came in and had some great tasting fresh coffee and lemon orzo chicken soup. Really hit the spot.   The Owners were friendly and I overheard customers complimenting the food to each other even when the owners were back in the kitchen out of hearing range.  I was writing a speech in the corner for a while and it was fun to see the flow, the conversations, and the variety of customers. Will be ordering a famous princess cake (marzipan!) for next week. If you haven't tried that or miss Europe, get one! I wish the new owners the best of success in their new endeavor. I shared some personal thoughts on why that place had been a neighborhood icon for so long, and we had some very nice interactions. I love seeing families running honest businesses and I know Houston is pretty cut throat as foodie capital :) . read more

Needed a sweet tooth fix and stopped by this establishment after doing a Yelp search. I grabbed one hazelnut cake, one coffee cake and a red velvet cake ball- don't worry, not all for me. Red velvet cake ball- really really basic. Didn't taste like red velvet at all. Hazelnut cake- now this was good! Very moist and a huge piece. This place is delicious and has a nice collection of Mediterranean and Greek dishes both sweet and savory to whet your appetite! Try the corn cakes with honey, the chai, or the lemon bars! Baklava is also Delicious here! read more

At first glance I wasn't expecting much but boy was i wrong! The moment you walk in you're welcomed by a smell of wonderfully baked goods! Their display was full of so many beautiful pastries ! It was kind of intimidating but once i asked the employee to just add her favorites, i knew i was in good hands! One of my favorites was a cookie that had white chocolate and raspberries. My husbands favorite was a black Forrest cake slice which he described as the perfect amount of chocolate for any chocolate lover, it wasn't to sweet or overbearing . The only reason we have it 4 instead of 5 was because it was kinda pricey but we understand why, you can tell all the pastries are made with time and quality ingredients but it may be difficult for other to afford. Only ordered a birthday chocolate cake, 2 days ahead. It was made on time and it was a really good cake. The cream between layers felt fresh and in general it was not crazy sweet as typical chocolate cakes from bakeries are. Definitely will consider them when having to order cakes. I have wanted to visit Euro Bakery since the original owners were there, but just never made it. We got to go thid weekend and desserts looked beautiful. We dined in and were surprized that lunch specials are offered everyday, all day, although not much price difference in regular menu. We each had a Gyro and it came with a little container of Tzatziki and Pita Chips, but the actual Gyro was sadly lacking the pizzazz of a gteat Gyro. We ordered a slice of the Greek Custard Dessert and they said they had one slice left. Well, we ordered it. I told the young owner's son that it had sat in syrup all day and was very soggy. I suggested they wait until serving or at least 15 minutes before adding syrup, because the Fillo was a soggy, chewy mess. As we were leaving, a new tray was put in the showcase. I was so disappointed because at $6, you expect at least a fairly decent dessert. I know there are new Pakistani owners and would love to see a good Pakistani restaurant, while keeping the lovely cakes they currently serve. Very nice staff and very attentive staff. read more

Absolutely amazing cake! My god. The tiramisu is so good. So moist and full of flavor. Literally the best cake ever! The icing is like whip cream or something. So good! If you enjoy homemade cakes made with love this is the spot. If you want to buy an amazing cake for your child, spouse, special occasion, etc this is your spot. I have also tried the German chocolate which was really good as well. I have to say the tiramisu is my favorite. I have yet to try their Greek food but that's next on my list. This is by far my favorite bakery in the champions area. Family owned and they are extremely nice people. They understand customer service and make you feel at home. I gave this place 4 stars because the food is delicious, the service is great, but the desserts are just "ok", therefore the desserts are a bit overpriced. The previous owners provided desserts that had the "WOW" factor to them. I don't know if the new owners have made cut backs or decreased the quality with vendors, but something big is missing from their flavor and freshness. I suggest they identify the missing link that will bring back the "WOW" factor. I most likely will not return. read more

So disappointed. It's been a few years since I had come for lunch. My son got a yogurt milk out of the refrigerator that was over 2 months past due. Then he saw a coffee flavored Pellegriano water that was dated 2011!! The glass tables were dirty and were wiped down using old water. Hands down best bday cake I ever had! They made it exactly like my hubby knew I wanted it like! Raspberry swirl, light and refreshing with a fondant that was out of this world! Slick and a marble like appearance in gold with light pinks and hues of gold. There was a spillage of rock candy that made an beautiful illusion of lava. Beautiful art piece and bonus!!!! Food was very good. Service was friendly and fast. But sadly they do not understand handicapped patrons. The owners car was parked in Handicapped spot backed in to space as to block wheelchair ramp. Was asked several times to move but was too busy installing dessert cases in front of restaurant. When finally asked again to have vehicle moved. He said he would then disappeared for 7 minutes with me standing there! Only to come back out to say that he was sorry but he had NO keys. That his wife must have taken them when she left. I placed an order via phone and the lady was very nice and assisted me with ordering an cake. I had ordered strawberry and cream cake it was 10in and it was really good. I loved the consistency of the cake it was spongy and moist. The flavors of the cake was amazing definitely recommend for birthday cakes and special occasions. This is such a cute little bakery with a casual (but very nice) dining area. There's lovely music playing and I really enjoyed the atmosphere. The menu is very short, which is great if you take hours to decide what to eat like me. My friend and I got a half order of pita and hummus to share, which was filling enough for an appetizer. Unfortunately, the pita chips tasted a bit burnt, but the hummus was amazing! We each ordered the Chicken Souvlaki Pita as our dish. Took a while to come out, but when it did, the chicken was so worth it. The chicken is seasoned so nicely and it's so juicy. The pita comes with tzatziki sauce which is okay, and a few more pita chips. Afterwards, we decided to go look at the cakes at the front of the store. I don't believe they had a full selection out, but we got a slice of German chocolate and a slice of Nutella cake. They taste as good as they look! The German chocolate is a rich cake with amazing fudge icing. It's very heavy, so we weren't able to finish it all. The Nutella cake was my favorite! Sweet layers with such a nice, light buttercream. Very easy to eat it all without sharing! Our waiter was extremely kind to us and made sure we had everything we needed. In January 2023 contacted Euro Bakery about providing a wedding cake for my daughters Wedding. I asked the owner of she could produce the nude cake as denoted in the pic. She said yes.. She stated that she wouldn't be able to provide the berries but otherwise would be able to duplicate the cake in the pic provided. She went on to say that she also owned a flower shop so providing the flowers would not be an issue. Fast forward to my daughtera May 13th wedding day, this is the cake that was delivered. The pics say to all. When I reached out to the owner, somehow, she expeessed that the cake provided looked WONDERFUL....I COULD NOT HAVE BEEN MORE DISAPPOINTED. I never expected perfection, but there are no similarities between the two cakes. What a huge disappointment. The cake was to be delivered at 11am but it was not delivered until after 3pm. I urge you not to use this very unprofessional bakery for your wedding cake needs. They over promise and under deliver.... This was a once in a lifetime event ...we cant have a replay or redo. read more

Outstanding! We ordered to-go but we will definitely be back to dine-in- the dining room is very inviting and looked clean and cozy. For dinner, we ordered the Greek Salad with gyro meat and an order of Greek fries and the small size feta and olives. The food was fresh and very high quality- we loved the vinaigrette dressing with good quality olive oil and the creamy feta was the best we've ever had. The portion was enormous! For dessert, we brought home a slice of the mocha cake, an Italian almond cookie, and a raspberry Linzer cookie. They were all fantastic- reminded us of the pastries we ate in Italy. But it just so happens the owner is also a food blogger with a website - http://www.dimitrasdishes.com She makes videos that teach people how to cook Greek food! And that's rare... But back to the cafe. I'd say they are 60% bakery / 40% cafe. The bakery items are astoundingly good. And the cafe is fresh and healthy. Take the gyros for example - the standard option is served on a thin whole wheat pita with thin sliced meat cooked on the griddle, as opposed to your standard gyro meat that's sliced off a spit and served on a white thick piece of pita. It's different, but still tasty and certainly more healthy then your traditional fast-food variant. If you're in the mood for a light meal that won't drag you down, stop on in. And make sure to share an order of the custard pie (galaktoboureko). It's among the best I've ever had in my life. read more
