Not quite agvelemona soup but Mr. Picky finished it off, not bad.
    Ruth K.

Don't be put off, give it a try! My first thought pulling up was that the front door was sort of cute. However, just be prepared when you walk in to see that it's a little ratty and unprepossessing and menus are definitely a problem because there are only two of them and they were all patched up. Mr. Picky wanted to turn around and walk out, but I was so desperate for Greek food that I was willing to give it a try, particularly when I heard that they pretty much make everything from scratch here. So we stayed to give it a try. The Soutzoukakia was amazing, well-seasoned and the garlic sauce as a dip was great with my bites. The rice on the plate was very flavorful, a really good surprise, and the vegetables were all clearly fresh. We ordered a salad to start and the lettuce was fresh and still crunchy, so somebody in the kitchen definitely cared about what they were sending out. The restaurant is not in our area and, therefore, I doubt we'll go back, but if you live in that region then you might want to give them a shot and see how your meal goes.

Hastily placed fruits on top of tart.

Rude and unfortunately also disorganized. I placed an order in person for a fruit tart to be ready the following day and they gave me a time to pick it up, but when I got there it seemed like they had completely forgotten about it and asked for me to pick it up later. I left and came back a few hours later and when I did get it I wished that I hadn't. A thin layer of stiff, poorly flavored custard the consistency of cupcake frosting was spread on top of a half inch thick crust with fruits hurriedly spread on top without any form of glaze to help preserve the fruits or even hold them in place. I do not like to discredit any business, as any kind of service provided takes time and effort for the person delivering it, but they were immediately dismissive when I tried to convey what I was unhappy with. I wish my experience could have been better, since this location is so close to home, but I will be looking elsewhere for future orders. :(

    Gyro Plate

Saturday night and this place is empty. We were it for the longest time. Only one guy repping the front of house and he was working the back too. Still with just one table initially, it seemed adequate. Kinda made for a long wait for the check though. Food is hit or miss. My gyro platter was great, lots of meat and it came with a drink and dessert. A bargain. The Greek pizza was a miss, tiny and not all that Greek. Greek coffee was intense but delicious. Salads were big. They're a bakery so pastries are must haves. Just plan to spend some time if they "get busy".

    Chocolate Decadence Cake

I can't believe I posted my first review of Euro Bakery 7 years ago! Since then, there are new owners and new bakery items. With the cost of ingredients rising, their prices rose as well. I ordered a chocolate decadence cake and it was $50, but seemed smaller than what it used to be. It was a two-layer cake, but I could've sworn it used to be 3 layers back in the day. The cake was a big hit this weekend though! I didn't have a chance to try their food this time around, but there are still a lot of items from the original owners that I saw on the menu.

    Lemony Chicken & Orzo Soup

We ordered the Lemony Chicken & Orzo Soup which I have had many times from Greek restaurants and in Greece. This one has little to no lemon and limited amount of Orzo. It was bland with a lot of herbs with tough chicken. I added fresh lemon to try and add more of the flavor at home.

Found this place by doing a search on Yelp because I didn't know the area. It had a 4.5 rating, so I went with it, even though it's a 15-minute drive from my hotel. The atmosphere is friendly in an odd setup, but friendly service is way more important! The food would determine everything. The Chicken Panini was excellent! When I was done eating, I was ready for more. The fries were also very good. There were only 15 fries (I counted), but one of them was really big, so let's go with 15.5. I also don't mind the 15.5 fries because the prices here are excellent. Highly recommended!

    Grilled chicken panini pita
    Alice L.

I have to say that their food is good (at least from the pita I tried), but the service is really lacking. It's like a small mom & pop shop with 1 person working the front as well as serving, and 2 people in the back cooking. It would be so beneficial if they could have 1 additional person because it took us a long time to get our drink order in, and then to order actual food. The man in front was caught up ringing up other to-go orders and that's why he couldn't really tend to anyone else at the tables. I got the grilled chicken panini pita which was cooked well and the meat had great flavor. It came with a couple pita chips and tzaziki sauce. It's a bit pricey for what it is. $10 for the pita and 2 pieces of chips where as most places give you some fries or a small salad in addition. I'm not sure if I'll be coming back even though the food was a solid 4.5 stars.

I'm supposed to be calorie counting but I couldn't resist lol. I wanted something sweet and as I'm driving down Louetta what do I see?...Euro Bakery :-) I ordered a slice of German Chocolate Cake, almond cookie and another pastry. Sooooo delicious! Will be back on my cheat day! :-)

Low-key Mediterranean lunch spot offering a variety of plates from dolmades to Atlantic salmon. The price point is decent. Some plates are more expensive than others. I would be open to trying the grilled chicken pita panini.. after seeing the photos on Yelp. My lunch was good though. No complaints. Get the fries!

I have wanted to visit Euro Bakery since the original owners were there, but just never made it. We got to go thid weekend and desserts looked beautiful. We dined in and were surprized that lunch specials are offered everyday, all day, although not much price difference in regular menu. We each had a Gyro and it came with a little container of Tzatziki and Pita Chips, but the actual Gyro was sadly lacking the pizzazz of a gteat Gyro. We ordered a slice of the Greek Custard Dessert and they said they had one slice left. Well, we ordered it. I told the young owner's son that it had sat in syrup all day and was very soggy. I suggested they wait until serving or at least 15 minutes before adding syrup, because the Fillo was a soggy, chewy mess. As we were leaving, a new tray was put in the showcase. I was so disappointed because at $6, you expect at least a fairly decent dessert. I know there are new Pakistani owners and would love to see a good Pakistani restaurant, while keeping the lovely cakes they currently serve. Very nice staff and very attentive staff.

Absolutely amazing cake! My god. The tiramisu is so good. So moist and full of flavor. Literally the best cake ever! The icing is like whip cream or something. So good! If you enjoy homemade cakes made with love this is the spot. If you want to buy an amazing cake for your child, spouse, special occasion, etc this is your spot. I have also tried the German chocolate which was really good as well. I have to say the tiramisu is my favorite. I have yet to try their Greek food but that's next on my list. This is by far my favorite bakery in the champions area. Family owned and they are extremely nice people. They understand customer service and make you feel at home. Once again, I highly suggest coming here for you next special occasion. You will not be disappointed.

The Tiropita was really good, the phyllo dough was baked very well with the feta cheese complimenting the dough well. Very homey and family-oriented. My favorites are the gyro plate with salad and basmati rice. For anyone who loves hummus, I recommend branching out and trying the muhammara. Roasted red pepper, garlic, pomegranate molasses, walnuts...it's a hidden gem, I don't even know how those flavors work together. The halloumi cheese is good; it tastes just like a mozzarella stick without the breading, my go to low carb option. On the flip side the rice pudding was a miss for me. The rice was al dente and the pudding itself lacked flavor. The beef shawarma had decent seasoning but came out dry and chewy. What I appreciate about Zara's is the variety. There's a wide selection of dishes, so there's something for everyone, and the drink menu is just as extensive. They don't serve alcohol, but the mocktail section is worth a try. If you're into hookah, they offer that as well. My biggest gripe is consistency. When the food is good, it's really good but there are times it feels like it's been reheated, and that's disappointing. When I first found this place, it was always spot on. Lately, not as much. Cleanliness is another concern. My husband once spotted a roach by his side. One roach wouldn't normally bother me..it happens..but after reading several similar reviews, it makes me question the cleanliness. All in all, Zara's is a great low-key neighborhood spot but not everything on the menu is a winner. I never had a problem with the service, and when there was something wrong they're more than willing to accommodate you and rectify the situation.

During my visit, I was the only dine in customer and I'm thinking most customers may order to go or do catering as the atmosphere just isn't very homey at all. I reviewed the menu and was originally set on ordering some dish with beef tenderloin as they have a few, but I ended up selecting my go-to, a gyro. I didn't want fries, so I subbed for the lemon potatoes. The gyro was very large and filling, and tasty. The pieces of meat were just shaved and not crispy or anything like you may receive on some gyro at other places. The potatoes were homemade and basically 1/4 potatoes, sliced lengthwise. I was so full from the gyro that I only ate one of the potatoes but didn't think it was very lemony at all. Customer service was excellent the entire time and they will even come to your table and take your plate away as if they are full service, which they aren't . I also ordered a slice of coconut cream pie, or at least that's what they said it was. It had no cream in it and appeared to be a coconut custard pie not that different than the one I make at home. It was delicious as well.

The dessert I was most excited to try was the marzipan cookie because I've had a really good one at another Greek restaurant. This one is called a Kourambiedes (almond cookie), and unfortunately it was very disappointing. The texture was actually great, but the flavor was extremely off. It almost tasted like plastic. I'm not sure if the wrong ingredient was used or if there was too much baking soda or baking powder, but something definitely seemed off with it. I was also really excited to try the pistachio cake, but unfortunately it had very little pistachio flavor at all, which was a letdown. The baklava were dry, and the rest of the cookies in the box were also very dry and didn't stand out, especially considering how much we spent. I really do enjoy Niko Niko and their food, but based on this experience, I probably wouldn't spend that much on their desserts again.
