I inquired about a car they had in their lot. They said it was available so I requested a time to come in and test drive. I was told his "boss" doesn't allow test drives without having financing in place. I told him I was absolutely not putting financing in place until I decided if I wanted it (no need to make my credit score take a hit, besides every other reputable dealer I've ever been to is more than happy to let you take a quick spin before moving forward). I cannot attest to their quality of cars (although they are overpriced, and they wont budge) or buying from them but I will say their process is a huge red flag!. It seems they want to lock you in to the point of almost buying before you're able to do anything besides look at it. (And if you do financing, guess what, your credit score just took a hit which may change your loan percentage). And then, judging by some other reviewers and the responses recieved, blaming the buyer for expecting anything other than a vehicle that can at least drive off the lot. About a month ago I had bought my first car from European Autohaus so far I have nothing but good things to say Jason was a salesman and he was super cool definitely an outgoing worker with good attitude. The only problem I had was I feel like the tires were a little worn out on the car that I had bought but at the end of the day, it's a used car dealership and the price had obviously been adjusted to the state of the tires. Otherwise, so far, my car runs great and I am happy I chose them! read more

I was considering a used vehicle from this place in October '22. I pointed out that the back brake rotors and pads we're grinding and well worn. Also, the tires were near the wear bar and only had a few months/miles left in them. The under carriage had rust that was painted over, but otherwise 'looked' really nice on their website photos. The sales person and his side-busting associate insisted that their mechanics had inspected and cleared the vehicle for sale and that nothing was wrong with it. I explained to them that for the asking price, a buyer shouldn't have to replace tires or pay for brakes soon after purchasing the vehicle. They we're pretty assertive and condescending in their argument as if I was too dumb and didn't know what suits me. I told them we'd have to agree to disagree and I walked out. In this vehicle seller's market, used car dealerships like this do and spend the bare minimum to prep vehicles for sale, to milk the maximum profit. They can sell their junk to less savvy customers, but not this guy. read more

PLEASE READ. Do not spend your hard earned money here. I bought my "dream car" from Jason that was represented as a single owner, original condition, low mileage, premium condition classic car. European Autohaus used a Carfax attached to their AutoTrader account to display this information. They are REALLY good at being deceptive. When I asked if the car was the original paint because it look like there was overspray...I was told "yes, that's the original color". Hindsight, right!? I asked all the questions, had several phone calls and days long text conversion, I had him do a video "test drive" for me and believed I was dealing with an honest business (and didn't check yelp fyi...shame on me). I was consistently reassured about the condition of the car. Upon receipt of the car, it was CLEARLY not the premium condition used car I thought I bought. Severe rust corrosion on the wheels and underbody, the entire car had been refurbed. Dirty broken parts and missing parts next to brand new replaced parts. I quickly took it to a reputable European car specialist for inspection...they refused to take my money and said "Miss, we are so sorry, in good conscience we can't take your money...we recommend you sell the car as soon as you can and NOT drive it."....no joke, you can't make this up. Wait, it gets better. I started digging on the internet and found another online report...that showed me that European AutoHaus had bought the car at Auction 3 months prior and the car was rated a "2 / Below Average". It noted damage on almost every exterior panel of the car, broken mirror, broken windshield, wheel corrosion, interior damage, and engine light warning on! When I reached out to Jason after discovering the above, I was told I had unreasonable expectations of what condition a car should be coming from a state that snows. With no ownership or taking responsibility for my findings or offer to try to make it right or the misrepresentation verbally and by use of the clean Carfax report. (They have a sister company or partnership in town that does the refurb work, there was a sticker in the car but I didn't keep it) After discovering all that I did, I tried finding legal recourse over the course of several months. My states DMV, Michigan DMV, my states Small Claims Court, Michigan Small Claims Court, spoke a lawyer and considered Civil Court, Better Business Bureau, and even filed a report with the Federal Trade Commission! After all this...the bottom line I was told my the Investigator assigned to my case by Michigan DMV...that Michigan is one of the worst states in the country when it comes to Consumer Protection with regards to Used Car Dealers. In the end, besides losing countless hours of research I lost over $7500 after trying to sell it for months and I didn't get to have my "dream car. SAVE your money, save yourself heartache...just go somewhere else and my hope is that this review will save you from what I went through. read more

BEWARE BUYERS! They sell Lemons at a very high prices. (About 3k to 5k Over KBB value) they just give them a little hand to make them look good but they are good hiding the real problems. I lost a lot of money (over 12 thousand dollars). I made a big mistake for not doing a research before to stop there. i bought a suv a few weeks ago and i just drove it less than 200 miles in two days when engine broke down, and i had to spend over 5k for repairs. It Has been two months since the incident and the truck is still at the mechanic shop waiting for the other engine to replace it. Stay away from this place if you don't want to get ripped off. I called on a Wednesday and spoke to Terry to confirm that a 2010 Mercury Mountaineer is available. Terry confirmed that this vehicle is available and advised that he has the day off Thursday and that I should come to purchase the vehicle on Friday. On Friday Morning I contacted Terry to advise that I was on my way. Terry know I was traveling over 200 miles to purchase this vehicle. Terry waited until I was 25 miles from European Autohaus to call and advise that he just sold this vehicle to someone else. This experience cost me an entire day of my time plus other expenses. This is an excellent example of a dealership that holds customer experience as a low priority. read more

We have purchased 3 cars from them over the years and had a good experience. They were all later models with low mileage in near mint condition. Like anything you buy you need to do your own research and they offer the Carfax right on there website. The Q7 we got was covered under the emission warrantee 4 years 48k miles. When I asked what it covered they provided me a copy of the warranty so I could see what was covered. They don't like to haggle on price but if you know what your looking for they have some excellent vehicles in great condition. read more

My son and I bought a Mini copper 2 years ago from Haus dealership. This year, the engine started to have problems, we took it to a different dealership to fix it and we're told that the car didn't have the original engine, that it was replace with a bad engine. I called the manager, Justin, he told me that they inspected the car before they sold it but, the Mini copper engine is supposed to last 2 year (of course, l didn't believe him) this is why the engine broke. read more

My wife called them to inquire about an Audi Q7 they had listed for sale. She then asked a few questions about the carfax. He said he knew nothing more about it. When she asked what time they were open till this evening the gentleman told her 6 PM. When she asked if we could go look at it he said you had better hurry up. My wife and I left to look at the vehicle. I called to let him know we were on our way. I told him that my GPS said we would be there at 5:15. He said they close at 5:30 sharp. He told me I would be wasting my time driving up there as he would only allow me 10 minutes to look over the car and test drive it. I told him we were very interested in this vehicle and asked if they could stay open a little later as he had told my wife they were open until 6pm. He rudely refused. After reading other yelp reviews I believe he did not want us looking at the vehicle because we had already looked into the Carfax. It appears this is one very shady dealership. I was in the market for a used Honda Odyssey. I purchased a 2011 Honda odyssey from here by The salesman JT Visser. The first thing I noticed was that the brake pads are spray-painted to look new. The vehicle drove OK until I got home and put my kids in the back and realized the rear shocks were completely shot. Take it to a certified Honda dealership and they confirmed it. So $500 later I received a car and a condition than I expected it to be in. do not buy used cars from this dealership. Honest enough to be legally protected (I contacted an attorney who has "seen Autohaus on his desk multiple times in the past six months"), but sell you buy-back cars that are un-sellable once they leave the lot as Carfax comes back as Lemon/buyback in big bold red letters--i.e. untouchable from most dealers' standpoint. DO NOT SPEND YOUR MONEY HERE!!!My wife and I purchased a vehicle for $21,000 on Dec. 31 of 2022. Within 7 days of driving off the lot, the vehicle had an "Engine Failure/Reduced Power" light come on. My mechanic was able to show me that the engine failure light was triggered 28 miles after I took possession of the vehicle. I emailed the dealership and was told that I purchased the vehi​cle "as is" and did not purchase their optional warranty which was almost $500/month. I bit the bullet and had $1,800 in repairs done. 3 days later the engine light re-appeared and that cost me another $1,200. The repair place that I'm using said that whoever did the repairs to this vehicle "had no business" in the auto mechanic industry. I have owned the vehicle for 27 days now and the Engine Failure light has been on 3 separate times and cost me $4,500. These people were so rude to us. Many of their cars are listed for $2000 over book value and the owner's response to questions and reviews is to throw out insults implying that you are asking to buy their car at an unreasonably low price. Asking them to sell around book value is not unreasonable. Beware!!! The salesman actually admitted that the car was priced over book value because people are going to pay it and the banks will finance 150% of the book value. There is no reason to finance that much on a used car, if you get into an accident your insurance probably will not cover the additional expense. Make sure you do your research before buying a car from this place!!! read more

I recently bought a used VW from European Autohaus and was very happy with my shopping experience. My sales representative, Jason, was very professional, friendly, and "laid-back" (no pressure). The car was very clean inside and out, and looked exactly as it had on the website (you would be surprised how often this wasn't the case at other dealerships). And bonus, they did all the paperwork right there, which saved me an afternoon at the Secretary of State. I would gladly do business with them again and highly recommend them to anyone. read more

We used this dealership for my sister to buy a low mileage used suv 83k miles, and during the purchase in conversations I asked if it had a 30 day warranty and I was reassured not only me but my sister and my mother who were all present don't worry she's covered. Then they would say it has a 4 year 48k mile warranty; = mind you that warranty is only on emissions and has to do with why it was bought back by Volkswagen. They don't go into great clarification of that but the term don't worry she's covered every time I asked about the 30 days doesn't mean much. Also upon finalization of purchase a crack appeared on the windshield between her test drive and actually the day of purchase2 days later. They had a repair done that did not work, and a glare came in the windshield from the crack and they had to replace the windshield, but the new windshield is very thin very noisy and cracked 3 days after install. Approximately at that time she had multiple warning lights come on - when she contacted Bob Bob talked and explained and had her do this that and the other with pushing buttons and then over explained the multiple things it could be and that they do sell an extended warranty. But didn't really tried to offer "Taking a look to make sure exactly what the problems are" until I contacted them. And I Explained the importance of her safety and that it's been 15 days, that taking a look at it before even considering anything or talking about the warnings and getting her so confused and worried was unprofessional. The sales staff that put the whole financial group together lost our trust by colluding the factory warranty that's ONLY for emissions during the Volkswagen emissions scandal that's the only thing under the factory warranty and they do not explain that well and they do not like being called out on that. AT THIS POINT Bob called my sister finally and said he can't talk with me the Brother because I'm not the one that purchased it. The problem is I'm the 1 that helped her find it and the whole thing of it being a safe vehicle and how theres a Factory Warranty and was reassured that is why I told her it was a safe purchase. BUT when they're not willing to stand behind the safety of a vehicle and put the priority of safety OF Children and occupants before all 15 days after it was purchased and try to sell a extended warranty to cover the repairs and then blow so much smoke up my sisters tailpipe about this that or the other and get us to the point where we don't even want see these people or even trust them to even look at it. THAT is our experience, the loss of trust. How can you trust a dealership if there more concerned about bringing up a extended warranty sale before trying to properly diagnose the ABS warnings, AND the headlight warnings First. These are a vital safety function for every car. The Dealership has lost any TRUST.!!!! AND BUYERS BEWARE. IF they say Factory Warranty, it's about the emissions only. If they say DON'T WORRY SHE'S COVERED, it means thanks for your money. It's a disappointment, and makes me sick to my stomach that Bob got my sister so uncomfortable between the texts and messages and loss of trust. That's why the negative feedback. I shouldn't have needed to call them out on there miss information and misleading tactics to complete a sale. Besides disregarding my Sister and her Children's safety as a priority over selling an extended Warranty is JUST DISGUSTING AND UN-HUMAN... I'm in the beginning stages of looking for a new used car, and I came across European Autohaus the other day. Found a car that fit my description for a car I'd consider buying, and inquired online about it. Received an email saying I could call them anytime with questions, so I did. The sales rep on the call, unfortunately, wasn't helpful at all. He pushed me away from coming in and trying to drive a car or two to see what I'd like because "we don't want to waste gas in the cars or have to wash them if people are just looking to test drive a car and not buy one". Maybe I got the guy on a Monday and he wasn't in the mood to help someone who is further up the buying process than he would like, but in the world we live in today, buying is about relationship building and building trust. Thanks, Autohaus, for showing me how not to interact with a potential buyer. Sorry I didn't want to buy a car sight unseen, but maybe Gezon or Betten will offer some better guidance and not worry as much about 'wasting gas' or 'having to wash a car'. read more

If you choose to shop here, make certain you do your own independent VIN search on any vehicle you might purchase.. They sold us an Audi, lied to our faces about no accident history, then when the car had multiple problems and turns out had been in a major front end collision, they stated prior accident history meant nothing to them... except that now we're stuck with a piece of junk Audi that isn't worth nearly what we expected because of accident history that was never disclosed and now needs new front pulleys, water pump, engine mounts, power steering, and it burns oil like a fuel furnace.... buyer... be warned... check the title yourself... do a full search.... read more

I purchased a 2014 VW jetta from this dealership. The car was a manufacture buyback vehicle. What they neglected to inform me at the time of purchase was when you purchase one of these vehicles, the title that comes with it is "branded". A branded title can never be cleared of the branded mark, the Carfax views it as a lemon, and therefore if you ever try to resell the vehicle later on, you will not get the full retail value for the car. This is the worst place to buy a vehicle! I purchased a used Audi from them in holland and they failed to report to me that it has 13 major structural damage reports on it. They told me the title was clean. The car has never driven straight since I've owned it. They told me it needed an alignment but even that didn't fix it. Please don't buy from here. Beware. This dealership sells a large quantity of factory buyback vehicles (lemons). Seems enticing when the vehicle comes with a one year 12,000 mile factory warranty which is nice but as soon as the warranty expires the car is very difficult to sell in the private market and worthless as a trade-in. I bought a car for $12,000 last year and was offered 500$ trade in this year. Just know what your getting in to with a factory buy back. If you don't plan to drive the car forever, don't get a factory buy back. read more

Oh my gosh. This was my first time buying a car from a dealer and having to finance it. I had been to Best Buy Used Cars and a few other places during this whole process. Let me tell you, buying a car is excruciating! I hate having to look up all of the cars that I might have interest in and calling to see if they still have it. I sometimes just went for a drive to see if I saw something I liked. Then I saw a 2006 Honda Civic @ European Autohaus. I called to see if they still had it (they did, since they just got it in). Lupe e-mailed to ask me if I wanted to come in on a Wednesday, and I decided to come in on Saturday. He and Mike were so nice. They weren't pushy salesmen, like all of the other dealerships have. Lupe made suggestions based on the cars I had previously shown interest in. I asked which one he would buy and, I believe, he gave me an honest answer. Not to mention the price! Bought a beautiful A4 from this dealership, sight unseen, from out of state. I had never heard of a manufacturer buyback before finding my car online here. I was a little wary and had lots of questions. I kept waiting to sense that they were being evasive or hiding something, but that never happened. They answered every question and provided every document I asked for. I appreciated the opinion of Lars, who had a one-star Yelp review, because it led me to ask about how the car would be titled. Bottom line is that this WILL show up on your title in some states (like WI), but even if it didn't, it would be on the Car Fax report. But the trade-off is the better pricing. Plus my car has the full manufacturer's warranty, so I felt I was taking almost no risk concerning the problem (which was fixed, of course) that led to the buyback. If your goal is to get a great deal and turn around and sell your car as if it did not have the "manufacture buyback" status, this isn't your thing. But if the goal is to get a nice car that you will drive for years, this is definitely worth looking into. They were super-helpful with shipping as well. The reason for no 5th star is that the original sticker that was shared with me showed all-weather floor mats, but when I got the car it didn't have them (it had the standard mats). I don't blame Autohaus because I think the all-weather mats were removed at some point before they ever purchased the car, but it was disappointing. read more
