They're literally never open. I come on random weekdays well past the time they open and they're closed. She closes on every single holiday and random weekdays without telling PAYING customers. I had to start going to a new place because she's never open. Owner is also MAGA and says racist things every time I'm in there. I will never come back, especially being the fourth time in ONE MONTH that she's closed at a random time and day when the store says open online and on the door. I have mixed feelings. Yes, the prices are cheap. But you pay for them in random ways. For starters, the place is straight outta 1993. They JUST got computers. The owner (who is usually working there) is super opinionated and chatty, not great when I'm in a hurry. 1. I don't care about your thoughts on the last customer. 2. I would highly recommend this tanning salon. The prices are extremely reasonable, and the beds are the best I've experienced. Actually, compared to ANY other tanning salon I've been to, the beds at European Tan are the only ones that have given me color every single time, regardless of which bed I choose. At the last salon I went to, it would take me a week of every other day tanning, to equal the color I get from 1 session here. They offer several tanning bed options, from 20 minute beds, 15 minute, 12 minute, and a Stand Up super bed that is 8 minutes (I think). They are always well maintained, and the owner really puts her heart and soul into her business. At some places I've been to, the bulbs would either be super old and not work well, or there would literally be bulbs that were out for days or even weeks before getting replaced. I've never seen that happen at European Tan, and I've been a customer there for over 5 years. Everyone that works there is very nice, and very helpful. They carry a huge variety of tanning lotions, and they are priced reasonably. I've checked prices on Ebay and Amazon, and alot of times their prices are higher than here. Also, the staff is NOT PUSHY. Huge for me. I hate feeling pressured to buy something! As a bonus, the owner also has a huge collection of purses and bags, as well as jewelry for sale. Very cool, unique inventory, again at a good price. I would recommend making an appointment.......it can be pretty busy at certain times of the day, so I always call ahead to be sure the bed I want is available. Mary, the owner, has the best prices around. The beds are amazing and LA Tan rips you off with their "we offer 1-10 level beds". Bullshit. Go to European Tan and you'll feel so welcomed and you'll never go anywhere else. There is a huge selection of lotions readily available as well as bronzer a, whichever you prefer. I only fake bake prior to vacations- Don't judge! I found this place near my house and the location is pretty convenient for me because I tend to drive by to and from work. The people at the front desk are super friendly and they don't annoy me with the hard upsell on lotions and what not. I'm not 100% the beds are the best I have ever had but so far so good. HIGHLY recommend using this location to tan. The Most Friendly staff in any salon I have ever been in and knowledgeable staff too. Rates are very good. It is CLEAN. They really make sure each bed is sanitized. I've added their text blast and receive great sales when they run them. So far, I always get what is on special. They have a very nice selection of lotions and sample packs too. They also carry jewelry, nice display of cool purses and they also have Natural Soap, (which I LOVE). I can make an appointment or just drop in to tan, no issues either way. I really appreciate their friendly service. My favorite time to go is in the winter months when I can't get the sunlight I crave. My favorite place to tan no matter when I choose to go. The have my business! Give them a whirl. Super friendly staff. They are the best. I hadn't been tanning in years and had a lot of questions. Beds are probably considered old school, but they work just fine for me. Clean. I love the vanity station. Lots of stickers to choose from. Wipes to remove your makeup. Never had an issue making an appointment. They know what beds I have or haven't been in before. No matter how busy they are, they take time to give instructions on operating new beds. Prices are great. read more

As an avid tanner, I have tried many places in the Oak Lawn area, and European Tan is by far the best. For several years, I went to another tanning salon nearby on 111th Street, but I refuse to go back. Their level of service, quality of staff, and beds that are ALWAYS either broken or missing several bulbs have opened my eyes. I was allured by their "Buy one get one free" packages. Kept sucking me in! Then I discovered European Tan. After 1 session, I was very tan. It shocked me actually, that I was throwing money away at the other place! European Tan is VERY clean. The staff is friendly and CARE about the client's experience. The owner or her son are always there. To me, that is important! There are no short cuts taken with cleaning the beds. That's HUGE! I picked up a fungal infection on my back from the other place. I am extremely satisfied with my tanning results and with the excellent service. This is definitely my top choice in the area. I initially came to European Tan because of the Yelp reviews. All the positives were true- staff is so nice, place is nothing fancy but it truly takes me back to the 80's when I walk in. They're prices are ridiculously cheap! So reasonable. They have several options but I just do the lay down bed. Everything is clean. They have lots of bronzer and lotion options too.
