My first visit was with Julia and she was amazing, super informative, made me feel completely comfortable, and worked really quickly. She even checked if I needed breaks, and chatting with her made the whole wax go by so fast. For my first visit I got a Brazilian and underarms and I was very happy with my experience. I'll be doing this monthly and adding full legs to my appointments. The receptionists are great too, always ready to answer questions about packages or anything else, and the center is very clean. I have been going to this European Wax Center in Bayside for six years. The location is clean and tidy. Estheticians follow sanitary standards. Waxing can be a stressful situation because of anticipated pain and just feeling vulnerable because of hair growth. I enjoy visiting European Wax Center for the one technician, Shruva. She is consistent and does her job well. She always asks if the temperature is okay before she adds more wax. Shruva waxes so efficiently and painlessly, it makes it so much more effective. I went in once and Shruva was unavailable. A technician which I haven't met before took me in. She seemed very nice, a bit talkative, but it was okay because it kept mi mind off of the current situation. UNTIL, she, on her own, WITHOUT MY KNOWLEDGE, puts was on my under lip area and said, "this is a present from me to you!" And yanks the wax off! I DID NOT ASK HER. I WAS QUITE UPSET. Then she says, "do you want me to glue it back on?" I told her, "how are you going to do that now. It's gone! I need Ed touched that area, now the hair will really grow!" She assured me that it will not. I emailed manager twice, message error cannot be sent. I asked the girl at front to let the manager call me-she did not. Stephanie was amazing! I always go to the fresh meadows location but had i know the employees here are even sweeter i may not go back! Instantly when i had walked in i was greeted and the receptionist was training the new girl, who also was kind to me. My appointment was timely and I truly loved how gentle Stephanie was with my Brazilian. Its always nerve-wracking switching to a new girl! I have to update this review after a disappointing few months. Eboni was my favorite and she was gone after only a couple of visits. Every person that I used after that, while they were all very nice, I was very disappointed with my brows. Normal price to get eyebrows done is between $7 and $10. This place started out at $22 a session but now they raised their prices. I would absolutely pay that - if I were blown away and absolutely loved what they do. But I've had to ask them to fix them almost every time I was there. With everything so expensive nowadays, I can no longer pay such exorbitant prices for less than mediocre eyebrows. Sorry EWC, I was a good customer but you definitely need to step up your brow game. read more

The only waxer you should go to: Ebony. I've been coming to this EWC for the past year for Brazilian waxes and each time have always had someone different (because I make last minute appointments so I usually just choose whoever is available). But when I went this most recent appointment I got Ebony and she was incredible! SO sweet and the wax was actually so painless I didn't even realize it was over. I have been going to this location in Bayside for couple of years . The place is very clean and bright . I got someone in the beginning but then tried Jessica and she's great . She is very friendly and quick . I usually don't feel much pain since she does it so quick and nicely . Parking used to be an issue near the area but now they offer free valet parking which save people's life ! They send you text messages to remind your appointment and it is also easy to reschedule or confirm over the text . read more

Hello - I don't frequently wax all the time. My daughter recently told me ,"mom treat yourself every now and then" of course she's always right. I very rarely treat myself. She told me the European Wax Center is the best! So I made an appointment. The young lady that waxed me was Stephanie . Lovely , friendly, just spectacular!!! I am always on time for my appointments. The grace period is 9 minutes. The one time I walked in at the 9 min mark they wanted me to wait 30 mins for a quick Brazilian wax. I was so pleased when I found out that European Wax Center opened in Bay Terrace. I am always punctual and never miss an appointment without calling to cancel. Today I was 10 min late and they would not accomodate me. I do not have a lot of work done and it would have meant maybe staying 10 min later. I have had to wait when other clients are late. I bought a pass for 800.00 and I would have expected better service. Although the girls were polite they would not budge, not great for repeat business. I will look for another center nearby. But after reading tons of reviews and yelping tons of locations I stumbled upon the bayside location, and I'm very glad I did. I booked a Brazilian with Stephanie after reading the reviews and I was very happy I did. She was kind, funny, polite and also a great salesperson lol. Started at EWC when I got pregnant and extra sensitive, and I never went back to old fashion waxing. I go to multiple locations because usually it's a short wait and with an infant it's hard to determine when my schedule will free up. I love coming here, the technicians do a great job with Brazilians/bikinis. Based on others' reviews I have used Thamar in the past but she's no longer there :( and Kathryn who is great! Waxing isn't for the faint of heart but not the worst thing you'll ever go through in life. Super fast, I'm usually in and out in 15 min or less. Tbh I really like the when the wax hits the skin haha. Then they just use the wax itself to peel it off- no extra paper strips or anything. It does get very busy in the area so extra time allotted for parking is necessary. The girls in the front are also really good at selling packages. Prices have gone up so packages are good value, even if you go here and there 3x a year like I do because they don't expire. They do installment payments so it's more palatable than one huge lump sum of $500+. read more

This location does a great job of notifying you when your appointment is coming up. Way better from the past salon I have been to. No double dipping. All sanitized. Dani was quick to comprehend how I want my eyebrows shaped. She's knowledgeable of what she's doing. The only negative in the process was I got a bit burnt close to my temples due to the hard wax. Oh and I was surprised it was a complimentary service! Paid nothing. Im so glad that im the first to write a review about this new location! When you first walk in, you get the aroma of the melting wax. Which isnt unpleasant at all. Its soothing, almost a lemony scent. The front desk area is clean, open and inviting. Being a first time client, i received a free eyebrow waxing from Daniela. The service took 30 minutes. Which im glad it did. It wasnt rushed, she took her time cleaning up and shaping out my brows. Rather then the regular nail salon up the block thats one, two, three and your done with wonky brows and burning pain The wax is almost painless. She frequently allowed me to check to make sure i was content with the shape and everything i felt really comfortable. They even offer to fill in your brows when theyre done which is a great plus, being that i hadnt today. Overall great experience and client service. read more

I have been getting waxed at the EWC for over 10 years and by far have never had such an uncomfortable experience. I go to get waxed and select any waxer available because i work a lot so I do not have much free time. I believe the girls name was Kim, asked to take before and after photos of a Brazilian. I said absolutely not, it was awkward ever since. Then she burned me which has only happened one or two times in the 10 years and i was in so much pain for the next 2 days. Now I have so many ingrown hairs which has never happened before. I called the center to tell them what happened (in tears) and the receptionist was so nice and caring and advise the manager would call me in a few days. It has been a week and a half and I never heard from anyone. I hate leaving bad reviews and if they called me back I would not have left one honestly but if can save someone an uncomfortable trip, then thats all that matters. I will not be returning to this center even though it is 2 blocks away from my home. Id rather drive somewhere to a center that actually cares about my wellbeing. - also, its been 4 days since I received the automated reply from EWC at the bottom of this email and I have still not received any type of call or message regarding the issue read more
