I recently moved from California to New York and was worried on where will I find someone to thread my eyebrows and face. Thank goodness I found this salon. They did such an amazing job on my eyebrows and full face threading that I've continued to come back. This being my 4th time. They are extremely clean and professional. I went to this place because of the good reviews but the lady just rushed through everything, took off way too much without asking, and just did not care about the shape of my eyebrows. This was my second time there. I had a young lady the first time who was phenomenal; took her time and gentle. Went there today saw a woman ritu, who cut me while threading my eyebrows. I'm very meticulous when it comes my eyebrows. They are thick but not full therefore pulling one hair completely destroys the shape of the eyebrow. I've never seen them so uneven in my whole life. Im beyond furious and will definitely not be returning. She waxed the rest of my face aggressively and I have cuts on my chin from the thread she used afterwards. when I told her she insisted I have sensitive skin? How does that make sense. I've been coming here for a few months. I have been burned by the younger female employee. I stopped going to her. I thought the owner wouldn't do this. But, here I am. I got burned and my skin is so irritated. I feel really sad and embarrassed to have to walk around like this now. I won't be coming back and neither will my family or friends. I even tried telling her in the middle of waxing/threading that I felt burned. She said I had no redness. When I got up to check, I could see some irritation. Absolutely amazing experience with Ritu. She did an amazing job with eyebrow and waxing.

Got a full body wax and Didi (the owner) made me feel so comfortable. It was my first time getting a wax so I was super nervous but Didi was so sweet and made the experience completely okay. She used warm wax and took her time, making sure she got every hair. Then asked me to double check so I could make sure I was happy with the service. She then threaded my eyebrows and sculpted them beautifully! Highly recommend this salon for any of their services, they literally do it all! read more

Very , very satisfied and happy with the shape of my brows!! I am usually very protective over my eye brows. I often commuted to Astoria , Queens to get my brows done. The commute has been difficult at the times I was available to go (5-7pm) due to rush hour traffic and parking. I decided to try A1 Arch threading. The professional threader not only cleaned up my eyebrows and give them a nice clean shape... but she tinted my eye brows, too. What a difference it made to my face! I was scared to tint my eye brows for fear it would look like someone took a marker and colored the brow in. Not at all! The professional threader assured me that it would look natural. I have been to a few threading places and just wasnt getting the results i wanted, many of them in fact messed up the shape of my brows. I had the pleasure of meeting Ritu. She was very welcoming. I explained to her what shape i wanted to go back to and showed her pictures and she assured me with time she can get my shape back to that. On just my first time with her i see the shape forming to what i want. She was very gentle i didn't sneeze or flinch once which was very shocking to me. The price is amazing ($6), the have the rewards card where they sign it and after a certain amount of visits you get one free, she also gave me coupons for their other services. The day I met Ritu - the owner manager of this business I was feeling kinda of down. I was getting through the day running errands and prepping for the week ahead. I walked in to get a henna design and I could see the smile in her eyes. As women we often forget about ourselves because we are too busy caring for everyone else. Running households , being mothers , wives and in addition to our jobs. I loved my henna tattoo and the compliments at work were endless. Sometimes the smallest self improvement causes us to feel beautiful . She accomplished that for me. I returned again and was welcomed with open arms and again I could see the smile in her eyes. I have been coming to this place since it opened, and I have never been let down. Ritu is the sweetest person ever! The first time I came here actually, I had gotten caught in a downpour as I was walking to it from my house. I was so embarrassed to walk in all drenched, but Ritu immediately grabbed me towels and helped me to dry off. She's considerate, hardworking, clean, and offers extremely affordable pricing! As for waxing, she's so gentle, never double-dips the stick, and triple checks that she got every hair. She really makes you feel comfortable and welcome every single time. I gave stars for the overall vibe of A1 which is bright with nice decor. I think the place is newish so everything looks clean and new. The prices are also very reasonable. My problem was with the brazilian wax itself and really it boiled down to 2 things - 1) the way the wax was done, mostly towards the end and 2) the amount of hair left over. While the wax was being done I noticed she kept using the same large strip over and over. Now I've had A LOT of waxes done in my life so I know the reusing the strips is done and I'm ok with it but at a certain point if it's just too much wax and hair on the strip you have to throw it out and use a new one. It just felt like it wasn't being effective after a while. But I trusted her process and let it be. She started waxing from the front of me obviously and then worked her way back to the buttocks, as they all do. But then she took that same very overly used strip and went BACK to waxing the front of me and right in the center of me. I'm sorry but NO. That is just NOT hygienic at all. The back should be the last place she waxed and if she needed to come back to the front to catch any stragglers she should've used a different strip. That leads me to point 2 which is that when she was done and walked out of the room, I looked at her work and it wasn't thorough at all. I had very obvious patches of hair still there. Again, I've had many waxes so I know that sometimes small hairs can't be caught and I'm ok with that. I wasn't getting a wax that day for the beach or anything, just some maintenance so I wasn't looking for perfection. But what she left over could've easily been waxed off. It felt sloppy or unfinished. I left very unsatisfied and I know that I won't be going back again. read more
