I used to get my eyebrows threaded in Jackson heights but was forced to come here after moving to bayside area. I never liked their job as I ask for just a clean up and not too thin but they always thread it too thinly. But like I said I don't have much choices here in bayside. I moved to garden city and have not yet to find a new threading place. Today I was around the neighborhood and decided to get my eyebrows threaded in a whim. I don't have enough cash on me and I asked the lady if they take Venmo or quick pay. They told me yes they take Apple Pay so I decided to sit in the chair and get my eyebrows threaded. Of course, they threaded my eyebrows too thin again! Thankfully my eyebrows grow out fast and I get them threaded every few months just to keep them in shape. I walked to front counter and they wanted to charge me $10 on my credit card. They have a $10 minimum to charge card (mind you, it cost $7 thread eyebrows). But maam, I asked you if you take Venmo. It's from my bank account, not credit card. The lady gave me the BIGGEST ATTITUDE. I was explaining to her it's just a miscommunication and I'm not gonna argue with her over a few dollars but her attitude is plain nasty. I have a love hate relationship with this business. There seems to be only one threader who can get it right and do it gently. Everyone else's handiwork ends up in scabs and irritation. However, the brows shaping is consistently good, so at least 3 stars will remain there. Decent price too. Do yourself a favor: after threading, opt for aloe gel, not lotion or oil, and you'll avoid an allergic reaction or breakout. Set your expectations accordingly. read more

It was because only one person working and the other girl didn't show up. But, once you're up, they will make your brows beautiful. You won't regret it. Walk in, take your temperature and sign in. You can run some errands before your name is up. They don't really have a calling system. When you walk in, you check your temperature and then afterwards you fill out your information in the book they have placed at the front counter. They offer massages, facials, waxing, and henna here. I never get skin irritation or any stray hairs when she works her magic. The other women vary in skill set. Is a to go to if you live near by. I love this place, I go there since I found them, I highly recommend the threading and chocolate waxing, however you have to be careful who is the one doing it. My favorite are Nisha and the one the look like owner or the boss. I tried with somebody else and I wasnt happy. It can get very crowded. Wooooo hoooo I popped my threading cherry today at Kamal after seeing all the amazing and positive reviews. What a convenient location right across from my old JHS (I.S. 25) and on the same block as my favorite store Dollar Tree. Very spacious and clean store front where they shared the space with a hair salon. All three threaders were busy assisting the customers already in the chairs. Good to know that men actually do threading over a razor hehe. When its finally my turn, I told Appu that I just wanted to have a nice shape and not too short. Definitely it was a different kind of feeling from plucking eyebrows to waxing eyebrows. Threading is WAY BETTER and I am sold finally! I don't use makeup because I have sensitive skin. Have been searching for threading places and finally decided to try this high review one. My eyebrows can out unbalanced!!!!! I have asked the owner to at least make them balanced. When I'm still frustrating with my unbalance eyebrows and asking for her to help me out then she just moved to help another person. "Your eyebrows grow that way. This is the best I can do. if you don't like it go somewhere else and bring back the picture so I could do that according to the picture." I usually get my eyebrows threaded and side burns waxed from Nisha. A few days ago I decided to do a face wax with her and she ended up burning and peeling off the skin on my face and chin. Now half my face has a severe rash and burns. To make matters worse, she put an oil on my skin right away without telling me what kind of oil it was and told me to use it 2x everyday- I later found out that I am allergic to the main ingredient. Then, she blamed me and told me that I should have told her that this was my first time getting a face wax and charged me for it. By far the fastest and most painless Brazilian I have ever had in my life!!!!! I came as a walk in and was seen immediately. Nisha was very friendly and hygienic. They use a new wooden stick every time, never double dipped. The whole wax took about 5-7 mins tops. $25 for chocolate wax on Tuesday's and Wednesday's. I have been serviced by just about every lady here. I love their weekly deals despite already having great prices. Just got off the table from my first ever deep clean facial but it was not limited to face. (Yes, you will have to put a towel on.) Ritu was amazing and always sure I was comfortable. Not the facial I expected, only ever had 2 facials at another monthly charging place in the area. Today was now my 2nd time coming here. The first time I left and was very happy with my eyebrow results. I went this afternoon and explained I wanted my eyebrows to only be cleaned (keep the shape and I do not want them thin). For some reason while getting my eyebrows threaded it was very painful today. It all made sense so much of my eyebrow hair were taking away... they are super thin.. not what I wanted. I am very unsatisfied with the results. The lady asked me if they were good.. I responded they are "fine"... as I left to my car and cried. I am very unhappy and upset how much hair was removed when I explained many times what I wanted. It was also repeated back to me and the women showed she understood fully. I responded with "fine" because at this point what can she do.. she already removed all the hair. read more

I hate leaving this place 3 stars. They would probably qualify as the best place I've ever gone to for threading (and I've gotten threaded in California, North Carolina, and all over NYC) but their hygiene is simply not acceptable. They touch everyone's face directly, money, the cash register, their cell phones, the salon's phone, and literally everything else without washing or sanitizing their hands. I was honestly pretty nervous to try out somewhere new after some bad experiences in the past. My friend told me to go to a specific person named Nisha and I scrolled through the reviews to confirm - there was nothing but praise for Nisha! I asked for Nisha and had to wait a little bit. I told her I wanted a simple clean up, and she asked me if I preferred my brows straight, arched, or with a soft arch. Overall, it was a quick and unproblematic experience! It was cheap too - only $6! The one kink I'd point out is their waiting system. This salon only accepts walk-ins surprisingly. Even though it was a weekday afternoon, the salon filled up quickly. There is no organized system; everyone is just required to sit in the waiting area and the next available lady says "next!". It wouldn't be too bad if there were only a few people in the store, but that was not the case. This, unfortunately, led to some confusion with awkward glances because people couldn't remember who came first. read more

Always plan to wait at least half an hour to get your brows threaded and seems like every minute drags. I don't believe the employees here have any sense of time. I do think the parking lot is convenient, if you can find a spot and beware, it can be very tight. However, every time I get mine done, they stay looking neat for longer than usual and hairs don't grow out as fast. They do a good job, despite the time you might waste here. read more

Kamal always does a good job and I didn't even have to wait today! she takes precautions such as....wears a mask, and wipes the seat before and after a new customer. Just moved back to bayside and needed a new place to get a Brazilian wax. My best friend referred me to Kamal so I decided to give it a try. I've got my eyebrows threaded here a few times before and liked their work, so I decided to give it a shot with the Brazilian wax. I didn't make an appointment and I just walked in at around 1 PM on a Tuesday. On Tuesday and Wednesdays they have a special for Brazilian wax which is $20 for a regular Brazilian wax and $25 for a chocolate Brazilian wax.
