I was growing a beard and so was my mom. I called last minute and they were able to fit us both into the schedule for the day! I was super excited and headed there. Parking was a nightmare but it's located in a busy shopping center so that's to be expected. I checked in and was taken back to be waxed in no time. The entire place was very clean and the employees were nice. It took about 25 minutes for her to wax my entire face. The wax wasn't too hot and it wasn't painful. She was extremely gentle and was easy to talk to. Pricing was a little expensive and they didn't have a price list posted. There was a sign advertising free first wax. If you expect a warm and welcoming environment as a first time client I would not recommend this location. Ayannie ( I definitely spelled her name wrong) that was working the front desk was extremely rude and unwelcoming. It was my boyfriend's first time being waxed and when he was called back, he asked if I could be in the room with him. The lady performing the service said it was completely fine if I came back with him. As I started to walk back, Ayannie stops me and, in front of clients and other staff members, aggressively states "NO MAAM" to the woman taking my boyfriend back. The lady then replied she didn't have a problem with me coming back, Ayannie with a rude and loud tone again says "NO MAAM". It was extremely uncomfortable and unnecessary. I sat back down and asked why that was, the other woman working front desk kindly said due to policies we weren't supposed to have more than one person back there. As someone who works in a salon, I completely respect and understand policies. However, Ayannie was beyond rude and made the experience very uncomfortable for both of us. To top this "experience" off, about an hour after my boyfriend and I paid, he received a voicemail from Ayannie informing that an "add on" wasn't paid for, and he was forbidden to book with them again if it wasn't paid. Since when is that the clients fault? We drove all the way back and paid for this add on. She never apologized for the inconvenience and had a bad attitude all around. Extremely Unprofessional, Unconcerned, and Dismissive I received a full bikini waxing service on Monday, September 26th. The wax was extremely hot and I suffered burned on my lower abdomen and area covered by the full bikini wax. During the session, I informed the esthetician that I was concerned that the wax might have been too hot as that had been my experience four weeks prior. She informed me that the wax had to be a certain temperature to melt so that the service could be rendered. The hot wax was applied to each part of my body where my hair was to be removed. The esthetician applied most of the hot wax at the same time without ensuring that the wax was not too hot for my body. At one point, I "jumped" when she applied the hot wax to a particularly sensitive area. Later that evening, I noticed my burns. They were incredibly red and inflamed. Since being burned, I have had to proceed with extreme caution with respect bathing, dressing, and my personal care. The next day, Tuesday (September 25th), I arrived at the store at approximately 8:30 am and asked to speak with the manager. The front desk staff explained that the manager had not arrived yet but asked how she could help. The front desk staff took my complaint to forward to the manager, who she stated would arrive soon. I have followed up by phone four times since Tuesday to speak with the manager and but to avail. When I called last Thursday , I was told by the front desk staff that the manager was out of the today and would be back the next day. As of Oct. 5th, I still have not heard from the store manager. This experience has been extremely unsettling, hurtful, and painful, physically and emotionally. I have been injured and yet the store management does not accept responsibility or seem concerned about my injury. Not only was I hurt while receiving the service but have been treated dismissively, disrespectfully and unprofessionally when I seek to follow - up on the incident. I have been told on four separate times that the manager will be in touch with me yet that has not occurred. At this time, I am seeking a full review for the package that I purchased and not a partial refund. Please be aware that you will not receive professional service from this location when they are at fault. read more

This was first experience with a wax post-COVID and it did not disappoint! The friendly staff and overall cleanliness made me feel very comfortable. I received a call the day before to know that I needed a mask. When I arrived they had technology that allowed me to receive a text when my esthetician was ready and my wax room had been sanitized. There was no use of the waiting room except to check out. I even saw them turn away and refuse to serve someone who was not wearing a mask! These precautions plus a table with plenty of hand sanitizer, sanitized pen and the friendly staff made happy to be there and I highly recommend others make an appointment as well! read more

Honesty I really wanted to give them 4 stars because I arrived right at 4:09(appointment was at 4pm) but Cassie still gracefully saw me and took her time! That's a huge plus! I had a rough day beforehand and Cassie was very understanding. I must say that making her aware of my situation, she coached me through me everything. Told me when to breathe, take deep breaths, gave me encouragement. I loved my experience with her. Because of her I will continue to come back..... However, I'm not sure if I can come back to the one at Southpoint due to the customer service experience with Kailey!! It was terrible. I wasn't even being checked out by her. I was asked by the other rep(who was sweet) how much I wanted to give for a tip. Kailey began to interject and say "Remember the wax was originally $50". Which made me feel bad. I asked the rep that was working with me how much my service was altogether because there is a reason why I chose to get the service done with it being half off for my first time. I budgeted for the tip but then Cassie recommended their scrub so I paid for that. In addition I gave a 15% gratuity tip. I do plan to give her a higher tip next time. I hope my next experience is good and not contingent on the amount of a tip. Cassie deserves so much more tho. read more

So I have been coming to European Wax Center for awhile now (since August) and have enjoyed my experiences with them! I haven't tried waxing before coming here but was recommended to come by a friend and I'm glad I did! Every appointment I had was met with a kind and professional person. I usually see Paige unless it's an emergency (aka a last minute visit) and even during those times I've enjoyed my experience. They use hard wax which is much better than the strip wax I'm told and I agree as each visit has been easier and easier to manage (pain wise). I've been coming for under arms and bikini waxes and definitely recommend it to others however they are a bit pricey. I always go with their pack special and buy four services for the price of three although it's only applicable to the specific service you buy it for (under arms is definitely cheaper than bikinis for example). But if you're looking for a waxing place in the Durham/Southpoint area, I highly recommend them! It is a bit pricey but I think it's worth it! And I've never had an issue with their customer service but just wanted to share you cannot be more than 10 minutes late to your appointment or they cancel it. They're pretty serious about this, just an FYI! read more

I booked an appointment but needed to change the time, I called and the clerk said they were booked but as long as I was within 8 or 9 minutes of my appointment time it would be fine, I scrambled, left a meeting early to get there, got there exactly within the 8 or 9 minutes the clerk had said would be fine, then she opened the door and told me "your late, we will have to reschedule" even though I was there exactly within the time she said, I pointed out it was within the time she told me, but she refused to let me in and just said I had to reschedule. Not honoring your word is a good way to lose customers. read more

Went to this location since it is close to my work. I will never go here again. I have gotten these wax services many times before (at different EWC locations and other places) and it has never hurt this much. When I checked out I told them it hurt so much and having my nose waxed 3 times they didn't care at all. Everyone was unfriendly and didn't care. The lady was unfriendly and had to wax my nose 3 times and then the wax got stuck in my nose and very uncomfortable to get the wax out. I have never had my nose waxed more then once before and this time 3 times. I spend $125 to be in pain including the next day which has never happened and didn't. The waxer didn't get off all the hair either which I noticed when I got home which is so frustrating and noticeable. I rather be hairy then go here again. read more

With wax passes for full legs, Brazilian (plus cheeks), lower back and underarms, I need a wax specialist that can do it all...and Patty is the best!! I have been going to her for the past 2 years (going on 3) and I would not go to anyone else. Patty is my monthly miracle worker! No more ingrowns, no more tweezing after I get home from a wax because the aesthetician wasn't "thorough" enough... I am ready for my close up (or at least my cheeky bathing suit) after getting waxed by Patty! Another plus, the front desk staff at this location are wonderful! I really hate waxing, but sometimes you just have to trim the hedges, if you know what I mean. I've been going to EWC at Southpoint for over a year and have been really pleased with my overall experience. From eyebrows to Brazilian they do it all pretty quickly with as little hassle and pain as possible. Most of the time it's a flawless job, but when you ask for a little clean-up or adjustment they quickly try to address it with no attitude, just helpfulness and professionalism. The only drawback is every waxer pushes the products really hard. The products themselves are ok, but overpriced in my opinion. My favorite waxer is Jessica - she's great! read more

I got a bikini wax and it was the fastest and cleanest job I have seen in awhile! It was also rather painless. I had my very first bikini wax here and I'm still a loyal customer lol. In total I've been here about 4 or 5 times. The service is always wonderful and the facilities are always super clean. The receptionists are very sweet and the waxers are skilled at what they do. I love that you can purchase waxes at a discount when bundled together. I arrived at my appointment to find out my wax specialist was changed. I booked my appointment last month with Carissa, but was seen by Khyla today. I guess Carissa left in the last 4 weeks, but no one contacted me to inform me of the change. Even though this was my 3rd month getting waxed, my experience was less than ideal today.There were many times she struggled with gripping/peeling the wax, which caused a lot of pain. Then after she would pull it and blot the area, she used to much pressure, it hurt. When I got home I checked the area and found a lot of left over hair and wax residue, which made me really upset. I'll have to figure out a way to wax the areas that were missed. I'm 7 months pregnant and not able to wax myself anymore, which is why I pay to get waxed. Good experience! This was my first time at the Durham location. I had Carmen, who gave me the best Brazilian I've ever had. I love it. She was very nice and welcoming. She talked to me the whole time, which made the process less stressful. My aunt also went with me and this was her first time getting a wax! Her experience wasn't so great. She had Paige, who wasn't very friendly. She has patches of hair left all over her. She was very sore afterwards, because Paige went over spots more than twice with the wax. read more

I've been a European Wax Center customer for about 4 years now. This is my go to location as it is convenient for me and close to my job. I've been seeing Candace C. and She is always amazing and polite. Her schedule is always flexible and accommodating. The front desk receptionists are always very polite. One of the perks of European Wax Center is their wax package. I have a package for both my eyebrows and Brazilian waxes and i would recommend these to any frequent customers. They do accept walk-ins but if it's a pretty busy day some times they may not be able to fit you in which is why I always pre book by using their app or calling in. They also have a late policy. If you arrive more than 9min past your scheduled appointment it's automatically canceled but I think this is a very generous grave period. read more

It was a free eyebrow wax, so I can't say too much about it. They do a hard sell of all their products when you first come in, but the front staff was pretty friendly about it. I requested just under my brow waxed bc I'm pretty sensitive and in between the brow. And that is exactly and only what she did. She didn't offer to trim my brows or pluck any strays. When I got home, there were a lot of strays under the brow, so I did a bit of plucking at home. read more

This was my first visit and was a great experience. I showed up as a walk-in after work and although they couldn't see me right then, they gave me a later time that evening. The location is great because it's in a shopping plaza with Pier One, Old Navy, Best Buy, ect. and right across the street from Southpoint mall so it was easy to kill 2 hours until my appointment. I showed back up a little early (if you are past 9 minutes of your scheduled appointment - they cancel it) so I wanted to make sure that didn't happen. They tell you this right up front. Patty did a great job with the treatments and was even able to do an additional treatment because she had some extra time. She was gentle and thorough. Because it was my first visit, I received one of my 3 treatments for free so that was a bonus. They are not the cheapest but I like the environment and the fact that you can book online. They suggested products but there was no pressure to buy those or purchase the plan. Plan to go back in 4 weeks. read more

My friend has a scheduled appointment but helped me out with some unexpected car troubles that morning like a good human. Calls the place on our way to warn them she would be late, they tell her about the 9 minute late policy, but also mention they are running behind with their clients anyway. We arrive exactly 9 minutes late, she waits behind another person already in line, gets to the front desk and is told she is 10 minutes late and would have to reschedule. Bogus. I understand late policies, but not enforcing them when you arrive within the timeframe and when the place is running behind with the patients ahead of her anyway. I thought alarm clocks were the only inconvenient thing that worked with a 9 minute schedule. read more
