After feeling insulted and pressured at another area threading salon, I decided to give Wow Brows a shot. My mom, who has been admiring my brows ever since I started getting them threaded as opposed to waxing, was in town and wanted to have hers done as well. The studio is spacious, nice, and clean. The check-in process is self-managed on a mini computer; quick and easy. The chairs recline, and are comfortable, and the process took about five minutes for each of us. My mom has sparse Asian eyebrows, and I thought they handled them well. And they maintained the shape my brows had already been given. Upon checkout, we got one of the frequent customer cards. The only thing holding me back from a 4-star experience is that the price seems steep at $12 (I've paid $8 for threading in Chapel Hill, $7 in Cary, and the place I used to get brows waxed, which requires more materials than threading, charges $12). Pretty upset right now..... I'm very low maintenance and the only thing I take care of are my eyebrows so if it's not done correctly than it upsets me. Today I went in and the Indian lady messed up my eyebrows. They're uneven!!!!!! My left side is thinner than my right side! Also I had to check and ask her to clean up areas three times!!!! I will never come back here. I usually go to the wow brows in Greensboro but decided it was finally time to give this place a try since It's closer to me. I specifically said when I went in that I've been growing my brows out for over a month and just want a clean up and to keep them thick. It didn't matter how many times I said it, she just tuned me out and did her own thing. I even pointed to the beginning of my left brow and said that I didn't want that part touched. She was cutting so much of my brows with little scissors I knew I should've said something to her but I trusted that since I reminded her several times that I wanted them thick that she was doing just that. Not only do I leave with thinner brows than I wanted but they're UNEVEN. The one part of my left brow I told her not to touch, she took over way further than she should have! I don't understand how something like this even happens if you know how to do brows! I hate to even post a picture but look how much further over this brow is than the other!!! On top of that I was in tears because she did everything I told her not to do and they STILL HAD ME PAY. I've been getting threaded for years and this was probably the most painful experience I have had. The girl who did my eyebrows threaded in a way that I could as she pull each hair individually, from prior experience with threading I know that it doesn't have to be so painful. This caused me to question her skills. With their lower price, it may be worth returning and trying a different staff member. read more

If I could give this venue 0 stars, I would. After reaching out to the Manager of WOW Brows to discuss my experience, he invited me to come in again for a free eyebrow service. I appreciated that gesture. He then emailed me notifying me that, if i didn't update my "terrible review" on Yelp, he wouldn't "authorize the girls" to provide that free eyebrow service! A few things are wrong with that. First of all, this isn't about the $10 it took to get my eyebrows done. This is about business conduct. I paid for a service that was poorly received. Secondly, he asked me to update my review BEFORE I came in for the eyebrow threading! That's dishonest, manipulative, and bribery! I told him I wouldn't write a falsified positive review. My reviews on Yelp are honest, comprehensive, and intended for consumer awareness. Secondly, I took issue with him referring to his employees as "the girls". They are grown women. They aren't "girls". And their gender shouldn't matter anyway. Ultimately, after threatening to report the convo to the Better Business Bureau, he processed a $10 refund to me via Paypal. I had a bad taste in my mouth following my experience last week, but after talking to the manager and interacting with him directly, my mind is blown. I'm not sure how this place manages to stay in business with that sort of entitled mindset. read more

Wow is right. After waxing my brows for decades I can honestly say that threading is so much better. My daughter has been going to Wow Brows for about a year and her brows have never looked so perfect for her face. She also started getting her whole face done and I think it makes a big difference in how she looks and feels about her appearance now. I have pretty full brows, and what I thought was a nice shape to them. What I saw when I was done was such a pleasant surprise. Not only were my brows absolutely perfect but the lady had reshaped them in a way that made my eyelids look better. I was so excited I went over to Ulta and bought some new eyeshadow. Not only was the result great but the people there were nice and very professional. The atmosphere is very upscale and pretty. I really don't get some of the negative comments here on Yelp. I would recommend this salon to everyone. My biggest regret was not going here sooner. I'll be coming here every time. One last thing for folks like me. I'm a real germ-a-phobe. First time getting my brows done, as well as threaded. Man was the end result worth it!! My eyebrows are thin & sparse but also sort of shapeless and thick. I never thought I would have those nice clean arches that those with fuller brows are able to achieve but after threading + the WOW Brows powder, I achieved the cleanest brows I've ever had in my life. I felt like a million bucks. I was a walk in and there were two customers ahead of me - wait was about 15-20 minutes, not too bad. I had had a good experience at their mall stand at Southpoint, so I went to their main location. During the threading it started hurting a lot more than the previous times that I have gotten threaded or waxed, but I thought maybe it was just one of those days. I looked in the mirror when I left and nearly passed out. I now have little chunks of missing skin along my brow prominence. A line of scabs under my eyebrows was not the look I wanted, thanks. I would have preferred the hair there instead, it's less noticeable than looking like I got beat up. I really hope these don't get infected.... ++++So update one month later- took about a week to heal, no infection or scarring, but had to postpone photos for work I was having taken professionally to send to clients. More importantly, I just noted my above review was taken down. Not sure why this happened as it certainly is not profane or violating any of the terms of service. I can link a picture of my injury that I took the next day if proof is really needed but am pretty annoyed with Yelp! for taking this down since I posted this in good faith to help others. read more

Sigh. Where to start. My bf wanted to stop by REI when I noticed this place next door. I had been needing to get threaded so I decided to try it out. The woman before me took a while as I heard her complaining about her eyebrows being uneven. I'm sure some people's eyebrows are more difficult to deal with so I decided to ignore it. My turn. As soon as she started on my eyebrows - WOW! I have never had such a painful threading session in my LIFE. Threading is usually parallel to waxing in which the hair is ripped off fairly quickly. Here, I could feel every single hair being plucked out because of how slow she was going. You could tell she hadn't been doing this for very long. As she's working on my eyebrows, she starts commenting on hair near my sideburns. Like any typical female, I have obsessively inspected my face many times before and any hairs that may exist there have never been noticeable or an issue. I verbalized this but she wouldn't let it go. With both of us looking at my face in a mirror, I had to keep stating over and over again that there was nothing noticeable there and that it really wasn't necessary. Here is where it gets foul - she resorted to throwing insults at me by telling me how ugly it was, how ugly it makes my profile look, how women shouldn't even have hair there, then exaggerating by saying now she sees I have a beard and that I even have hair behind my ears. She even called the other threader over, pointing at my face and saying "So ugly, right?" and they both began laughing. By now, I'm feeling a mixture of anger, anxiety, bewilderment, and uncomfortableness. Before I realized what was happening, she says "Let me show you" and just goes at it, threading one side of my face. She asked me if I wanted her to do the other side of my face and honestly, I'm 300% baffled at what's happening at this point and 'No' is obviously not a word she understands so I resigned and let her finish the other side. As I rushed to pay and get out of there, what started as wanting a simple eyebrow threading job, which has never cost me more than $10, ended up costing me $40!!!!! That's right, $40 of my hard earned money! As I meet up with my bf afterward and tell him everything that just happened, he tells me to look at my face in a mirror - lo and behold, my eyebrows were completely uneven in thickness and the arches were different!! I was in such a hurry to get out of this place that I didn't pay any attention to what they looked like before leaving. Although really, I doubt they'd have the skill set to fix it. Look, I get you're trying to start a successful business but bullying and degrading your customers is NOT going to sustain you. Please avoid this place at any cost and save yourself the trouble by heading over to Chandni's. Or any other legitimate salon for that matter. read more

I would love to give ZERO stars, but I will give 5 so yelp does not remove this post. I just read an updated post from another young lady. It seems that she had a similar experience. Now I was never offered any free service, If i was i an certain that the OWNER Bill would of wanted me to remove my review. Bill contacted about 15 minutes after I posted my yelp review. He felt the need to bring to my attention about privacy and his lawyers? I don't need to be educated on whether or not I know my rights. Yelp is a site that is suppose to allow for the consumer to voice or express how they feel or the way a customer was treated. Bill did not denie that he has microphones and can listen to person conversations not just from the employees, but also a customer who maybe on a personal call that happened to be none of his business. After what i just read about this place and customers being contacted to revise the yelp review in exchange for a free service is very much dishonest. Next to the same thing happened to me!! I (male) went in to get my eye brows done. I specifically said "just eyebrows" As she was painfully ripping them out (have done this in the Middle East before, was never painful) she starting talking about how gross it was "ewww hairy, everywhere." Her accent was so thick I couldn't understand what she was saying exactly, but I thought it was "I try cheek, I try upper eye." Through the pain, and not knowing what she was saying, after asking "what" three times, I just nodded. She didn't say she was going to charge me. At the end, she said, I give you good discount... give him $3 discount" to the man at the register. "I did eyebrow, cheek, and forehead..." So the $12 I was supposed to pay cost around $35 after her generous and coerced "discount." I begrudgingly paid it (I even tipped a couple bucks, to prove I was not cheap). The job wasn't bad, however, and had they not robbed me, I would have gone back. Stay away! Unethical at best, possibly criminal. read more

I went after having done before...at that time I was well pleased. This was my 2nd time...and I think once you've messed up someone's eyebrows you have to just make it even. Needless to say I was told let your eyebrows grow all the way out so I can reshape them! Well of course they have to grow back since you messed them up...and how can you fix them when you already took half of them off!!!!! Never again!! read more

Anu is absolutely amazing. She is helping me regrow and reshape my brows after they have been repeatedly messed up and is slowly transforming them into exactly what I have been wanting. She is by far the best brow artist I have been to yet, and I've used many different people. Today she also specially came in (on her day off!) to do lash extensions for my engagement photos. Hit or miss. I had a great Chinese woman thread my brows the first time. No wait, quick check-in process, probably because it was 2pm on a Tues. She knew it was my first time and I didn't want anything too unnatural looking. She gave me a subtle but well defined arch - LOVED it!! It really complimented my face. The second time another woman with glasses threaded them. They were even and okay looking, but she softened the arch, even though I asked her not to.
