I've been a customer of EWC in Hialeah for about four years now and have never had any concerns. More recently, I've been waxing my eyebrows with a specialist named Cynthia and am always very happy and satisfied with my eyebrow shape after my appointments. Unfortunately, Cynthia was unavailable for a last minute appointment on May 21st and I decided to book with Patricia, who is the location's wax manager. I explained to her that I wanted my eyebrows to be left as thick as possible. At the appointment, my eyebrows were very grown out as I hadn't had them waxed in over two months (my last appointment was March 19th with Cynthia). Patricia asked me, in Spanish, what I wanted, and I told her I wanted to clean them up and give them "forma," which I understood as the Spanish word for "shape." After my wax, I briefly looked at myself in the mirror and was worried about what I saw, but my eyebrows hadn't been brushed and I felt embarrassed to overanalyze them in front of her so I thanked her and hurried out of the room. I checked out with one of my wax passes (I had previously purchased a 12 wax pass), left $5 tip, asked the front desk girl for a spoolie, and left the location. As soon as I got into my car and brushed my eyebrows I realized that Patricia had overwaxed my eyebrows. The tails were too thin, there were gaps within the eyebrows themselves (from over-cutting length), and the eyebrows were uneven. I immediately contacted the front desk, expressed my dissatisfaction, and asked not to be charged for a wax pass since I was unhappy with the end result and I felt like Patricia didn't listen to what I really wanted. Patricia called me back and she seemed very defensive. She said that I asked for "forma" and that that's why she thinned out the tail end of the eyebrows. I explained to her that I used the same terminology when I went to my appointments with Cynthia and had never had an issue. I told her I didn't understand her defensiveness and she assured me she wasn't being defensive, she was simply responding to my concern, and that she didn't think that because I was a customer complaining, she simply had to "listen to the customer and stay quiet without responding," (I am translating, as the entire conversation was in Spanish). I thanked her, and explained that regardless of what she understood, I was still a dissatisfied customer and I didn't think I should be charged a wax pass seeing as how I was unhappy with the end result. She said she'd speak to the owner and let me know their decision by Monday, May 23rd. Monday, May 23rd, I received a call from a front desk clerk to let me know Patricia had spoken to the owner (Kirenia) and I had been denied the reversal of the wax pass because I asked for "forma." I have never once complained, in the past three to four years of being a loyal European Wax customer, having purchased multiple wax passes ranging from eyebrow waxes to Brazilian waxes, of poor service or dissatisfaction with one of my services. I've taken my time to write this review because I was hopeful that the owner would help me find a suitable resolution to this matter, but wrote the owner an email and never received a response. I honestly think that the denial of a suitable resolution boiled down to one thing: ego. Patricia's ego was bruised because I indicated that a different wax specialist did a better job of waxing my eyebrows than she did. But what is the most disturbing and speaks volumes of the terribly ill management of this location is that they were willing to lose a loyal customer for a measley $20. STEER CLEAR of this place. read more

I've never had a bad experience at this location in Hialeah. I used to go to the one in Midtown forever ago until they opened this location. It's always clean and the waxers are always quick and timely. I've been waxed by three different ladies and the results are always perfect and smooth. read more

This wax center located on 49th street is great. It is kept very clean and the ladies that work the front counter are always super duper nice. If you have to wait, they offer you water. I highly recommend Patricia or Catalina. They're waxing method is great. They let you know to take a deep breath right before they pull off the wax which makes for a less painful experience. I have done a waxes with Jacky before but I found her to be a bit too rough for my liking. Samples can also be offered for certain products if you have never tried them. If you want to try it before committing, I highly recommend asking if they have any samples available. A lot of the waxers main language is Spanish. Their English is good enough to understand your needs for the wax just dont expect any small talk. They are all really nice! read more

This is the second time I go to this location and while my experience was definitely positive the first time, the second time left something to be desired. My appointment was for 8 am and I was less than ten minutes late when they began to blow up my phone saying that I needed to be there on time otherwise they wouldn't be able to do the wax. I get it, I should've made an effort to be there on time but traffic was particularly nasty that morning and I made it less than 10 minutes late. When I arrived there were no other clients there, just me. The lady that called me also had a slightly nasty tone. I understand that I was a little late but am I not the customer that will be spending over $100 in services plus tip? The waxer was polite and pleasant, she also did a good job. One of the things that bothered me however, was that the first time I went she put a hair growth minimizer lotion and it was well over a month before my hair began to grow back. This time around, the hair began to grow back in less than two weeks! Based on my first experience, I wanted to go on a monthly basis but after my second visit I noticed an inconsistency with their services and I'm afraid I will not be a monthly customer. read more

All of the girls I've been attended by are great! Very friendly, very attentive, & although most people don't wax because they would feel uncomfortable, these girls definitely make you feel comfortable whether it's waxing your brows, or your bikini. I am familiar with EWC as its where I normally go and I can say that if I lived in the area I would certainly come back again to see Jackie. I've been to various European Wax Centers and this by far was the worst location I've been to. I've been serviced by 2 ladies, the first was named Patricia & she was awful. She was really rough & burned me. I told her that the wax was too hot & she neglected my concern for the temperature of the wax & I have extremely sensitive skin. The second lady was Jacky, she was excellent. She knew what she was doing, she warned me every time she was going to pull the wax strips & she was very patient with me. I'm only giving it 1 star because of the burning issue I had. I don't feel like I should be spending money to get 3rd degree burns. read more
