I had the pleasure of meeting the store manager at this location, and had several fantastic conversations that I would like to share here in the reviews. I found out that this location is one of the few corporate locations which means it is not part of the franchise. I had noticed that it is a lot more beautiful than the other franchise locations including the decor and the special lighting. That's in the rooms. it definitely feels more luxurious than the other locations I booked the laser package for full legs for $1800 and was absolutely blown away by the new technology that they had purchased. I knew that EWC was going to invest in the most new and highest advanced technology available for laser. It uses a nitro system, which felt like there was cold puffs of water being sprayed onto my legs, it was for the most part painless. I can't wait to see the results of these sessions, and I also want to continue working in for my full arms and under arms. read more

DO NOT TAKE THE CHANCE! If you're coming here for an eyebrow waxing PLEASE look elsewhere. Once every year or two (only when my usual waxing location is busy) I go to European Wax for an eyebrow cleanup and shaping - each and every time I don't seem to learn my lesson. Every visit is atrocious in terms of the eyebrow service. In my most recent visit, half of my left eyebrow was waxed off!!! I went into the place with nice thick eyebrows that needed to be cleaned up and left with short mismatched stubs that do not resemble each other in the slightest. Do not come here - plain and simple. This happens every time I come here no matter the girl doing it. I have 15 FREE eyebrow waxes AND I STILL WILL NEVER GO BACK. My hair grows very slowly and this will take months to regrow. The local manager answers phone calls now, and my techs (Denise and Veronica) were pleasant, respectful, and skilled. Waxing is fast and nearly pain-free here, and packages make pricing reasonable. Immaculate space with plenty of parking. Caveats: I do wish EWC's corporate HQ would improve the company's online booking experience which can be slow and unreliable. Also I've learned to avoid late afternoons when the place is swamped with frantic soccer moms so appointments can run late. I used to go to their Levittown location for years. I stopped going there because the people at the front desk became increasingly condescending. I no longer felt valued as a customer. This location is closer to home and I began coming here, shortly before they moved into this beautiful new space! The front desk people are always friendly and make you feel, welcomed. Today, I asked a young lady to check the prices on the packages I purchased. She had to do a little digging into my history to find the information. I apologized for making extra work for her. She said it was no problem and was extremely patient and helpful. Her excellent customer service made me very happy! (I'm sorry I didn't get her name). Made a last minute appointment here and chose "no waxer" preference which is always a terrifying game of Russian Roulette. In an ideal world, all aestheticians give an amazing wax and generally EWC is great but choosing no waxer preference can be an adrenaline rush. That being said, I have found my forever aesthetician for as long as she works at EWC. Marlene was my waxing angel today and she did an incredible job. Painless, great conversation, and super comfortable atmosphere. What more could I ask for when booking a wax 15 minutes before getting to the salon? I have several packages with European because I had an amazing esthetician who never disappointed whenever I got services done at my location. She recently left the location and I was assured the person I got paired with is equally as experienced as my now former esthetician. I went in, the person was very nice. However, the wax was not being left to dry enough before she pulled it off. I addressed this lightly, she insisted she's thorough and goes over the spot several times as to not leave any hair. Imagine having semi dry wax pulled off your vagina. I had full arms, underarms, Brazilian and full legs. I have a package for each service. My skin stung a little and I thought perhaps it's because I just got all this waxing done, makes sense I'm a little irritated. The next day my entire Brazilian area is severely inflamed, followed by my arms and legs and underarms. I have a ton of ingrowns all over, bumps because of irritated pores that got inflamed, all over. It's painful. My legs I've had to get a mild exfoliate and leg mit to gently release the ingrowns so I can try to avoid disgusting legs this summer. I cannot go though this again. I spend a lot of money for professionalism and experienced estheticians which is proudly boasted with your brand. I'm unnerved, dissatisfied and wish I did not replenish my packages because I'm receiving subpar services with a subpar esthetician. When European first came to NY I started off at a location in the city on the UWS. I've been a loyal member for many many years. My husband tried to help me tweeze my ingrowns tonight and took pictures because I had no clue how terrible the back of my legs were. My hair is the easiest hair to remove, I almost never need a clean up strip. I'm so mad that I want my packages refunded and I never want to set foot in a European Wax Center again. read more

I've always shaved, but I've been having issues with ingrown hairs so I decided to try EWC. Over the years I've gone to the random nail salons for waxing, but I'm tired of explaining not to double-dip. It's unhygienic and gross! Their first-time customer 50% deal seemed reasonable enough, so I booked an underarm wax. I booked an appointment and was seen by Athina within the hour. Athina's great, extremely professional and NOT pushy about trying products or other services. She explained what she was doing while she was doing it, and answered all my questions regarding what makes their wax different from others as well as what other services they provide. I cannot emphasize enough how uncomfortable it makes me when someone's cutting my hair, doing my make-up, doing my nails, etc. and pushing me to try other services and I feel trapped because they're touching me. I think the service should stand for itself, and if it's good then I will recommend it to others and continue to go there and buy products. Athina wasn't pushy at all, and as a result I booked a second appointment with her for a bikini wax and another under-arm wax. Again, stellar professional service and she was thorough about getting stubborn hairs. She recognizes that the situation can be kind of awkward, and does everything to ease your mind. I've already booked ahead for several sessions. EWC's wax isn't like regular wax. It's a gel-like substance that hardens a bit and then the aesthetician rolls it off of you. No strips, no double-dipping, no blowing on the wax. It kind of reminds me of when you're a kid and you let Elmer's glue dry on your skin and you peel it off. I think I have a pretty high pain tolerance, so my experience might not be what others feel, but I didn't feel any discomfort at all. It's like a sharp pinch that last three seconds. I didn't take any sort of pain reliever beforehand or apply numbing cream. read more

Nice to see that they finally reopened this location after their long renovation. I've been going here the past two years and they recently expanded the size of this location. The place looks spectacular now they have a larger space. Plenty of room to sit and wait for your wax specialist to call you in the waiting area. The staff is the most superb in customer service by greeting their customers and making sure they are taken care of. I highly recommend requesting Veronica for your appointments. She is absolutely the best to make sure you feel comfortable at your appointment, especially if you have never gotten waxed before. They educate you on what products to use to make waxing more comfortable when removing hair from the body. For new customers they usually offer a free brow, underarm or bikini line wax. They also offered 50%off for NYS residents for your first service if you decide to pick another type of service other than the free first time services. Usually throughout the year they have specials for packages and products. Although there is parking at the front entrance, I recommend parking in the back parking lot since there are plenty of parking spaces there. read more

I have been a customer at EWC for almost 3 years. I signed up for EWC in Staten Island, and have since relocated to Long Island. I have been purchasing the annual unlimited wax pass. I think it's ~$600+ annually for the Brazilian package, and you can go as many times as you want, no limits. They use hard wax, as opposed to strip wax. And they do not double dip. For appointments, it's kinda difficult to book with certain people who are booked 3 weeks in advance, so I would recommend making appointments early. However, if you have no preference for a specific waxer, you can almost always get an appointment on the day of. EWC also calls you and emails you to remind you of your appointments (which is extremely helpful). They are also strict about being punctual for your appointment and will cancel your appointment if you arrive 10-15 minutes late. There is one aesthetician that I absolutely loooove, and she is already extremely difficult to book, so I can't mention her name on this post. However, recently, I made an appointment with Athina (since my usual aesthetician was not working), and she was very good! Very easy to talk to, and she did a great job, while getting me in and out in just 10 minutes. Unfortunately, I can't give this place 5 stars since I've had bad experiences from some of the other aestheticians due to hot wax (to the point that my skin was burned and peeling), and leaving way too many stray hairs. Oh and FYI, for the butt strip, this location does it a little differently than the locations I've been to in the past. They want you to flip over on your belly, and spread your cheeks (In EWC on Staten Island and on Chambers Street in Manhattan, it's knees to chest). read more

I have absolutely no complaints about any of the waxers at the Merrick location. I, on the other hand have a lot to say about management at the Merrick location. Her name is Valerie. She's been there for about five minutes and she still training to be a manager while calling herself a manager. She is the most unprofessional person I've ever come across in my life. I am the manager of a 70 employee 10,000 square-foot salon in Queens that has been in business for 52 years. The way I was treated by Valerie was completely unacceptable let alone professional. Never at our salon would we let a customer gets treated especially a loyal, consistent client who buys packages all of the time I get treated the way she treated me. The only person that has been keeping the Merrick location afloat has been Kristin. It blows my mind why she is not the manager. She is the only one that can run that location with her eyes closed. No other managers last because they have no idea what they are doing after my package is complete and the 10 friends I brought with me who also bought packages we will never be returning to that location or European wax Center ever again. Valerie, the manager of the Merrick location told me that she reached out to Vicky her district manager and told me that she would not comp my package services due to the three canceled appointments that they did to me. LAST MINUTE... (although I know, for a fact that the two waxers I used prior gave management a months notice before they left the wax Center) Instead the district manager offered me 20,000 points which only equals to $20. Is that a joke? Is this how you run your company? I will be leaving a review in every place I possibly can about this location until it is shut down I would really appreciate a response back and some compensation to this aggravation my time wasted the complete unprofessionalism that was displayed at this location to me , I would like my next visit on my package comped along with the 20,000 points. I will also be sending an email to the district manager so well all of my other friends and family not only that but like I said I will be going to Facebook all of the Facebook mom groups yelp Google , and every other place you could possibly imagine to leave a review about this location and this immature, unprofessional little girl, that you people wanna call a manager. Prior to my first experience I had previously worked for the company for many years so I absolutely know what to look for in a service. I was eager to find a location close to my home and was recommended to see Veronica. SHE IS AMAZING!!!! she always walks me through my skin care routine by sharing personal results with her favorite products. while she waxes me she educates me on any new products or different areas of my skin that she would like me to exfoliate more. what i love the most is none of my Hairs break when she waxed even at a comfortably speedy pace. my second lasts anywhere from 3-4 weeks which is perfect for my life style. the manager Lauren and assistant manager Ashley always take care of me as well by recommending different ways to fit the service into my schedule !! read more

European wax center has once again proved to me that it is being run by an idiot circus. In addition to my other issues with this company stated in my previous review, they have decided they cannot book appointments correctly. For the past month and a half, I have been receiving phone calls two days before my appointment informing me that my wax specialist "will not have enough time to complete the services." I am then instructed that I will need to rebook. I have had three reservations that were all booked at least a month in advance on the mobile app. I do this because I dislike speaking to anyone who works for european wax center, and the wax specialist I have seen for many years typically books up pretty quickly because she rocks. There was never an explanation for this and I am sure if I complained they would say they will "put a form in to corporate." That is what they like to tell you when they clearly have no access to the tools needed to deal with clients. It is really a shame this company has found some way to stay around for so long with horrible customer service and front desk people. They are nothing without the great waxers they have. What a waste of talent. Still waiting for another wax chain to come around. Until then, good riddance to bad rubbish. read more

I go here regularly for eyebrows and bikini. I'm always greeted by the friendly front staff. Love my wax specialist, Christina. She is awesome, always on time and does a great job. She is very experienced and I'm in and out. The great thing about the wax here is that there is no double dipping, it's very sanitary and the wax they use is less painful than others. I absolutely love this place and was sad to see the low score. I think this place is well priced (even cheap!) Personally I love the hard wax it is less painful than the traditional waxing style. They are very fast and you are in and out in like 20 minutes! (Depending on the area!!!) I usually go for brazillian waxes and love it! I tried a full leg wax once, was disappointed afterwards because I saw patches. I went back and they set me up asap to get a touch up no charge! I never had an issue with management or the staff! I went to EWC for a Brazilian a few days before the Christmas holiday in 2011 and was not able get another wax for 4 months. They used the hard wax that had to be peeled off my skin and I was very badly bruised and torn as a result. It took several months to fully heal. I usually visit another salon on 21st street in the city but was pressed for time and went to EWC on my way to visit my parents in LI. When I went back to the 21st street salon in May 2012, my waxer was immediately able to tell that I had visited another salon because she saw the scars that were left from the tearing of my skin. If I could give EWC a negative score I would!! They left me with physical and emotional scars!! read more

Went to the Merrick center for a Brazilian Wax. Have been doing it for years at other places. Diane was the utmost in friendly and professional. Was surprised and pleased at the type of heavy wax used that doesn't require cloth strips or the usual amount of pulling and tearing away. It was over in minutes with very good results. Not an immaculate job, but good enough for me to consider buying the several visit prepaid plan. Really great! I SWEAR by Mercedes- she is fantastic, thorough and meticulous. I've been to the EWC in East Northport and had a really shotty experience; my waxer didn't wait for the wax to dry long enough and, anyone who has had a brazilian knows, if you don't let the wax dry long enough and try to rip it off it KILLS. She also didn't bother tweezing the stray hairs which really annoyed me. But I have been going to the Merrick location for over a year and have always had a great experience. Also, while I haven't experienced this first hand (ie: never needed a phone call) I have witnessed the receptionist call clients to let them know if their waxer is running particularly late, which is super considerate. All in all, while the actual process of having your hair ripped out of your lady bits will never be "pleasant," I've always had the best experience I can at this location. read more
