I really did not enjoy my experience here. I feel like Shari was being rude and almost passive aggressive to me when I was expressing concerns and asking questions during my service. I only went in to get my brows shaped and to even them out; but after she was done I asked her to fix a few things and her comments had a lot of attitude and I didn't feel comfortable asking her to change things. She knew I wasn't happy with them and provided me $6 off my $60 service which was not worth it to just get my eyebrows waxed for that price when no real "shaping expertise" was provided to me. read more

Wonderful experience from the start. You walk in and there is a lovely aroma, of perhaps vanilla or candy. Just a very cute atmosphere and the waiting area is charming. As so many reviews recommended, I booked with Jessica, and now, I can personally recommend her too! She's very chill and helps you calm down before and during the treatment, and she did her thing like a pro. The session was also fairly quick; I was there for no longer than half an hour. I finally decided to give then place a try since I've heard wonderful things about sugaring. Well I'm sooo glad I did. Yesterday I tried some sugaring services with Jessica and I was very pleased. From the beginning I had such a great experience. You can check out the services, book an appointment all online which is a huge plus for me. This saves me time, makes the entire process so much easier and flexible. Once I walked in I was seen immediately. It all happened so fast I wasn't even able to take pics of the place but trust me when I say it's super welcoming and very very clean. The actual process, I won't get into details about sugaring because I'm no expert but for me it was less painful than waxing. The highlight of my visit was Jessica. She made me feel so comfortable, she was super friendly and patient. She took her time to explain the entire process to me along with making suggestions for future visits. I was a few minutes late due to weather today. Monique kept her schedule and allowed me to keep my tint on until she finished the lady after me. I like how the appointments are structured and on time and point. I've never done tints before, i usually get them jacked up every two weeks by random eyebrow threaders. The tints make a difference. I just have one question... where have you been all my life Shari?! .. All Shari's are God sent so I knew that I would enjoy my experience at Bare Fruit Sugaring & Brow Studio :) I used to get my eyebrows done at a nail salon but the lady I used to go to kept thinning out my brows. So I decided to grow them out for 3-4 weeks and after some research and reading a few Yelp reviews I decided to go with Bare Fruit. I snagged an appointment through their online scheduling service. Arrived a few minutes early and Shari got right to business and laid me back in her chair. The office is beautiful, cozy, small and very clean. She is such a pro that she didn't even have to measure me-- she immediately started to comb, cut and then wax. After the wax she tweezed a bit and then decided to do the tint. The tint is basically a dark brown dye that they put over your own brows in the most perfect shape so it gives the illusion of perfect brows even if you don't have them. I loved it! I took advantage of the free check in offer while my brows sat with the tint for a few minutes and got my upper lip "sugared". I don't remember all ingredients but the wax consists of sugar and lemon juice and its such a cool process of how they take the hair off and it lasts longer than any other wax. Loved it :) She wiped of the tint and I was a new woman -- perfectly shaped brows and all. I still have to grow in my brows but this is great and I booked my next appointment for 3 weeks out. Goodbyeeee to Shaving and Waxing! It feels so good to finally have a legitimate place for all my hair removal needs. For those that don't know, Sugaring is an ALL NATURAL ancient hair removal technique that removes hair directly from the root and doesn't attach to the skin and tear it like traditional waxing can. I honestly feel and see the difference, and some of my hair has even been permanently removed by constantly coming. It's been worth every penny. First time getting a sugar waxed. First thing I see when I walk in the room is that the table where i was told to lay have not been cleaned. The sheet let's call it had visible wax with someone's hair in it. So I opened the door and waited for the woman to come back it, I told her it was dirty she apologized and put down a new one from the roll. That 100% skeeved me out and made me slightly more nervous than I should have been about the cleanliness of the place. I was tempted to just walk out because of it but I stayed. The process of what was going to happen during the sugaring was not explained and I did mention it was my first time. I was not told what to do or what not do to afterwards, guess I'll just Google some things on my own. The sugaring hurt but they are pulling hair out. Okay so... I'm a little over 7 months pregnant and there are certain areas that I haven't seen in months . I can definitely say I needed a little help haha So I have never been waxed or 'sugared' before and didn't know what to expect but I was pleasantly surprised. Ok so I've done it all: waxing and I've even done laser for my Brazilian yes down there ladies. I've done it all so I was actually waiting a little bit before I wrote a review cuz I wanted to make sure that the amazing results I was saying was not just temporary! Not only Shari amazingly friendly and knowledgeable in this because I was like huh sugaring? But she walks you through everything, explains why it's better and even if she didn't you can just tell by your results. I've been going for a few months and I remember after the first appointment we scheduled my appointment for 4 weeks from that date. I thought no way, that's too far, I used to was every 3 weeks and it was a little brutal, what is she thinking but hey, she knows her stuff. 4 weeks late I was like wow there's barely any hair. I actually started doing my under arms too and when I go on vacation next month I plan on getting my arms and legs done and I know it'll be worth it. Oh also started using her scrubs! They're so good, and I looooove a good body scrub. Hers is with sugar instead of salt which is better for your body altogether and can even be used on those intimate areas ;-) I only wish I knew about this sooner! Try it out!! Then the changed the person that I work with. They lied in their voicemail about when then are open, closed for lunch and closed for the evening. Just stay at home and take care of it yourself. You need 2cups of sugar, 1/4cup of lemon juice and 1/4 cup water FOR $6.34. DO NOT COME HERE AND PAY $60 for an attitude. I know this clearly because Shari isn't around. But I don't have time to be a learning experience for rude white girls. And if you have to double check every day what your employees have to do then don't open more than one location. read more

I knew you would lie. I never yelled at the receptionist. I never yelled at you. You were rude, you didn't treat me like you wanted to figure out what was going on. You automatically dismissed me and tried to treat me like I was trying to get over which was far from how I even felt. I take pride in taking care of my bills and no matter how you try to characterize me, I paid for every single visit (April 2019 was actually the last month that the reduced member fee was paid, again I didn't realize that, but that's what it was). The month of May, I couldn't even make it because I was very busy with work, etc. And I lost my credit card. Then when I did come in June, things at work and my kid graduating, etc and putting my new credit card on file with your business, had me pre-occupied and I didn't even realize that I paid the regular price (not a membership price). So, what part of that is me trying to get over or wanting to have a fight with your team or with you?? It doesn't make sense. You were nasty. Even in your response to my review, you're calling me names, cursing and not even trying to see how you caused things to get out of control. I've been wanting to check out Bare Fruit ever since we moved to Long Island, but my schedule just didn't allow it until a year later. I'm so glad I finally got around to doing so though! I mentioned to Shari that it's hard to get out of the house with a four year old and no family nearby to help watch her. Shari graciously said that I was welcome to bring my daughter to future appointments if I wanted to. It's pricier than what I typically paid for eyebrow waxing in the past, but I think it's so worth it. I don't mind paying more when the outcome is so good (my brows are tricky with an added little cowlick at the end just for fun). I also love the brow tinting. I felt like it defined my brows just enough without being too much. Everyone I spoke to was super friendly yet professional. I have tried twice to communicate with you about your upcoming appointments.. however, it was extremely Rude to hang up on me twice after I have introduced myself. This is not the type of energy we accept from our Bare Fruit Friends, as a result, we will be cancelling your appointments. and ask you not to book again". -Severian Westbury Salon To set the record straight, I NEVER spoke to this guy Severian, EVER. I only dealt with Jessica for my bookings (which is a sweetheart) and I tried repeatedly explaining to him that it was not me that he accuses of being abruptly rude to. This place was recommended to me by a good friend so tell me, does it make any sense for me to react in the way Severian accused me of if I am the one seeking their services? I asked to speak to owner Sherri about this "train-wreck" only to be told she was with a client and that she will call me back. Never received a call, a text nor an email of apology. I went here in late Feb 2019 and I received a sugar wax from Monique. First I'll comment on the aesthetics. The place is easy to find and parking is available in the back. Once inside I must say it's one of the cutest set ups I've ever seen. Very chic. Very clean. The person at the front desk is very friendly and personable. I went on a Wednesday around 5:30pm. Monique was very nice and did a great job and quickly. She didn't miss any spots and ensured you were ok the entire way.
