Second time getting a Brazilian, it's been awhile since I got my last one so I was a little nervous. But Devanshi made it a painless experience she also really took her time and was very precise. I will for sure be booking with her next time! Also TMI, I unfortunately did get my period the day of my scheduled appointment so I called the center and they said I could still attend my appointment as long as I felt comfortable. I did not want to cancel as I was going on a beach vacation and really needed the wax. Awful place to go--completely unprofessional and unreliable. My first appointment was canceled after I waited over an hour. They kept calling the 3:45 PM clients to come in early because they wanted to close as soon as possible. In the end, they told me they wouldn't be able to see me, even though my appointment was at 3:30 PM and their last appointment online was listed as 3:45 PM. The receptionist did her best to find someone to take me, but no one was willing. Since I live nearby, I gave them the benefit of the doubt. I rescheduled and even called the next morning to confirm. I was assured everything was set, but two hours before my 6:00 PM appointment, they called to say the esthetician hadn't shown up for work and no one else would see me. They had all day to let me know. When I explained what had happened the day before, the receptionist said, "That's weird, nobody told me anything," despite the previous receptionist apologizing repeatedly and making notes to ensure I was taken care of. Two canceled appointments in a row, despite confirmations and assurances, show a complete lack of organization and respect for customers' time. There's much better places nearby to go. read more

Summary: This location charged me $145 to book appointments in advance via Wax Passes, and then neither honored my appointments nor refunded my cost. Effectively, European Wax Center STOLE $145 from me. Do not go to this location or other locations- the business practices and costumer services are negligent as best, and dishonest/exploitative at worst. Here are the details: this location charged me $145 to prebook 6 wax sessions for my brow and lip. Then, I arrived for my first appointment, and they had no record of ever selling me the appointments in advance via the Wax Passes. I showed them the charge of $228 on my credit card statement to verify the purchase. While they had a record for my $33 bikini line wax and my purchase and $50 purchase of exfoliating products, they had no record of the remaining $145. The manager refused to refund me,and told me to dispute the charge with my credit card company. I got my bikini wax and filed my dispute claim. When I disputed the charge, European Wax Center told the investigators that the company had already provided my 6 brow and 6 lip sessions. These appointments never happened. I did not return after I learned that European Wax Center would not honor my wax passes or refund me. I am currently still in discussions with my credit card company to get the money back. The fact that this location would not honor the appointments I booked, despite showing them the charge on my statement, is unethical, unprofessional, and I will never return to European Wax Center. I will also encourage my contacts to never book with European Wax Center. It's a shame because my actual waxer was very competent; I would return to her if she worked with a different company. read more

I had an extremely disappointing and painful experience at this location and feel it's important to warn others about the Sterling, VA location. My wax specialist demonstrated a clear lack of proper training and technique. The wax was applied far too hot, causing burns, and it was layered excessively thick with poor removal technique. I left with visible skin damage, wax still on my body, and hair that wasn't fully removed. On top of that, she used an excessive amount of powder and made unprofessional comments about my hair being "too thick" and my "skin being dry." I've had waxing done regularly--even after breaks--and have never experienced anything like this. It honestly made me think about how a first-time client would feel going through this. What's even more frustrating is the complete lack of response from management. I have called every day since my appointment, once it became clear I had been burned, and have received no follow-up from either the store manager (Adriana) or regional manager (Gabby). At this point, I am requesting a full refund and will not be returning. This experience fell far below acceptable standards, both in service and customer care. read more

She repeatedly criticized how often I use my passes, which felt intrusive and made the session stressful and not at all client-focused. The European Wax Center (EWC) is amazing! Recently I had to find another waxing place because I relocated they did not disappoint. I booked a new service online, which was easy to do. When I arrived, I informed the front that I had an appointment and I was informed when my wax specialist, Lesly, was running a bit behind, which wasn't a problem. The vibes were amazing. I also received a goody bag for a first service and signing up to return. Definitely great vibes and they even have products for purchase. The only negative I have is that the sitting area was small and I literally felt like I was on top of another person but that was it. read more

Just popped in to this brand new location and had an awesome wax. The location features a new design- more purples and grays than the other EWCs which usually have red and white. My normal esthetician is out due a pregnancy. So while I was seeing family in the Dulles area I thought I would try EWC. This shop is new and they are still working on getting up to full staffing. But they had an opening for a male Brazilian and I scheduled it. Dymond was my esthetician, and she did a great job. She used hard wax which does a much better job, and used the perfect removal speed which minimized discomfort. The results were perfect. I plan to use Dymond any time I am in town! read more

TLDR; I went for a brazilian wax with Chelsea and I was left with so much hair leftover, the day following the service I had 3 deep, inflamed ingrown hairs that didn't go away for a week and left scars. I went for a wax for their grand opening free waxing services. The wax specialist I was paired with was Chelsea. I told her that it was my first time getting a brazilian and I was not sure what to expect. She explained what she was doing while she was performing the service, said things like we will start with our specialty wax, etc. However, she did a TERRIBLE job. I thought things were going well until I looked down and checked her work. I was mortified. This was the worst waxing experience of my life. She left my skin raw, inflamed and still with hair. I looked so botched. I understand that she told me since it was my first wax it wouldn't remove all of the hair, but she left A LOT. The lips looked like they weren't even really waxed, although she went over it so. many. times. The top part of where the hair begins for a typical line wax had multiple groups of hairs left over. I'm not sure if she wasn't experienced in waxing my type of hair (I have very straight hair... everywhere) or what it was, because when I was chatting with her she said she had worked at EWC before at different locations, so she definitely has some experience. The day following the appointment I was left with deep, red, inflamed ingrown hairs pushing out of the skin that hurt to touch. I followed all of the post service protocols (loose clothing, keeping it clean, no working out/sexual activity). I will say this was positive with EWC: Their products are the real deal. I used the cleanser, exfoliater and lotion to try to get rid of the ingrown hairs and it worked. It took about a week to fully heal everything, but it helped expedite the healing. I repeated using the samples they gave me every night until I ran out of product. I would love to receive waxes on a regular basis but with this experience sadly I won't be returning. My two friends did go and had a good experience so I'm sure if you get a good wax person you'll be fine read more

Now i've been off and on with going to the centers depending on the previous service , the wait time of my hair finally growing back and the area I live in at each time . I usually go through the reviews before choosing a center and the person for my appointment, BUT THIS CENTER just opened and as freshly new as it is , it was my best visit yet and I chose to go with Devanshi.. I absolutely love her, her thoroughness and the way she did my waxing. I got the brazilian and my underarms done, I got home to check for any wax that usually is missed in the clean up process and to throughly see her work and i'm like a hairless cat lol no wax is left , she is AMAZING ! i'm so glad i went with her and i will definitely be back when i'm due, thank you so much again Devanshi ! read more

I went in for a wax wanted to try the new location since it a lot closer to my house. my waxer (Gigi) seem very nice but very SHY! She left a lot of hair in my inner lips, she seems very new to this. (Like she was scared to touch) After every pull she did not apply any pressure and would do half pulls then pull again. She did not double check her work and kept looking at the iPad keeping track of time it seemed. read more

I was so excited when this EWC opened, because it is so much closer to where I live and I had been making the trip to Reston to be waxed. However, this location has been nothing but a disappointment for me and I will continue to go to Reston after two bad experiences here. To start, their scheduling availability at this location is not great and they don't have enough wax specialists. Second, their specialists TAKE FOREVER to wax you. I've been coming to EWC for a while and my Brazilians usually take about 15 minutes. Both of my services here took close to a half hour. The last wax I had, the specialist broke off all of my hair, instead of getting them from the root, which is then equivalent to shaving and defeats the entire purpose of paying good money for a wax. I then went to the front desk to pay, asked to renew my wax pass (the student one) and told her I wanted my $100 gift card on file to be applied to the purchase. When she gave me the total, it seemed like A LOT, so I confirmed that the gift card had been applied. She assured me it had, so I paid. Upon looking at my receipt in my email a few days later, I noticed the gift card was never applied and was still in my account. I feel so aggravated with this center that it's worth it for me to drive to Reston to assure I'm not wasting my money on a wax. read more
