I wrote on the electronic form they sent a day before my appointment that I was pregnant. Disclaimer, that if you speak with your OB GYN and even most spas, they are willing to give hydrafacials to pregnant women because it is not harmful to the baby. Just Google it if you don't believe me. However, it is at the discretion of the salon as to whether they will do the facial or not. For this particular salon, the owner did not tell me she had an issue with performing the facial until I arrived! And as I'm about to walk into the room, she says "I will do another facial on you but not the hydra facial because you are pregnant." Listen, if you don't want to perform the facial because of liability or whatever your reasons are that makes sense, but please be professional and call me ahead of time. Don't try to give me a different facial I don't want and make me drive 20 minutes in the middle of a week day to then deliver the news so you can at least get some money out of me. I thought that was unprofessional. Especially since I had filled out an electronic form stating I was pregnant the day before coming in. The women working there seemed really nice and the establishment was clean but you can't waste customers time like this. It is a colossal disappointment and very unprofessional.

At my previous threading place I used to come out with a red face because they were so rough with the threading and trying to get you out the door. That is not the case at Unqiue Threading. Sharma takes her time with each client. Unique Threading is located inside a laundromat, right as you enter on the right. She has her small shop enclosed so there is privacy from those coming and going from the laundromat. The shop is open seven days a week. At no point was I advised that pricing would differ from my previous services. After my appointment, when I went to check out, I was told the total was $75 higher than what I have consistently paid in the past. I calmly explained that I had not been informed of any price difference. Michelle then mentioned that the salon operates on a tiered pricing system but this was only disclosed after the service had already been completed. Unfortunately, her tone and attitude during this interaction were unprofessional and dismissive, which left me feeling disrespected. As you are likely aware, Virginia law requires that the total price of a service, including any mandatory fees or surcharges, be clearly communicated before the consumer commits to the purchase. Price transparency allows customers to make an informed decision, and in this case, that did not happen. Teesha did a wonderful job with my hair and was very pleasant to work with. However, situations like this not only create frustration for customers, but also place stylists like Teesha in an unfair position as the unexpected additional expense kept me from giving her a tip. Unfortunately, due to this negative checkout experience and the lack of clear communication regarding pricing, I will not be returning to Salon Khouri and will be sharing my experience with others.
