I've been a client of Bare for many years now, since it was OC Waxing! I've recently started having skin sensitivity with waxing and decided I wanted to try out lasering (again). I had previously received lasering from a different company and it didn't work, so I had to go back to waxing. When Bare introduced lasering I was excited because it didn't require large packages that you had to finance, you just pay for the individual treatment you want which I love because it makes it a lot more affordable and easily digestible as a luxury service. I had a consultation with Mykal on 7/16 about my sensitivities and my desired outcome and she thoroughly explained everything about the process and made me feel so comfortable! I then booked my appointment for today and just got out of that appointment. Mykal made sure I was comfortable throughout the service, trying to make it as pain-free as possible. She was efficient too, I was in and out in half an hour for all my services! She's such a comforting presence, and I appreciate her expertise and knowledge to get me to where I want to be which is permanently hair free!! I've been coming to Bare Waxing Laser probably since 2019 (when it used to be OC Waxing). I only get brazilians so I can't speak to their other services but I've had multiple waxers at this point and they've all been good experiences. The place is really clean and everyone is professional. If I had to give any advice to any newbie waxers don't be afraid to ask questions and let them know if you're not sure if something feels right (e.g., wax is a little hot). My current waxer Brandi is awesome and I'd highly recommend her! 5/5! I do have the membership which I think comes out to $63 a month (not including tip). It is expensive but also not the most expensive wax I've ever had. Also as someone who gets a wax regularly, it's definitely worth it for me. If you know you can't make it to an appointment, just call! I've had it happen where I got pulled into a last minute work meeting 30 minutes before I had to leave for my wax and they were understanding and helped me reschedule, no issues. The reason why I would knock off 1 star for this place though is the parking at the Irvine location. Try to avoid booking during peak hours (lunch and dinner) or else come at least 15-20 mins early to secure parking. read more

This place used to be a go-to for my waxing needs, and while I currently still get service from here, it's no longer my favorite since they changed from OC Waxing to Bare. Firstly I go here for Brazilians, and when I first started going, the service cost $54, which I think was a fair price. I liked coming here because of the friendly staff, and I liked the feel of their wax. With COVID, I saw it increase to $61, and this past year, the price has changed to $74 since changing to Bare. They started offering membership to get a voucher of $63 that will be applied to the appointment that's charged every month. Personally, I'm tired of businesses having a membership model, and I hate that my card is charged monthly. There is no option to skip a month, and I believe you can't cancel your membership unless the monthly charge doesn't go through. Before, I used to tip generously to the ladies who helped me, but knowing how much the price had increased since I first started coming, my tips have unfortunately decreased. They are also cashless now which has also annoyed me the times I'd rather pay in cash vs charging my card. This is also something I have noticed throughout the years. In the past, once the beautician was done with my wax, they left the room for me to change and then met them up front to pay. Now, they stay in the room to clean up, then walk me out to the front when I'm done. I find it a little weird. While this business is convenient to where I live, and there are many locations around Orange County, I'll probably stop coming here once the year is over and find a new place. read more

OC waxing is one of those places you to go when you're desperate for an eyebrow wax, but your current waxer is not available. I had been to this chain a couple of times when I first moved to the area, and always felt like I received a mediocre eyebrow wax. Each time hair was left behind and no trim was done. So I finally found someone I was happy with at another location. Only positive thing about this place is that you can get either same day, or next day appointments. I needed a last minute eyebrow wax and decided to try OC waxing again since my waxer was not available. I show up to my 6pm appointment with Sabrina and I am shown back to the room. I specifically ask her not to wax my eyebrows thin and even showed her where I needed a cleanup. Well, not only did she manage to make my eyebrows look thinner, but I ended up leaving with burn marks right below each eyebrow. I figured something had gone very wrong when Sabrina cleaned up the skin using witch hazel, and I felt a very strong burning sensation that made me cry out and tears to flow. As someone who has gotten her eyebrows waxed for the past 20 years, I have never felt such pain. When Sabrina gave me the mirror to look at the results, I was immediately disappointed to see that my eyebrows did look thinner. I did not say anything because it's not like anything could be done, I knew I wouldn't come back. The next day when I saw the injury, I called the studio and of course no manager was on site. I was told to email and attach pictures and that the manager would get back to me. Of course they never did. Honestly, I would stay away from this chain, and especially Sabrina. read more
